View Full Version : What do you watch on T.V.?

sadesdrk

There are some shows that I never EVER miss.
My favorite T.V. show as of right now, is That 70's Show. I absolutely love that show. (Never got into the spin-off about the 80's) I watched the special last night about the voted best episodes...funny, funny stuff.
I also make a point to catch:
The Daily Show
Biography (when it's someone interesting)
SNL
Designer's Challenge
Sponge Bob Square Pants and Dextor's Lab
Felicity

tell me your favs

I really liked The Daily Show when Craig Kilborn hosted, it took some time to get used to Jon Stewart though, and I don't watch it as much as I used to..

SNL
Mad TV
Who's Line is it Anyway? (I catch the old British version as well as some of the American version)
Insomniac
Dexter's Lab
Powerpuff Girls
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Batman Beyond (sometimes)
AMC's Behind the Screen (sometimes)
Kids in the Hall
Seinfeld

Those are the majority of things I watch on TV. I don't watch them all of the time though. I might catch part of one and watch it, or I might miss a couple of shows, I'm not devoted to TV so I'm not going to make special time each week to make sure I catch THAT show.

I have to say that back when I was working the evil 3 am shift at my old job, I would watch That 70's Show before going to sleep each night (I went to bed around 7:30-8:00). I'm usually working or watching a movie so TV shows are something that I am not big on a lot of the time. I think I already said that though, so I'll just leave it at that.

Shows currently in production with new episodes, there aren't all that many I watch regularly any more:

"NYPD Blue"
"Law & Order"
"The Simpsons"
"Crossing Jordan"
"The Job"
"Andy Richter Controls the Universe"
"The Late Show with David Letterman"
"The Daily Show"
"Howard Stern"
and when its up and running
"The Sopranos"

If we get into syndicated shows broadcast as repeats (like "The Kids in the Hall" and "Seinfeld"), well that's a whole other can of worms and a longer list.

Yup, but a lot of shows that aren't syndicated have repeats. The Daily Show is a prime example of that.

Holden Pike
05-01-02, 02:38 PM
Obviously other than daily news programs like "The Today Show" and daytime soap operas, every show broadcasts repeats. Do you truly not understand the difference between "Sienfeld", which has been off the air for nearly four years now, and "The Daily Show", which takes scheduled breaks in its production? "The Sopranos" runs repeats, "The Simpsosn" run repeats, EVERY show on any network run repeats, syndicated or not. Duh.

But thanks for clearing that up. I guess the first sentence of my post about shows currently in production was too cryptic and difficult to understand.

spudracer
05-01-02, 03:00 PM
Yeah, but that paragraph right below that said...if we get into syndicated shows and repeats, maybe you should have just left it out altogether. Duh.

Sometimes you're too busy trying to one-up everyone on here with your high and mighty "I'm better than you" reply to everything that you don't use common knowledge.

Holden Pike
05-01-02, 03:13 PM
So, from your perspective a television show ceasing make new episodes and run only as repeats in syndication is confused with running repeats because they don't produce a show every day/week? In that case, I can totally see how my first post in this thread was too complicated.

Sadie listed all shows that are currently in production, then you mixed in shows that are long since defunct but of course are still on television in syndication. I was trying to make that distinction clear, for how I constructed my list, and Sadie hers. Somehow I made it monstrously unclear to you, Spud.

But I suspect everybody gets it now, so thanks for the assist!

spudracer
05-01-02, 03:20 PM

Why seperate a list of shows you watch? The thread title simply says, "What do you watch on T.V." It doesn't say "What shows that are in current production do you watch on T.V."

Besides, Law & Order is in semi-syndication all over the tube, as well as NYPD Blue, and The Simpsons. :)

Holden Pike
05-01-02, 03:25 PM
Yes, but as I said, the shows with new episodes that I continue to make a point of watching I listed above in my first post. I still watch "The Simpsons", Law & Order" and "NYPD Blue" in their regular weekly slots during the new prime time seasons each year. Indeed I also watch them in syndication (nothing 'semi' about it), which is one of the many reasons my list of total shows I watch in any given week is much longer than the ten I listed above.

And again, thanks for the clarification: you rock.

spudracer

Your sarcasm only exceeds your big-headedness. :D

Well like I said, I don't watch that much T.V. anyways.

