Sorry to have busted the rule

Hello MOFO members, I am sorry to have busted and ran afoul the law of not advertising any other site especially on your signature. Just saw this in a thread opened by a new member.

Speaking for myself, I'd love to support your project(s) because you went about it in a respectful way (as evidenced by your thread here).

You're fine. Some won't like that it's a judgement call and not a hard and fast rule but so be it. You've added much to the discussions around here and you're an example of an excellent member of the site.

Aye, we don't have a highly rigid rule. Links in signatures are okay, unless they're to illegal download sites, or someone's using giant font sizes and colors to plaster their posts with DVD sale sites or somesuch. Or if they're just posting really short, sometimes nonsensical posts clearly designed only to promote that link.

But if a genuinely contributing member just wants to link to a project or site in their signature, that's completely cool. :) It's a fuzzy line, but I don't think you've crossed it.

I'm not even sure I've ever noticed it. It's so obvious that you actually want to post here, I never thought once about checking you out for anything like that. Also, Spuds has an itchy trigger finger for removing SPAM type signatures, so if your's was left alone for all this time, it must've been OK. :p So yeah, post away, and put your link back.

Oh, and just in case I haven't said this before . . . Welcome to MoFo! :)

We tend to take very different stances towards spam depending on the dynamic of each individual member, as others as stated above. It's usually pretty clear who is here to contribute, and who is here to simply advertise and move on.

Sir Toose, the link I placed here was not anything related to my projects, it was a fanbook link of an actress in Nigeria who I happen to admire and have spoken to few times. Thanks for letting me know you would not mind supporting my projects.
