I seen a thread IRO'S worst movie's, and seen it started a big disscusion so thought i would give it ago.

100.-- Wild Wild West

http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/050620/14429__west_l.jpg

Big budget, big star, awful film one of will smith's worst movie's i can think of.

99.-- Batman Forever

http://www.batman-legacy.com/images/2-face-batman-forever.jpg

A movie with so many huge star's just couldn't do what Tim Burton did before hand, this was a disaster.

98.-- Basic Instict 2

http://images.movieplayer.it/2003/08/28/sharon-stone-in-basic-instinct-2-24506.jpg

14 year's later we get a sequel Wow ( keep them shut this time please).

97.-- Home Alone 3

http://www.turkcealtyazi.org/images/poster/0119303.jpg

A fan of the first two movie's but the franchise soon flopped when this was released.

96.-- Doom

http://arcade-junkies.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/dooms-rock.jpg

This is the worst movie ive seen based on a video game this was doomed from the start haha.

95.--I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

http://www.horrorstew.com/images/IKnow014.jpg

Awful Sequel to a movie that just wern't good in the first place.

94.--Rocky 5

http://www.webomatica.com/wordpress/images/movies/rocky-5.jpg

How did thing's go so bad with 4 great movies before hand.

Iroquois

Gee, what an original idea.

(Just kidding, TheUsualSuspect did it first - check his thread out.)

Also, so far two match my list, so it's off to a good start.

Doom could have been made into a much better film, but it was hardly the worst videogame movie ever.

These were far worse:
MK2
All the Resident Evil movies,
Prince Of Persia
& many many more...

The videogame hardly had much of a storyline to begin with, but the movie did have have some decent moments.

IMO, the only saving grace of Doom was the few minutes of FPS towards the end. I wish I could have seen the reaction in a packed theatre when the FPS scene started. Did anyone see this movie in the theatre? If so, was there a positive reaction to the FPS scene? Any reaction at all?

(I do like Karl Urban -- first saw him in Chronicles of Riddick.)

I'm not a big video game buff, but I do enjoy the occasional session with a FPS.

Aye.

I also love the fact that, based on the first line of the first post, you can infer that LuDiNaToR was inspired to do such a thread because of "big discussion".

I saw it in the theatre, sadly it was close to being called as empty.
But there were few school fanboys ahead of me who enjoyed the film a lot..

Atleast, I didn't feel robbed off my money the way I felt with Prince of Persia.

Karl Urban is a badass actor... I am really excited to see him in the new Judge Dredd movie that he has been cast for.

93.-- Batman And Robin

http://www.thedarkknight.matthewclose.co.uk/Batman%20Forever.jpg

From batman forever to this thing's just went alot worse.

92.-- Universal soldier 2 The Return

http://l.yimg.com/eb/ymv/us/img/hv/photo/movie_pix/tristar_pictures/universal_soldier__the_return/_group_photos/bill_goldberg2.jpg

The first universal soldier was a average movie so why bother to make a sequel and add people like goldberg to the cast i'll never know.

91.--Catwoman

http://www.taisha.org/test/jryd/fj/photo/2008F03F31816853524.jpg

The only good thing about this movie was halle berry, other than that it was awful

But damned if it isn't really fun to watch.

Blair Witch is an accomplishment. Doesn't do anything for me, but you cannot deny what it did for film. I think it really marks a defining moment in film that is really only now starting to make waves. Just look at the mumblecore movement.

Freddy Vs Jason was a kickass film... too bad they never had a sequel..
Both the series of films had ended up becoming a joke anyway with the silly sequels.
I think this movie was taking it to a whole different level.

Number 23 wasn't a bad film.. Atleast I didn't see the ending coming like I did for Shutter Island.
Not a great film, but not the worst ever. Very average film.
& I have never seen a bad Jim Carrey acting except for Batman Forever & even that wasn't bad.

If you're going to call a film "really stupid", you'd better at least provide some good reasoning beyond "just watch it again and you'll see why". Mark evidently loves the film enough to watch it 25 times and he obviously won't have any problem with watching it again, so that won't work.

Iroquois
11-08-10, 06:41 AM
Seeing as I was probably around 18-19 the first time I saw it (I'm 20 now) I'm aware that the film wasn't as great as I'd been led to believe (think most of it was sort of ruined for me by a Family Guy episode that parodied the entire movie) and it took a while to get into, but I definitely wouldn't go so far as to call it "stupid". The film had a fairly consistent internal logic and managed some decent scares - I'll grant some off-key acting, but that was just about it. Didn't find it stupid (silly in the first half or so, maybe, but adequately countered by the second half).

I think from the trailer it was obvious that Mars Attacks was a parody of the earlier Alien Invasion movies...

If someone went in expecting Independence Day, you shouldn't have watched in the first place.

I think Mars Attacks! is one of the best sci-fi comedies from the 90's, far better than MIB.

I think you might have been disappointed by it coz you had wrong expectations, but I hardly doubt it's the worst movie ever made.. The movie clearly shows it's not to be taken seriously & is a spoof.