Haha.. you watch Insomniac? Hey I started to watch it, too. I don't have any tv at my place at the moment, so my brother tapes some shows for me, and one of them happens to be Insomniac. What a life Dave Attell has, huh? He just walks around drinking, clowning around wherever he goes - the good life :D Did you check out the coal miner episode? Man, I wouldn't want to be a coal miner ....

spudracer
05-01-02, 05:54 PM
I think the last episode I saw of Insomniac was where he was in Arizona.

Holden Pike
05-01-02, 06:22 PM
The one where he visits the coal mine was last week's episode, in Charleston, West Virginia. He's back in The Big Apple this week.

I like "Insmoniac" a lot too, though I haven't made it apoinment television yet. Don't really have to, as good ol' Comedy Central re-runs all of their original programming three or five times a week. Keep flipping around late at night, and you're just bound to hit it.

I've always liked Atell's stand-up and his appearances on Howard Stern's radio show, but "Insomniac" is a perfect vehicle for him.

Saturday Night Live

Boy I hate to admit these because I have no clue what they say about me ... and they just don't seem to fit together:

-- The Sopranos
-- Survivor
-- CSI
-- Everybody Loves Raymond (early evening syndication)
-- Whose Line Is It Anyway? (British and American versions)
-- Saturday Night Live
-- David Letterman

-- Fox News Channel (all day long in the background while I work)

Yoda
05-01-02, 08:13 PM
How could I forget Survivor? I don't watch it regularly, but I keep up with the general happenings. I used to watch Letterman religiously, but it's been a few weeks now, at least.

the only series i keep tabs on is Will and Grace and yes, i hate to admit it but Friends.
i was excited about the new julia louis dreyfuss show "watching ellie" but it sunk fast.
i miss the tick....loved it . :(

if i remember i turn on simpsons but it's just too early for me to be sitting down.

i watch Xfiles when i can and Profiler (lovvve the artsy intro to that show....very cool...in the same vein as se7en's intro/credits)

i still watch seinfeld reruns.

i always watch twilight zone reruns.

The Kids in the Hall is usually on at 1pm, CST and runs for an hour.

I forgot CSI, I catch it every now and then, pretty good show.

I think one of the reasons the Seinfeld curse got Julia too was because, well, the way they shot the show wasn't mainstream, and sometimes people want mainstream with a familiar face. They can handle something like that with a new face, but with "Elaine", they expected another "Seinfeld"

Yoda
05-01-02, 10:59 PM
I hate to go against the grain, but I don't find The Kids in the Hall to be beyond average, if even that. I'd say one sketch out of a dozen is quite funny, but the rest, to me, are a bore. When they're funny, they're very funny...SNL on a good night caliber funny...but I've found those moments to be rare. Just my opinion. :)

Did anyone watch Frontier House? Man, that was great. It was on PBS...three families went to Montana to survive like farm families did in 1883. It was amazing the transformations these people went through...and how they adapted to 21st century life after the five months they spent in the wilderness...
inspiring as hell.
I'm sad it's over. It only aired Mon. Tues. and last night...
I'm sure they'll show it again, if they do...I encourage you all to watch it.

You're thinking of LEXX, it comes on after Farscape. The season where they were stuck between the planet Fire and the planet Water actually had a good story. I didn't like the show before that stretch. When they changed story lines away from Fire/Water I stopped watching it. It was way too corny after that.

Lexx was originally a series of made for TV movies produced by HBO for their "overnight" boradcasts. SciFi then turned it into a regular series. They replaced the actress who plays Zev with the big lipped one everyone seems to recognise. I think the other actors stayed the same. SciFi will on occasion replay the original movies back-to-back.

monkeypunch, who's that p|ssed off south park dude?

ok, here goes:

MUST SEES

Will and Grace W&G themselves are mildly amusing. Jack and Megan-Mulally-rich-b|tch and Rosario the Maid are hilarious ...
ER
South Park a timeless classic
X-Files - Yes yes, it went to sh|te. However, I adore scully as much as I adore mulder and i will never let her down. even when she's surrounded by crappy actors and silly plotlines. i'm with my fearless leader till the sappy, twisted end. she da man. i mean, woman. duchovny sucks for leaving her stranded like that for a year. punk@ss.
American Embassy ... hey man, you gotta experience travel and CIA romance somehow ... but i don't know where it moved to ...
Nigella Bites ...that woman ... that woman is heaven. exotic italianate looks mixed with a glorious british accent ... the way she says "yoh-gurt" ... curves ... heaving bosoms ... glorious raven ringlets ... her yummy food ... her goddess nature ... bliss ... Chris can tell you all about my lust ... i mean, my fascination for her. ma-ma ...)

