I, hereby, eh-hem, proclaim this list to be the seventy five best thrillers and mysteries I have watched thus far!

Like my Top 100 list, this one is my personal favorites and it's not neccessarily so much about quality as to how much I enjoyed them. Instead of a quickie-review, I'm going to popcorn rate them on:

~Dialouge (mostly comedy, laughs, and just generally good script.)

~Suspense (plot, storyline, and thrill. Movies with a shocking twist at the end get bonus points)

~Quality (cast, direction, style)

~How much I enjoyed the film Overall (I will say that I am biased--I.E. I will never put a Nic Cage movie in front of Bruce Willis. Just will not happen)

For example, Eye of the Killer's mystery is very predictable but I enjoyed the characters and the dialouge-hence the higher rating then The Hunt for Red October.

The Negotiator and Hunt For Red October are excellent movies.

The Negotiator is a very underrated movie. Jackson and Spacey were phenominal in it.

And the Hunt For Red October is just classic suspense and one of the best thrillers.

I think The Negotiator is a very high quality movie for it being so little known. I just felt that toward the end it got a little...messy and I got kinda lost. Still, excellent watch.

Connery is my favorite part of Red October

Witness is awesome. It was the first non-Star Wars, non-Indiana Jones film I saw Harrison Ford in. He was the only reason I watched it, but in the end it opened me up to different types of films I may not otherwise have watched.

I don't think I saw American Graffiti for the first time until after Witness. I could be wrong, though. I just know up to that point (at age 11) my movie going had been focused on more kiddie-type films (Disney, Star Wars, goofy comedies). Witness helped me see that the type of movies I had always thought were just boring could actually be good.

CQ, if you liked The Vanishing, do your best to see Spoorloos, the original 1988 Dutch film. This isn't one of those "Oh, you must see the original" film snob must see, it's one of those "everyone sees that the original is far superior" film snob must sees. :D

I've actually heard a good bit about this one. I'll take your word for it, HK. I'll probably get around to it one of these days.

In the Line of Fire was an excellent film. Great thriller. I included it on my Top 100 list.

Interesting to see Fallen on a list like this. I wasn't a big fan, but I can see how one would like it. Got to say I love the inclusion of Notorious. I can see where this list is going, and it's going to be a great one.
