Which do you like? The Robert Mitchum classic, directed by J. Lee Thompson or the Robert De Niro chillfest directed by Martin Scorcese?

I prefer the remake. It has much better performances (Robert De Niro's version of Max Cady is scarier than Robert Mitchum's take), better script and direction, and possibly out of love for De Niro, Scorcese, Nick Nolte and Juliette Lewis. Which do you choose?

Hey Tyler... Badger already started a thread to discuss the original version and the remake of Cape Fear so I'm going to close this thread and direct everyone who wants to discuss it to click on the link to the earlier thread... thanks... :)