Whenever I come across it - I most likely stay (for biography shows, depends on how fascinating the subject):

Howard Stern
A&E Biographies
Lifetime Biographies
E! True Hollywood Story
Inside the Actor's Studio
King of the Hill
VH1 Behind the Music
Various HGTV Kitchen and Bath Specials, and Designer homes and anything where they make me drool over design, landscape, and interior decorating
This Old House - I used to watch this religiously but I get tired of trying to figure out when the original episodes come on and chasing them down

Whenever I come across it - but I may leave:

Irooooon Chef!
Simpsons
Real World
Dark Angel - though the last 5 min i saw from the other day ... something to do with altered humans and a new flag? looked reaaallly weird. i used to watch mainly for the boy-girl chemistry between the heroine and her male sidekick beau.

Kids in the Hall is indeed prime stuff. hey, chris, i think it's the new Monty Python! they ALWAYS made me laugh. SNL rarely makes me laugh. nyah nyah.

i'm sure more ideas will come ....

Thmmie~I'm surprised there's still devoted X-Files Fans; that show was at it's best when it was all about kooky aliens and scary mutant people...Sewer Dwellers, Glow-Bugs, Viruses, and the like. I agree--nice avatar, FF!

As far as I'm concerned, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the best shows on TV. Great writing, storylines, and ensemble cast (to balance out the undeniable fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar, while okay as Buffy, is a mediocre actress). Joss Whedon is a god. And Angel is turning into a great show, too--this season it's really come into its own. I watch both of those every week, and we're coming down to the wire on both--which equals big-*ss season enders. Makes me tingly. :D

Of the newer shows, Andy Richter Controls the Universe is the standout. It's so weird and funny. Very good. As are South Park, the Daily Show, The Job, The Simpsons, King of the Hill...

Space Ghost Coast to Coast, the Brak Show--these are great, great shows that you can catch on the Sunday Adult Swim on Cartoon Network.

Shows I watch with my daughter:

Spongebob Squarepants, Rocket Power, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Clifford, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Hey Arnold!

Jeez, I watch way too much TV... :)

"Are you getting enough oxygen?"

Years ago I watched "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" religiously, taped 'em all (the one with the cast of "Batman" is still my favorite among favorites - "You, Sir, have nothing: your show has been cancelled!"), and memorized many of the best bits. This show was even the launching pad for The Powerpuff Girls, and for me that first short is still the most brilliant episode. Hell, I even have a "Hello, My Name Is Brak" T-shirt.

But then I kind of just burned out 'em, even though they're only fifteen-minutes long each. I'm still amused by them when I randomly hit one while flipping these days, but I must admit I no longer seek them out.

I think part of the problem is the various guests became too hip to what was going on, started "acting" too much rather than just re-acting (the more blankly and confused the better) and letting the writers and animators handle the comedy part - stand-up comedians were always some of the worst guests for this very reason, I think. I guess I can't say what it is exacty, but I don't find the newer episodes anywhere near as good as the first couple seasons. Maybe it's just me?

I have listened to the CDs many times, which for me is a much better version of the Brak show. "Minky Doodle" and "What Day Is It?" are two of my all-time favorites - much better as audio only than on the tube.

sades, see me/patti's post ... lol, i agree the quality of the stories were struggling but most particularly in conjunction with

1) 2000-2001: Duchovny has a baby with Tea, decides he wants to work HALF as much (11 episodes) and get paid TWICE as much. AND move to LA. or wherever, from vancouver. AND he wants more directorial rights. so then, he starts directing campy and totally non x-files style episodes. totally amusing - but not fitting at all. dude has way too much ego going on. we saw him in that silly movie where he's a doctor used for illegal purposes. actually, we didn't.... EXACTLY. He does us a FAVOR showing up for a brief cameo or two.

