He's back baby! 5-2 last week. You can't stop me, you can only hope that I'll just shut the eff up at some point. Now a sparkling 35 -21 on the season I bet you're all just chomping at the bit to know who's going to win this week. Or not, I'm a bit of a dork so I may be seriously over valuing my weekly contribution to this; the best damn fantasy football league. Period.
Boy we had some great games last week didn't we? And this week looks like another fine week of games as well. We now have no less than 9 teams with .500 records or better! 9! That is pretty awesome in and of itself and this week several of those team face off to give an even clearer glimpse of who's coming and who's going. Let's get to it shall we?
PW's Odd Squad vs. Gadsden Flag
Ah yes, this is Jay's first year of FFB and now he gets the unenviable task of rooting for his home team while at the same time watching his fantasy team face off against Tom Brady and Wes Welker. Ack, heartache. New England must win in order to keep pace and since they are facing a decent run defense Brady looks set to have another one of those crazy passing days that always makes a fantasy owner happy. How does one root for that exactly? Is there a formula where the Pats can win without Brady having a good day? Jay surely hopes so. Also Gadsden is without All Day Peterson this week and must hope that 'Purple jesus lite' misses the bus down to Cincinnati this Sunday. I may very well miss on yet another pick for my team this week but I'm going on record and saying I really like my chances this week.
My pick: The Squad captures the flag
11 Angry Men vs Wolverines
"I hate fantasy football!!!" Was the mantra this last Sunday as Mike's 'Bots ran over the hapless Wolverines last week. I did the best I could for ya LT. I hear you got yourself a nice little consolation prize after the big game (and no Petey, I don't mean a shocker) so the weekend wasn't a total loss. At this point its pretty obvious to this reporter that we're all chasing that second spot to get the bye along with our very own Master Jedi, Yoder. His team has continued to roll after a slight stubbing of the toe two weeks ago and unless Carolina comes to play, his boys look set to have another monster day. Carolina has been pretty terrible with the exception of last week of course, but still. I bet Brees and Brady will be 1 and 2 on most fantasy boards come Sunday and with good reason.
My pick: 11 Angry Men roll on
Da Bears vs. Team Darcy
After going 5-0, Team Darcy is in a free fall with 3 straight losses. Her team must right the ship immediately, but to do so she must face down a team who's on a roll of his own. 4in a row now for the Da Bears and looking for more. Yahoo has this pegged right now as almost dead even. Only 1.59 little points are separating the two teams. What a game. To be honest, I don't really care who wins as long as they both somehow lose. Yeah. It sounds like Reggie Wayne may be a little banged up and Indy struggled a bit last week against San Fran so I guess based on that little tidbit I may have to go with...
My pick: Da Bears by a link
Hired Goons vs. TONGO
See what happens when you mellow out a little Tongo? Your team is actually favored this week. Interestingly enough however is that even though these two teams are playing each other this week they still went ahead and made a trade with each other. Badger is staunchly standing by Eddie Royal for better or worse and got rid of a nice little receiver in Walter. I hope it works out for ya little buddy. Badgers are so cute. Anywho.
My pick: TONGO gets a second wind
The Tatreraters vs. Flash
Totus anctus = in a world of pain. It's not all bad though Flash, you live in a nice warm part of the country, so you got that goin' for ya... which is nice.
If Peyton goes off then Flash may squeak this one out here. Trouble is once you wend your way through Flash's Colts the rest of his team needs help. Julius Jones could definitely score this week against Detroit, I mean, doesn't everybody? But other than that he could be in trouble. On the flip side though Tater is still trotting out 2 receivers from Cincinnati. Is this a homer move? You be the judge. Big Ben will probably have a decent day against Denver if he can avoid turnovers and of course the big wild card is Ryan Grant. He may get 10 points or 30. Very hard to guage.
My pick: Flash, carpe diem
Beantown Champs vs. The Replicants
After Mike's slapdown of his special lady friend last Sunday he looks to continue his popularity amongst his friends by whipping up on his buddy Petey. His team certainly looks primed to do so. Even if Ronnie Brown doesn't have a good day against the Pats he's still got Megatron who as yet is still looking for a team to go off on this season. I give you the Seattle Seahawks. They have allowed more career days to more players than I can even tell you here because its simply to painful to list them all much less re-live for even a second. Detroit may very well lose the game but I am expecting a pretty day from Megatron. I think this may end up being closer than the 19 point margin Yahoo has it at right now but the 'Bots look like they will make the move into second all by their lonesome.
My pick: The Replicants, Shocka yourself buddy!
Slug's Sweeties vs. I-L-M-F
Two teams that appear to be heading in different directions. Boldin is hurt but refuses to sit for a few games to get right. Breaston is also hurt and has been for most of the year, so Slug may be faced with going with out one ore both of the stud receivers this Sunday. On the flipside though Romo goes to Philly and who knows which Romo will show up. If its the Romo from the last two weeks then Bobby should take his third victory in as many weeks. Plus, Keller is on a bye this week so now he'll be forced to play Celek and now maybe he'll figure out how good of a TE Celek really is.
My pick: I-L-M-F Who's Brent Celek?
So there you have it MoFo's another week in the books. I suppose they'll go ahead and play the games anyhow, but really. Do they really need to now that I've told you who's going to win?
Have fun kids.
Oh, and another interesting thing about Brett Favre :babbling:
TONGO Vs Hired Goons
Actually I feel very confident, but in all honesty Eddie Royal is due sometime. I remember when I had him last year, and ..well..its weird how underutilized he is now. Jamal Lewis isnt great, but amazingly scores more than what McGahee has since Rice became main carrier. I have the other Jamaal running in his one night gig cause Larry Johnson gets on Twitter stoned. Also can Cedric Benson get over 100 yds vs the Ravens twice in a season? Wait a minute! Aaron Rodgers Vs the Buccaneers! Oh who am I bullsh!tting...Hired Goons. Just because.
Gadsden Flag Vs PWs Odd Squad
Miami is tough theyre no joke, and held the Saints scoreless for more than half a football game. Theyre running game is the best in the NFL with no signs of slowing down. Theyll control the clock, and Brady will be watching from the bench. Baltimore Vs Cinncinatti is gonna be one of the games of the week, and I cant pick which will win. I think the Giants are gonna kill Gadsdens chances this week as two slots are NYG WRs. Odd Squad squeeaakes by!
Slugs Sweeties Vs M.I.L....er no I mean I.L.M.F.
Never has a Bye week produced a universal breath of relief, but yes Brent Celek is in. Philly Dallas will be a great game. Maybe Philly isnt up to snuff cause the Giants arent looking tall this season. Anyway both Dallas and Phillys worth will be gauged well with this matchup. As for the fantasy matchup I believe Slugs running game will save him this week. Slug gets sweet on Megan
11 Angry Men Vs Wolverines
LOL! Didnt take LTizzy long to switch out her Bye players! I could drone on, but in a nutshell believe the Saints will lose to Carolina this weekend. Having said that this is probably the Saints year to-go-all-the-way!!!, buuuut, Wolverine raises body count by 11 this week
Taterators Vs Flash
I agree with Spuds decision to go 2 WRs from Cinnci as Palmer has a hot hand. BaDumCh! Big Bens gonna have trouble with an incredible Denver D though. On the flipside Peyton Manning is going to hurt that Houston Ds pride, and Tater will look like he ran headfirst into a George Forman grill. Fried in a flash!
DaBears Vs Team Darcy
Easily the game of the week. In fact this matchup is so close, and talent spread out not just in one team its near impossible to call.
Here - Darcys due! DaBears get DaDarcycized!
Beantown Champs Vs The Replicants
Replicants look good this week, Im liking every one of his matchups. Beantown looks good on all his matchups too, but the talent lies with the replicator. Replicants take the championship!

