Cabler is close to finalizing one of the richest development deals ever with Darabont to write and direct a series adaptation of the Image Comics (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Company/main/2061266/Image%20Comics.html?dataSet=1) graphic novel series "The Walking Dead," (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Film/main/131510/The%20Walking%20Dead.html?dataSet=1) penned by Robert Kirkman. Gale Anne Hurd (http://www.variety.com/profiles/people/main/28974/Gale%20Anne%20Hurd.html?dataSet=1) of Valhalla Motion Pictures (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Company/main/2008306/Valhalla%20Motion%20Pictures.html?dataSet=1) and David Alpert (http://www.variety.com/profiles/people/main/119864/David%20Alpert.html?dataSet=1) of Circle of Confusion (http://www.variety.com/profiles/Company/main/2134157/Circle%20of%20Confusion.html?dataSet=1) are also on board to exec produce.
