I decided to put this in the form of those, and I mean it now, GOD-Awful "You Might Be a Redneck" jokes. Why I decided this, I'll never know, maybe the eighth level of Hell opened up and its commander, Jeff Foxworthy, took over my soul for awhile. (Good to be back by the way, I guess baptizing myself by reading a book perhaps helped). :p. Anyway, this isn't really suppose to be "funny" as it is to be frank about my life as a nerd. (Getting to talk about this on the Superbowl thread spawned this, so I don't mean to hijack that by any means, I just want to share what was on my mind at the time, :).) If anything its to reminisce about how fun it can be sometimes, to take some joy and poke fun at it is all. I hope you find some humor in this as well because all of it is true with either one of my friends or myself. And if you too are a nerd, or even if your not, your in good company. Nerds are good people. Anyway, here it is my friends, enjoy:

If you bought a role-playing dice on the day Sir Gary Gygax died, and you believe that this dice grants you better role-playing roles in game... you might be a nerd.

To follow up, if you forgot to buy a role-playing dice on the day Sir Dave Arneson died, and this you believe this is a curse upon your game... you might be a nerd.

If you believe in such things as "blessing dice," and you make the sacred pilgrimage to GenCon to have the "Lords and Creators" of your games "baptize" them for you... you might be a nerd.

When you play Magic the Gathering, and you own all of "The Power Nine" in your deck, (with copies), or better yet, you know what this is... you might be a nerd.

If your idea of a "party" implies that you will be doing some form of calculation down the road... you might be a nerd.

If you know by heart all the words to every Monty Python routine, verbatum... you might be a nerd.

If you know what I mean by the player types of Timmy, Johnny, and Spike... you might be a nerd.

If you schedule a routine around going to your local comic book shop to go "tournaments"... you might be a nerd.

If, in the course of the day with your friends, you decide to talk about philosophy, (The Myth of the Cave), mathematics, (String Theory), or perhaps this proceeds to a discussion on the economy, (Market, Command, and Traditional)... you might be a nerd.

One last one, if you just fought worym deamons yesterday...and you believe it... you might be a nerd.

If you read those and pretentiously dismissed them as childish drivel... you might be an *******.

Speaking of nerds, the new Community episode is a D&D game. I loved it. Especially Chang's character.

This is something I have see. My friends and I watched Gamers, (2006), at times we were busting at the seams... others we were kind of disturbed at the parallels. Nonetheless, it proved entertaining for those who play it.

More serious here, we all recently played 4th Ed. as a sort of hack and slash campaign... dude... 4th Ed. is a killer. We had four players; a tank, (for the lower levels), a healer, (always needed and he did some damage too when the time called for it), and two mages, (one was an elemental mage and I was a dragon mage)... point is... we had a really decent group built. All the same... it didn't matter. 4th Ed. destroyed us. We at first thought it was the DM, but Kyle, (the DM), kept telling us he actually had cut it down significantly. It just wasn't fun anymore at that point, so we gave up.

Before 4th Ed. we were playing Star Wars d20... but by level 10 we had already broken the game. (My guy was practically invincible and was doing at least 3 d12 damage and at most a 5 d12... yeah not fun for the DM anymore)... So now were on to something much more fun and seems more stable which is Deadlands. We haven't played that game in a long time, and it welcomed us warmly. We've been playing it now for about a half-year and things seem to be going strong still.

I dismissed them as uninteresting tripe and skipped down to the replies. Do I still get to be an *******?

Nope. Nerds don't bend the rules; we nerdily adhere to them precisely.

The very first thing that went through my head.