Yes. I've more-or-less written off this week - even if only so I can relax and enjoy the Pat's divisional game that will undoubtedly have playoff implications.
This is the reason I was stressing so hard about beating Dionne last week. It's my first opportunity to take a loss and still remain over .500. But, make no mistake, you're mine in week 10, Tongo ;).
Great write-ups as usual, guys!

Yes. I've more-or-less written off this week
That's how I felt last week. To be honest, I've written off the rest of the season.
"[Miles Austin] gets the ball thrown correctly his way. I'm stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody who's been here's balls are there. Our footballs are everywhere right now." - Roy WIlliams - Cowboys WR
Hey Roy, I think I speak for everyone here when I ask:
Just what the hell are you talking about???
:D

He'd be good for the Monday Night Football booth. Id rather hear a genuine yet stupid athlete compared to some dumb*sses trying hard to sound smart. Imagine in 5 years.....Bob Costas, Ray Lewis, and Terrell Owens. LOL! You cringe but it would draw huge ratings, and the best thing since Cossell and Meredith. People used to watch Monday Night Football sometimes just to hate Cossell! T.O. would find his second calling
Edit in - I found on an ESPN link a fantasy football league that has real NFL football players playing. Run by the National Players Association. Ronnie Brown, DeAngelo Williams, Matt Forte, etc.... Maybe fantasy football is whats holding back Roy Williams game this year?