I dislike 50 Fist Dates, then again I hate most Sandler movies except for Billy Madison.
50 First Dates nearly put me to sleep. but a worst movie?? I doubt. Sandler has done far worse.

Ofcourse we respect your list of worst movies, but don't you feel your judgement of theirs is a bit too quick.

i thort it was a great movie years ago, but friday night i stayed in and watched it and it realy was a awful movie.

You've been making this list for quite sometime, But one friday night you decided Poltergeist belongs here... So you pick the movies randomly on what you recently see?

Maybe Poltergeist wasn't as impressive as it was in your childhood.. but it is technically still impressive on certain levels.
Maybe you'll realize this much later, I only hope so.

LuDiNaToR

nope alot of horrors are going to make my list and i did watch that friday, but i have also re-watched alot of others halloween. IT, omen, chucky, nightmare on elm street 1-2 to see if any of them would make it so it wernt random.

Anyway continue, I'll only be happy if I see No Country For Old Men here.

Nope, it wasn't. It was below average.
I found it to be some sort of chick flick. Superman was a weak character & whiny most of the time. Whole Fortress of Solitude thing was incredibly silly.

Luthor was almost as stupid as trying to make a business out of Real estate like he did in the original film.

Agreed. A lot of movies here are more disappointing than bad. Even some I have defended as enjoyable were disappointing. But best/worst/whatever, is all a matter of opinion. I'm sure there is someone out there who thinks Santa Claus vs. the Martians is a cinematic masterpiece. To each his own.

I also agree with something you mentioned previously (possibly in another thread, I can't find it at the moment). You mentioned that, looking at LuDiNaToR's movie lists, there are a lot more movies out there for him to watch (not picking on him - there are a lot of movies I should watch also). I think, if he goes and looks at some truly classic films - and some truly bad films - his opinions of things will change and/or his reasons for his opinions will become more discerning.

genesis_pig

The thing is this list is of Disappointing movies.. not worst movies.

Worst movies would be movies like Mad Max 3, not only does Mad Max 3 insult the original 2 movies, it even ends up being worse than most of the Post-Apocalyptic movies that were popular among Bad audiences. & that's saying a lot coz in the 80 & 90's there were a lot of awful Post-Apoc films.

Most of the movies mentioned are below average, but not worst on any grounds...
Inspector Gadget wasn't even half bad compared to the original source.
If one disliked Inspector Gadget, I am sure he was never familiar with the cartoons.
with a movie like Inspector Gadget one gets what is being shown in the trailer.

For me worst films would be ones which are worse on all grounds, I am sure Hellboy wasn't worse in every possible way.

genesis_pig
12-01-10, 05:14 PM
This is what you had to say about one of your worst movies:

The Matrix Revolutions 2.5

Well the last in the trilogy The Matrix Revolutions. The movie i dont think was on the same level as the other 2, i felt as tho it just lost its way and it felt rushed along. The biggest dissapointment was the ending and its a shame it had so much potential to make this a great trilogy.

You judged an entire movie which is average in your opinion as one of your top 100 worst movies just coz of a disappointment in the ending...
Also your worst movie had so much potential to make it a great trilogy?

because its not a terrible movie, characters are all the same acting is good i think it was just a big dissapointment.

How can you rate a movie as average & call it your worst??..

You've been saying stuff like all along, now don't get the "disappointing" bit here.. all along you've been dismissing these movies as worse, now you're using a subtle word like "disappointing".. In fact it was me who labelled this thread as your "disappointing" list.

I am sure there is not even a single thing good about that film.

There's a Drew cameo, so that's one thing.

Reading over this thread, wow. i had some really bad choices on here. I hadnt seen many movies when i joined these boards... as you can tell by what i called bad movies :D but i miss these lists, dont see many worst movies list anymore and they always started a big discussion aswell.

just from this year there is a couple i may aswell throw in.

Green Lantern
Transformers 3
Zoo Keeper

I don't think these will prompt discussions so much as they will posts of total agreement.

Wow, I did not see #1 coming. That movie seemed to have come out of nowhere!!!!

Anyway, let me get this straight. You watch Wild Things 2....hate it, then decide to watch Wild Things 3? That's pretty funny.

You seem to have a lot of horror films on here. The Nightmare series and Halloween series. Why if you hate them so much do you continue to watch them? Just curious.

Day After Tomorrow I really like.

Poltergeist is brilliant. Iconic movie. One of the best scary movies out there.

Old School had some really funny moments.

Superman Returns was really good as was Hellboy.

I agree w/ some.

I'm indifferent to most because I liked them but not to the point where I have to meantion it.

I dissagree w/:
batman forever
the day after tomorrow
the number 23
the hulk
aeon flux
charlies angles
hancock
casper
50 first dates
the waterboy
... because I liked these ones A LOT

Anyways though, cool thread. Interesting:cool:

I think it is a great mistake that Smith choose to act in the movie Wild Wild West!