2) 2001-2002: Duchovny is free one year earlier than scully. which is just WRONG. why? how the hell? they were in tandem the whole time! so, instead of being a loyal trooper he gets all artsy fartsy and "i've gone as far as I can go and the turn of the show is just not really serving any further purpose true to the original and it's time to move on" ... like your campy "ghouls dancing in the cemetery with cameo by Tea and Garry Shandling extravaganza" HELPED the show! grrr. so he's too good for us! he shows up for NO cameos and our darling scully is left with the biggest baby in the world (that thing is huge, how did it pop out of such a tiny frame?), surrounded by frickin TERMINATOR 2 and a chick who should be playing on freakin' Profiler or something. Annabeth Gish. I tell ya. The eyes she makes at Doggett would be considered sluttish in Mulder/Scully world. She's just not the caliber the show needs. And it's not that Doggett's bad, it's just that the role they gave him is entirely unfitting. he should actually have Cary Elwes' role, or something similar. the minute he takes out a gun and looks stern - which is pretty much all the time - i totally expect him to start chasing down the hall with that Terminator 2 music and to hear Ed Furlong screaming raspily in the distance. and he's always so d@mned confused. scully's a scientist and she never looks that baffled. you'd expect he'd have gotten it by now.

whew! sorry, had to rant there. sigh.

monkeypunch - oh my god they did Crowe! i can't believe i missed that. while i adore south park i don't catch it much these days. i'm sinful.

Yeah, I know "Space Ghost, Coast to Coast" is still alive and well on The Cartoon Network as part of their 'Adult Swim' late nights. I didn't stop watching it because I couldn't find it on the schedule, I stopped watching it because I burned-out on 'em and the guests became too hip to the show's format, for me anyway.

Weeks and weeks ago I did remember one more show currently in production that I just love to tears, but I forgot to come back to this thread and add it:

Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm", aired on HBO. Fan-frippin'-tastic stuff! Last year was only the second season, and the show keeps progressing and getting even better all the time. Actually, between HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Sopranos", at this point I'm much more looking forward to season number three of Larry David's show than to season number four of David Chase's, though Tony and his Crew are still must-see-TV.

I don't watch too much TV, either. There are a few select shows I always take an interest in, but for the most part I can find far much more entertainment through a movie...or, aside from that, a book...or the Internet.

Never miss:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Queer As Folk
Manage to catch episodes of these now and then:
South Park
Enterprise (will it ever improve?!)
I bug my HBO-subscribing pals for:
Six Feet Under
Rent DVDs of these when they come out:
The Sopranos
Sex and the City
When in couch potato mode:
Comedy Central
Animal Planet (Hate it when the animals die. :( )
(Used to love Crocodile Hunter—I am so sad.)
Want to see sometime because people have recommended it ardently (but don't hold your breath waiting):
Coupling
Will & Grace
West Wing
The Osbournes
Past series watched semi-faithfully:
X-Files
La Femme Nikita (Roy Depuis. sigh.)
The Simpsons
Futurama
King of the Hill
Malcolm in the Middle

Never missed ST:NG, DS9, and Voyager in their day.

More likely to rent a movie that watch telly—can't live my life around air times. Probably should get TiVo.

For me, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (http://www.hbo.com/larrydavid/) has become far and away the best show on television. Even "The Sopranos" now - which I still enjoy and look forward to - is mostly just a warm-up for Larry David's brilliance. As good as it was the first two seasons, it's just getting better and better every single week. My sides actually hurt from laughing so hard these past thirty minutes.

Damn I wish they'd put these puppies out onto DVD. I have most of them taped, but it's an unorganized mess. I need the clarity and easy-to-put-my-hands-on-'em convenience that a DVD set offers.

So how 'bout it, HBO? :D

I caught an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and thought it was terrific. Larry David is hilarious in the show, why wouldn't he be.

I still watch Seinfeld when it's on whatever station seems to be airing it.

I'm starting to take an interest in CSI, not the Miami version mind you, but the original show.

Hugh Laurie is awesome. Every time I see him in a movie, I keep thinking, "Prinny!"

One of my favorites was the re-writing of Johnson's dictionary: "C. A great, blue, bobbly thing with mermaids in." (That's a paraphrase, but close.)

I recently acquired 'the League of Gentlemen' complete collection for christmas. I love slightly disturbing comedy.

I am also currently viewing 'the kingdom'.

The only other television I watch is the re-runs of seinfeld, scrubs and malcolm in the middle, if it happens to be on and I happen to be sitting infront of the box.

I will also view any decent documentaries on....got to have a bit of Davey Attenborough in my life.