I know MoJo also plays, as he mentioned it at one point - he also said he drafted himself first round!

 Did he? Probably a good call, I wonder if Peterson was still available when he picked himself.
Their league is ridiculously tight too. There was even a tie once! In fantasy football?! With how scorings done to the fraction thats a freak occurence. Stasinski has a 5 game winning streak, and look who his QB is - Drew Brees. The league Im leading hes my QB too, and seems to be the common factor in alot of leagues Ive browsed.
Alot of the guys did some cool interviews about their fantasy football involvement...

Hello gentlemen. I'm coming to you live from Washington D.C., inside a motel room that, thankfully, has WiFi. Gonna be out and about tomorrow so I won't find out how my team is doing until the evening, most likely, but there's a small chance I'll find myself a coffee shop in the afternoon for a status update.
Naturally, I've got a killer decision again this week; Steve Slaton, who apparently isn't even starting this week (which is beyond ridiculous, as far as motivational ploys go), or Tim Hightower. Given the silliness surrounding Slaton and how good Hightower's been in the PPR format this should be a no-brainer, but Wells is sneaking up there a bit and I hear they're trying to throw downfield more, so I'm less certain.
The good news is that backs like these, who catch passes, easily put up 8-10 points if they play a decent amount. Think that makes Hightower a safer choice, as there's less chance of him getting basically shut out, and the reason for worrying about him is kinda speculative, anyway.
The Lady, for the record, prefers Slaton. :D
Talk to you guys soon. At the very least the hotel in Annapolis should also have WiFi, so I'll be on tomorrow night at the latest. Good luck everyone!
Well if Slatons is the highest scoring RB on your roster then Im gonna want her to do my lineup next week. Sorry to not be seeing you today on Stat.
Also to WBadger I wont be playing Kevin Walter today since Jamal Lewis is on a bye. Seems fair.
Im ready for some football...

It really makes no difference to me if you play Kevin Walter this week. Your team.
Ok my fantasy football freaks! Let us all have a good day and lets hope a holy miracle happens for me and I beat the pants off of YODER lol! Have I told you all that bye weeks suck? Oh well bye weeks suck ......tiz fantasy and you just never know whats going to happen !!! Well enjoy your day folks and lets get it on :)
I hope you win LTizzy.
With my Walter adjustment me n Goons game is gonna be closer than hell. Hope Johnny Knox, Maurice Morris, and Jamaal Charles work out for me this week. Wouldnt it be something if the Ravens go back to a 2 man running game today, and McGahee finally blows up again?!
Next week though I wont be holding back on you whatsoever upStomp Jay :) ......

