Hello, this is my first ever thread (i didn't even create a introductory thread whoops!). I've been here over a year now and thought i should make a top 50 then after much more thought i decided to do a top 100 then my head hurt so i stopped thinking. Now, I know there have been people talking saying "Ahhhhhh when's SammyJ88 gonna do a top 100!!!!!" and so on and so forth , so without further ado (and in the words of Joe Swanson).

I'm not that good on elaborating on things so i'll just put my main points up on why i chose that film in my top 100. Basically the way i'm judging my top 100 are on the ease it takes these films to grab my attention and take my mind off everything else in an enjoyable way. Does that make sense? Anyway let's get started.:)

100. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
"I'm just a sweet transvestite". Just a great musical.

99. A Nightmare on Elm Street
The original of course. Scary Stuff!

98. Blazing Saddles
"See that steady as a rock..... but i shoot with this hand". Mel Brooks always makes me laugh, who could forget the scene around the campfire.

97. Pan's Labyrinth
I didn't know much at all going in to this film and it surprised me a lot! Great fantasy yet blended well with a terrifying reality.

96. The Deer Hunter
I love Christopher Walken's performance in this.

95. The Warriors
Baseball Furys!!!

94. Hero
I saw this at the cinema's and wow, great cinematography.

93. Jackie Brown
What can i say? I love Tarantino.

92. The Devil's Advocate
Al Pacino's last scene is pure acting.

91. Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Portobello Road, that is one catchy song.

Powdered Water

Is that Jet Li's Hero? If so, I agree. Great flick indeed. Have you also seen Jet Li's Fearless? A must see for all Li fans.

90. Eastern Promises
Viggo is da man in this, very good fight scene (sometimes a little too revealing)

89. Gangs of New York
Daniel Day Lewis and Leo

88. Evil Dead
My least favourite Evil Dead but still good enough to make my Top 100.

87. Full Metal Jacket
The first 40mins is my favourite, and that drill sergeant scares me.

86. Guest House Paradiso
Funny, Funny, Funny stuff the opening scenes are the best, but there is also a kitchen brawl scene that goes for a while but just keeps getting better.

85. The Witches
Woah Angelica Houston scares me in this one especially when i was 10 when i saw it.

84. Monty Python's The Holy Grail
If i was stranded on a desert island with a dvd player and a tele (hey it happens) and could only bring 5 dvd's this would be one. I literally laugh from start to finish, true story..

83. Death At A Funeral
The original, acid instead of valium, one funeral i would like to see.

82. Anger Management
I know a lot of people don't like Adam Sandler films and Adam Sandler in general, but i really enjoyed this one.

81. Tremors
Kevin Bacon at his redneck finest (maybe), the storyline is what i like most about this film.

80. Signs
Classic M. Night Shyamalan, lots of build up to the final scene.

79. Starship Troopers
Some good ol' alien action, Denise Richards isn't too bad herself:p

78. From Hell
I've always been interested with the unsolved Jack The Ripper case, and Johnny Depp brought this to life.

77. Tombstone
It doesn't impress the western lovers, but i thought it was a fun flick with a great performance from Val Kilmer.

76. Predator
Arnie brings it, i don't know what "it" is but he brings it alright.:D

75. Ferris Buellers Day Off
I remember me and a couple of mates were going to do a full on Ferris Bueller's day off in middle school, but we got caught going out the gates at school:( so we had to do it the next day:)

74. The Breakfast Club
80's woooooooooo

73. Heart and Souls
Just a warm happy movie;)

72. Boiler Room
I had to watch this for school, every time class finished and the teacher turned it off i just wanted to keep watching. Giovanni Ribsi does well.

71. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jnr. A very funny action crime thriller:cool:

90. Eastern Promises
Viggo is da man in this, very good fight scene (sometimes a little too revealing)

What do you mean by "revealing"? Too brutal?

Like your list so far, especially:

- The Warriors
- Gangs of New York
- Full Metal Jacket
- The Breakfast Club
- From Hell
- Eastern Promises

He means that the fight scene is in the nude. Viggo lets it all hang out.

Yeah, between Eastern Promises and The Road, Viggo loves unappealing nudity.

70. Waterworld
Massive budget, but i didn't know anything about that when i first watched it.

69. Trainspotting

68. Swingers
Vince Vaughn is very likable in this film. Cult Classic.

67. There's something About Mary
Very funny, Matt Dillon, Ben Stiller, Cameron Diaz.

66. The Long Kiss Goodnight
"Chef's do that". I'm a big fan of Geena Davis and Samuel L Jackson, my favourite scene has to be when she dyes her hair and changes her whole persona. Craig Bierko plays a great villan aswell.

65. Terminator
Beautiful action packed Arnie, the original, but not my favourite one.;)

64. Total Recall
Three breasted aliens need i say anymore?

63. Groundhog Day
This movie never seems to get boring not matter how many times i watch it.

62. Snatch
Several Stories blended into one by Guy Ritchie, funny with some interesting fight scenes. Epic performance of a pikey by Brad Pitt.

61. The Green Mile
This one tugs at the heart strings a bit, not many films have but this is surely one of them.

60. Evil Dead 2
The scene where his hand goes feral so he has to chop it off makes me laugh everytime.

59. Strictly Ballroom
Same thing as one of the previous posts i had to watch this for english class, my thoughts before the film were that it was going to be typical romantic film. But i was pleasantly surprised.

58. Resident Evil
I'm a big fan of the games and zombies in general, so you can guess how i felt when this was coming out.

57. Catch Me If You Can
I just wanted to be like Leonardo DiCaprio's character Frank Abagnale Jnr, after viewing this.

56. American Gangster
I wasn't really excited about this when it came out, i didn't even take notice of it and hadn't planned to see it really. But my friend brought over the dvd one day and it was love at first sight.

55. Jason and the Argonauts
I forgot about this film for a while since viewing it when i was little. I watched it again a year ago and it brought back a lot of memories. I especially like the skeleton fight scene. Ray Harryhausen at his best.

54. Good Will Hunting
I didn't see this till about 3 years ago when they showed it on t.v, Matt Damon's character and acting are A grade in my books.

53. Boogie Nights
Dirk Diggler, lol funny film, Alfred Molina cracks me up everytime.

52. A Beautiful Mind
One of Russell Crowe's top 3 performances.

51. Saving Private Ryan
The whole movie just grabs you from that opening scene on Omaha beach, D-Day.

Thanks for all the replies, halfway there! Between 50 and 10 there are few films after second viewing could bounce up or down the list, so it's getting pretty hard now.

50. American Psycho
Christian Bale is a psycho....

49. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
I was thinking of bunching the trilogy up, but i think they deserve to be placed as seperate films. My least favourite but still well done great build up to the final battle scene.

48. Alien
Original and the best in my opinion. Should be in every DVD collection.

47. Remember The Titans
Uplifting film, when i was playing footy they made us watch this to bring the team together.

46. Blow
Johnny Depp plays a cocaine dealer too easily.

45. Desperado
Steve Buscemi in that opening scene makes me laugh, and Antonio Banderas is one cool cat.

44. Almost Famous
Movie about a young music journalist who lands a job with Rolling Stone magazine. Great scene in the bus when they're all singing tiny dancer by Elton John.

43. Zulu
I'm a big fan of Michael Caine after watching Zulu, a story about 100 british soldiers holding off more than 4000 zulu warriors.

42. The Last Samurai
I tend to stay away from films with Tom Cruise in them, but i enjoyed The Last Samurai. It has a great last battle.

41. Shaun of the Dead
Simon Pegg has the best sense of humour!

Brodinski
