Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, Scream bends the rules of horror films and creates its own. This movie, starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, and Drew Barrymore creates a whole new genre. This satire keeps you on the edge of your seat and gives you a few laughs in between. The characters have seen horror films and make references to them, which does add to the charm.

A year after the death of her mother, Sidney Prescott(Campbell) and the whole town of Woodsboro go through fear as a series of brutal murders start taking place. As Sidney fights to stay alive, a fame hungry anchorwomen, Gale Weathers(Cox) and the goofy, inexperienced Deputy Dewey Riley(Arquette) try to figure out the mystery of the killer.

This movie has great cast who play their characters perfectly. They are smart and witty and are just right for this kind of movie. With a genre like this, you need actors that can play the parts just right. Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox all bring a great performance to the screen.

This movie will keep you laughing as much as it keeps you jumping. It is fun to watch but you still find yourself looking behind doors making sure no one is there. I believe that is what a true horror movie will do to you. Discover the rules of surviving a horror film and see this movie.

Great film. I'm looking forward to seeing the fourth one.