It's week 9 people, and that means charred flesh, cold beer and a lot of yelling at the television because its time for FOOTBALL!! The competition is getting harder every week and much more difficult to predict, but being the gridiron junkie that I am, I'm gonna give it a shot anyway! So lets start with....
Slug's Sweeties vs. I-L-M-F -
Here are two teams hovering around .500, both looking to breakout and into the elite playoff circle, both needing the other to choke like a cat with a furball. Both teams look pretty evenly matched up at all the positions, with the Fox looking like he just needs to get his TE situated and he'll be running on all cylinders. Fox needs big plays from all his running backs and he really needs Romo to come up big in Philly, but will that be enough to get the “W”? With no real standout matchups, I'm gonna have to give the slight edge to the Slug with Matt Schaub facing the Colts and a banged up secondary. Schaub has been very reliable this season and I think he will be the difference maker for Slug's Sweeties to take the victory from Fox's grasp.
The Sweeties breaks that losing streak and gets his 5th W
The Tateraters vs. Flash -
Well both of these teams have better records than I did at this time last season (I was 0-8 at this time :( )
but it I know it isn't easy to stay enthused about playing when the post season isn't gonna be a factor, but they show up every week ready to get it on and I'm sure at least one of these teams is gonna be a spoiler to one of us with playoff dreams, hopefully not me. Flash has a lot riding on the Colts/Texans matchup, and needs Peyton to dish out the ball ALOT, with Clark and Garcon getting the majority of the catches and TDs, or he may find himself in a hole to deep to climb out of. Julius Jones may somehow find the endzone against the lowly Lions poor run defense and I think Nate Kaeding will get a lot of field goal chances against the Giants, but Tater has Ryan Grant facing the worst team in the league, which could be a huge numbers day for him and Big Ben on Monday night, so he can't be counted out early. I personally hope Kevin Faulk has a stellar afternoon against the 'Fins, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that, and I think thats going be the deciding factor in this one.
Flash peels the Taters in a close one
Gadsden Flag vs. PW's Odd Squad -
This is the week that the Flag really needed All-Day in his lineup, because having to face both Brady and Welker going up against hated divisional rival Miami is really gonna suck, and we all know the Pats are gonna do whatever they can to stomp the Dolphins a new mudhole and redeem themselves of that horrendous loss last season to the Wildcat, which means bad ju-ju for the Flag. The Squad looks STACKED going into week 9 and should take full advantage of Purple Jesus having the day off. Other than Sims-Walker having a cake walk in KC, Jays team looks like its gonna have a tough uphill battle versus difficult defensive matchups and may have to take a step back before surging forward in the weeks to come.
Tom Brady + Wes Welker = SHOCKAH!!!!!!
Hired Goons vs. TONGO -
This matchup could go either way this week, with both teams being relatively equal at all the slots, but Tongo may have the winning piece to his puzzle with Alex Smith facing Tennessee and that may be the key to victory against the Goons. Benson should help his cause with contributions from both Gostkowski and Jamaal Charles, but the Goons have Rodgers and Jennings going to Tampa for a much needed vacation from playing real football teams and they get to scrimmage the Succaneers this weekend and could possibly put up 50+ points in what I'm sure will be a lopsided victory in the Packers favor. Neither team has this one locked up but TONGO gets the edge simply because he has the “Polish Leg” kicking for him and I think that'll be enough for the “W”.
TONGO peels the Goons on his way to 2 and 7
Da Bears vs. Team Darcy -
This is one of those “looks tough on paper” matchups, and Yahoo has this being decided by a few points, but I think its gonna be a much more lopsided game than projected. Team Darcy has been sliding the past few weeks and I think that ends today. With White & Hester both less than 100% and Rivers facing a very ticked off Giants D, I think Darcy has the more favorable matchups and will capitalize yet again on Garrard facing a shabby backfield and Michael Turner running wild like fire on Washington. The losing streak ends today.
Team Darcy puts the losing behind her and gets back to her winning ways
11 Angry Men vs. Wolverines -
This matchup can basically be boiled down to one thing. If Carolina can somehow beat the Saints in New Orleans, then Wolverines wins this one. Yeah right. That would be like me wearing a Jets t-shirt under a Canadians jersey under a Lakers jacket and a Yankees cap. Ain't gonna happen.
11 Angry Men clinches a playoff spot and a enemy for life. Lisa don't forget nor does she forgive. I hope its worth it Yods...
Beantown Champs vs. The Replicants -
So here we are, Mikey and I finally going headsup and me without Steven “If I didn't play for the Rams, I'd be the best RB in football” Jackson. Great. I have this nauseous feeling that this is gonna end up like that time I was dared to run backwards, naked, thru a cornfield at midnite. Painful and awkward. I need a lot of help and some overproduction from key players (come on Reggie!! get me some points b*tch!!) and Gore has to go INSANE on the Titans just to keep me in this one. With MJD at KC and Ronnie Brown at New England, I don't feel very optimistic this week. At least I'll feel better after leaving a big, steaming “congratulations” on Mikey's door step tonight.
The Replicants win today, but I WILL see you again and the next time, you won't be so lucky...punk
Good Luck in Week 9 Peeps!! May the best teams win and remember, anything can happen on any given Sunday!
Bucs win!!! Bucs win!!! Bucs win!!!
All they needed was the power of the orange.
All they needed was the power of the orange.