I only ever seem to get to watch Seinfeld and Simpsons reruns that run late night on local TV, but when I'm not working, I like to watch Smallville, Arrested Development (funniest program ever!), and Lost, but I am kind of getting out of Lost because it's getting tedious. Every episode is like "Ooh, they're going to explain some of the weirder bits...oh. No they aren't. Sigh. Next week though..." I'll watch that when it's on DVD, though. Wont seem so drawn out. lol.

A new show I've gotten into lately is...

My Name is Earl. Anyone else seen it?

I LOVE Earl. It's so deliciously offbeat and it never fails to put a smile on my face. Along with The Americanized Office (which has really come into its own), NBC is sitting on the best hour of comedy on TV.

Other than that - Scrubs & 24 are two frequently Tivo'd shows for me.

And Colbert is frippin' hilarious.

thmilin
01-23-06, 10:46 PM
Boston Legal - James Spader makes me squirm. In a good way. And there's William Shatner ...

Grey's Anatomy - Everyone but Izzie and Korev make me happy.

American Idol

Commander in Chief - I only watch it for the moments when the female gets to put the smackdown on as Da Boss. And little Generals chafe and sniffle. BWAHAHAHA.

Project Runway/America's Next Top Model - I like da pretty clothes and the triumph.

Bones - At first, I was reluctant. But the heroine is atypical. And she's a bad@ss. I like dat.

I still watch ER, but with a fading fondness. Same goes for Desperate Housewives.

I saw a couple of episodes of the American Office. Wasn't impressed.

Managed to catch glimpses of My Name is Earl, looks like a show i could get into though it's on Fridays, which is pretty much always a night out so never really watch more than a few minutes at a time.

Otherwise, Lost is always a favourite and looking forward to when the new season of 24 airs, even though it won't be on any channels i have, which chugs ass. The Shield is also a quality show.

Any other shows i tend to get on DVD since they're all on Sky.

Don't watch much TV really, 'cept for Neighbours which has got pretty epic since the plane crash, shame i missed it toinght :(

thmilin, I'd highly, highly recommend Veronica Mars to you. You will love it.

silly me, OG, I forgot to put that on my list! with dvr now i actually watch a helluva lot, i just put the core shows there. i got your note - i only just at the end of the last year started watching Veronica Mars, and do like it (though I get confused as to how this girl gets into so much grown up trouble and it's only high school...)

so i shall take your tip at renting season 1! go netflix!

other shows ...

- The L Word (don't have premium channels so i depend on netflix)
- queer as folk (i still don't get what "queer as folk" means as a phrase, but again, go netflix)
- this old house (don't ask. i love watching stuff get built, particularly bathrooms, floors, and kitchens)
- designer's challenge
- the closer - again, a bad@ss wicked female. the thing is, i like my bad@ss wicked females smart, witty, unafraid of putting a man in his place and barking all up in his face, with acting skills. thus, i don't linger on the Lifetime channel. pfft. (i know, i should watch the shield cuz of glenn close, but she'd be the only reason for me to watch it, and i don't like that chicklet dude enough to bother)

i'm tiptoeing around "supernatural" (just set the dvr on it).

Reality tv!!!!!! I like celebrity fit club and real world. One girl from the san diego one actually went to my school in riverside. And just when I was getting bored with all of the old ones…they bring on a new one, cheerleader nation. Im not a cheerleader, nor really want to be one. But it still seems intriguing to me cuz of all the drama that would ensue from a bunch of high school girls. Reality shows are the best when there is tons of juicy drama. I loved that show. Watched the first 2 seasons religiously. Spin-off of the newest incarnation of Doctor Who. I haven't seen the new Doctor Who so I'm coming into this one clueless(no change there then).

Basically it follows a a super-classified group of alien-hunters that all seem to be landing in Wales because it's a brilliant holiday destination :p (I swear I don't work for the Wales tourist industry).

The SFX are a bit 1994 but there's something irresistible about it (ok for me it was the alien in episode 2 that feeds off sexual energy and that led to girls making out, which all guys are obliged to love :D ) - Not that I minded of course!

I think my favorite new show would be Ted Danson's show Help Me Help You. IMO it's one of the funniest and most spontatious sitcoms I've seen in recent years (the revolving guest stars and the number of mental troubles they could have make things interesting)

I watch way more televison than film, especially this year (I have a T.V Schedule, k?). I manage a couple hours of day, passively watching, even without cable. So what is it?

