El Mariachi is hands down the best DVD on the market. It has an incredibly informative director's commentary. Well worth it. Just for entertainment value I would have to say I really enjoyed the DVD of FOLLOWING by Christopher Nolan director of Memento. It has a cool feature that lets you choose to view the film in chronological order since the movie is done in the out of sequence style of Memento.

I think I posted about this quite awhile ago, but I'll post the same answer again b/c it hasn't changed.

To me the best DVD ever has to be the Rocky Horror Picture Show 25th Anniversary DVD. It has everything a Rocky fan could possibly want, well, with the exception of Frank's costume ;)

My high school English teacher always wanted me to be in the school play so I told her if she'd let me direct the play of my choice I'd do it... she told me to bring in a script, but didn't really agree with me that Rocky was wholesome family entertainment :)

I did have to teach the class how to do the Timewarp though... was quite funny.

I guess we're talking features and such, and not the actual flick?

If so, I'd say Shrek is at least ONE of the best. Tons of features...I don't think I've gone through them all. There's just too much there. I really dig the Unbreakable DVD too, with the commentary on the deleted scenes (and just flat-out awesome deleted scenes, too...very worthy of the final print, IMO).

Memento was cool.
Rat Race has deleted scenes and a gag reel.

I'd have to put Dogma: Special Edition up there towards the top. For a guy who didn't originally like DVDs, Kevin Smith put so many awesome features on this disc it's ridiculous.

The Silver Bullet

Moulin Rouge
&
A.I. : Artificial Intelligence

both film and features wise would (in my opinion, of course) have to be be two of the best. Especially Rouge. Two commentaries, interactive film, features on almost every aspdect of the film, old scripts, costume designs, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....

ALL HAIL SPARATCUS (http://www.indelibleinc.com/kubrick/store/dvd/spart-crit.jpg) ranks up there with some of the best.

Even the useless features are hilarious to watch. I could spend hours upon hours watching all the features from all the Smith movies I own.

I would say another "BEST" DVD would be the Die Hard Collection. Now there's some features