LeRoy Selmon would have to agree. He was inducted into the Bucs stadium circle today. The Bucs got some great breaks really. I like the old orange more really. Their new uniforms look like theyre the cousins of the Saints, and the plain solid Orange is just more old school tough. Kinda like the Eagles green, Raiders black, or Pittsburgh yellow n black. Nobodys supposed to have pretty uniforms or look good playing football!
http://www.bpsd.org/IMS/Tech_Ed/8th%20Grade/Webpages_06-07/1st-9wks/pd1/hyde.zachery/images/terry-bradshaw.jpg
Alot of close calls this week. Darcy and DaBears are within 6 points of each other as I type this.
I like the old orange more really.
I like them in a nostalgic sense, but when they were in use I thought they were horrid. I like the new uniforms better, but I always thought that something could have been done to improve the old uniforms without changing them entirely.
And truth be told, I've always loved their old logo. Very stylish and unconventional. Was nice to see it resurrected yesterday. :)

Week 9 Update
Poor Yoda's still hiding in his hut in the swamp from the throuncing Wolverine gave him. Since theres no WiFi in the Dagobah System Ill make you miss him more and do it for him ;)
TONGO Vs Hired Goons - Right now the Goons are 23.60 points ahead, and still have Eddie Royal yet to play. I have Heath Miller and the Denver Defense. On average Goons should win, but barely. Yahoo projected finish would put us at Hired Goons 107.01 TONGO 97.55
Taterator Vs Flash - Flash right now is 15.02 points ahead of Tater. Spud has Big Ben tonight, but Flash has Mike Wallace, and the Pittsburgh Defense. Yahoo projected finish Flash 109.39 Taterators 96.37 If it wasnt Mike Wallace Tater would have a real shot.
Theres nailbiters, and then theres playoff ramification nailbiters...
Beantown Champs Vs The Replicants - Replicants are 23.60 points ahead, and no more players left to play. The Champs just have one in Hines Ward, and hes going up against the #1 rated defense in the NFL Denver. Yahoo projects the finish at Beantown Champs 101.17 The Replicants 111.72
Maybe one of these matchups will surprise us.
Wow - close one for me! When Ward caught that second TD, I didn't even want to go check the score. Looks like I just made it!
Hey everyone. :) Back in the swing of things this morning; still a bit of craziness and re-organization to achieve total normalcy again, but it shouldn't be too bad. The trip went well (I should have photos up before too long), no huge problems.
Probably just as well that I wasn't here to suffer LT's beatdown in real time. :D Well done, Tizzy. High score of the week; yikes. I didn't stand a chance!
My team was just so-so this week...low score, but it looks like almost everyone was hovering around the 100-point mark this week.
Lots of interesting little sub-plots developing. PW scores another much-needed win, and probably just needs to go about 3-1 the rest of the way, which is looking pretty plausible. We've got five 5-4 teams fighting for two playoff spots at the moment! Very exciting stuff.
I did not see the score this week can someone tell me who won.....oh right ME....LOL ! The football gods where good to me this week....I should have gambled or something my team was terribly lucky!
WOLVERINES = VICTORIOUS :)
Just kidding great jobs my fantasy freaks...lets do it all over again next Sunday! Nice job to all :)
My week 10 dilemna....SF WR Michael Crabtree vs Chicago or KC RB Jamaal Charles vs Oakland.
Jamaals gonna be splitting the carries with at least one maybe two other RBs. Crabtree is going up against a tougher defense comparatively, but Vernon Davis isnt 100%. Crabtree is tempting especially in a PPR league, but the Raiders do suck a bunch, and Kansas City always plays them tough. Any advice would be appreciated.
Just remember that Football starts on THURSDAY from here on out - Get those line-ups set!
This week Chicago and San Fran get the mid-week game...
Thanks for the reminder there, Seds! Hopefully anyone with a 49er or Bear on their roster will see the notice.
I just hope Tongo gets his WR before tomorrow, or he loses the choice to play him!
Yeah tomorrow he'll be mine Ill be fine. Cmon guys throw me a bone...should I play Crabtree or Jamaal Charles in that slot?
I actually didn't reply because I'm pretty torn. I like Charles and I think he's bound to get more carries at some point and the matchup against the Raiders is freakin' trick.
...but it's a PPR league, and Crabtree seems likely to get at least a few catches. The Bears give up the 7th-most points to opposing WRs, too, and I tend to think short weeks favor offense (though I haven't verified that). I'd probably go with Crabtree.
Thanks Yoda. Yeah I will play Crabtree, but the deciding factor is this will most likely be the last chance I have to play him. No Im not gonna trade him. I have Kevin Walter back next week and he should be money since theyre saying he'll get Owen Daniels old throws. Dont believe Crabtree will be better than Walter, Percy Harvin or Derrick Mason. So Ill run with him.
Jamaals matchup vs the Raiders does look good though....:p
I hate to double post, but this victory last week was the only thing of drama Ive found in another league...
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/913799/matchup?week=9&mid1=9&mid2=2
I had to play Hines Ward only because Boldin was out and I didnt know who his replacement was.