Sunday
Football, duh. I couldn't tell you anything about the NFL, but it's what I watch.

Monday
Re-runs of 'The Simpsons', 'Friends', and 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
Football.
'How I met your Mother'-- Very funny, not always consistently funny for the first-time viewer though.
'Heroes'-- My brother watches this, and since the other T.V is in my parents room and they're old so they go to bed at like 9:30, I watch this. I am kind of getting into it. . .it is on Mondays right?

Tuesday
Re-runs of 'The Simpsons', 'Friends', and 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
'NCIS'-- Favorite Show. I grew up watching J.A.G and even though Mark Harmon was a Q.B for UCLA (I know college football well-enough to know that USC is my team. Go Trojans!) I still love this show.

Wednesday
Re-runs of 'The Simpsons', 'Friends', and 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
'Bones'-- This season has been soooooo much better than the first. The characters, especially title character Dr. Temperence Brennan (Bones), have matured and developed. After watching re-runs from last season, this is very clear to me.
'Criminal Minds'-- I was only watching this at first because my mother watched it, but now I am like so addicted. It is hard to watch though, and sometimes I've had to leave the room, but I love Mandy Patkin! At the end of every show I want to join the FBI. . .
'My Boys' on TBS-- Seems like a really short season (finale is tomorrow), but I really like this show. And before TBS was just the channel where I watched those two hour blocks of 'Friends' and 'Sex and the City'.

Thursday
Re-runs of 'The Simpsons', 'Friends', and 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
Since Thursday is the day before Friday, the last school day of the week I only have time for one show (homework and studying and all), and as much as I love 'Grey's Anatomy', that show has gotta be CSI. This season has been just brilliant. Ahhh. Oh, and 'The Office'. but I watch those episodes on Saturdays off the net.

Friday
Nothing good on Fridays. Except for 'Justice' which I really do love but stopped watching around the sixth episode because I didn't know which night it had moved too, until i saw that it had moved to Friday and I was all like "What the hell? Nothing good is on on Friday nights because Friday night is movie night!"

Saturday
College football.
Ahhh, all that's left is bowl games and the national championship, but gosh it's been a great season. Except for when UCLA beat USC.

There are some shows that I never EVER miss.
My favorite T.V. show as of right now, is That 70's Show. I absolutely love that show. (Never got into the spin-off about the 80's) I watched the special last night about the voted best episodes...funny, funny stuff.
I also make a point to catch:
The Daily Show
Biography (when it's someone interesting)
SNL
Designer's Challenge
Sponge Bob Square Pants and Dextor's Lab
Felicity

tell me your favs

I like action shows.

I don't watch any new tv shows. It seems like I only get into shows after they come off air and I end up having to watch reruns.

I'm obsessed with Friends. I bought the box set and my god I've seen all the episodes at least 3 times. And my guilty pleasure is America's Next Top Model because I get a kick out of watching Tyra Banks acting like Oprah to bitchy (but pretty) wannabe models. Ooh and I'm starting to get into Gilmore Girls.

I am HUGE into Entourage. I am starting to get into Big Love a little bit. Also, John from Cincinnati has been pretty good. I guess I am a fan of HBO shows.

There's nothing usually on at all on Fridays or Saturdays (which is good since those are my 2 days off work) but I usually download South Park, Stargate Atlantis, and The 4400 every week since the Canadian channels are 6 months to 2 years behind on them (and yet we get Pushing Daisies a day earlier than ABC).

PS:
Oh yeah and Lost whenever that returns and I'll be checking out the new Sara Connor Chronicals Terminator series once that starts too.

The only two scripted shows that I make an effort to watch every time they're on are 30 Rock and The Office. 30 Rock is by far the best program on network American television. It's top-notch. And the quality of the americanized Office has leap-frogged it's British counterpart, at least in my eyes. Those are two really fine shows NBC has going on Thursday nights.

I also check out Saturday Night Live, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Pushing Daisies, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Jimmy Kimmel Live from time to time. But, yeah, not religiously. I'm especially burnt out on Pushing Daisies, but I feel like I have to see that thing through to the end. And, of course, I mix in a steady diet of cable news and ESPN.

The one show that I'd really like to get into is Mad Men, but I'm afraid it won't live up to all the hype.
