I already posted all these on Facebook, so some of you might have seen them already, but for those who haven't, here are a few of the photos I took on our trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo on Saturday...
http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267405884_564415884_2302495_5662275_n.jpg
I was ten feet from an ostrich, and you still can't convince me that they aren't fictional creatures. I'll believe in flying unicorns before I believe these things exist.
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267415884_564415884_2302496_4524390_n.jpg
A prototypical elephant family. Notice none of them looking at any other of others. I assume they're having dinner.
http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267430884_564415884_2302497_2609931_n.jpg
The sign at the zoo said that young males are typically shunned and forced to keep their distance from the pack, and this photo bears that out. If you look closely you can almost see the elephant teenager listening to The Smiths with his eyes closed in his room.

If wanting to ride this baby elephant is wrong, baby, I don't wanna to be right.
http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs164.snc1/6133_110267455884_564415884_2302499_5784513_n.jpg
I have nothing amusing to say about this. It's just a couple of elephants.
http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs164.snc1/6133_110267465884_564415884_2302500_7479186_n.jpg
This sums up Pittsburgh pretty well, rivaled only by the fact that I'm pretty sure people were tailgating in the zoo parking lot.
http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs164.snc1/6133_110267475884_564415884_2302501_308928_n.jpg
We're sorry, er, Stripe-y, but your animal peers have found you guilty.
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs164.snc1/6133_110267480884_564415884_2302502_5751279_n.jpg
"Dr. Zaius Dr. Zaius..."
http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs164.snc1/6133_110267490884_564415884_2302503_5627338_n.jpg
This primate is somewhat famous at the zoo for having only one arm (not a joke), and I don't think it's a stretch to say you can kinda see it written on his face. It's almost as if he's thinking "this empty space is where I would be waving to you, if I could." Either that or "I hope the Richard Kimble monkey doesn't find me."
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267500884_564415884_2302504_3992785_n.jpg
No idea why he's resting his head on this log. I still maintain this species was created when one of them fell asleep and the others drew things on his face.

After taking this photo, I immediately ran away screaming like a little girl.

Taken approximately four minutes after the bear hit the snooze button and/or ate the alarm clock.
http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267515884_564415884_2302507_1992447_n.jpg

Why do I feel like this fish is his biding his time?

People said I was crazy when I told them to dip their hands in salt for an hour before going to the zoo. Who's laughing now?
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267545884_564415884_2302510_5223973_n.jpg

The prairie dog is not impressed.
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6133_110267565884_564415884_2302512_7808101_n.jpg
As if a one-armed monkey wasn't enough, here we have a limbless llama. Well, not really, but it sure looks like it.

The Arthur Fonzarelli of llamas. I was *this* close to photoshopping sunglasses on him. I suspect this pose is just designed to sell cigarettes.
