I really don't see the hate of the original, personally think it's a corking film that ***** on most other action films in its sheer ability to not give a **** about anything and manage to be completely stupid but still have a grindhouse-esque enjoyment. Anyway, the plain fact they even made this film endeared me to it, if you know how the original ends that is. It's just demonstrates the unrelenting and care free ridiculousness of it all, that or a outrageously insulting attempt to get some more money. Anyway, the film itself takes off right from the end of the last with the 'chinese ****'-cured-by-adrenaline plot device transplanted with an electronic-heart-needs-electricity one. It's an unapologetic copy of the first in almost every respect, and i mean every respect, scenes themselves are the same with minor changes. Sometimes it tries to up the last one but this leads to carelessly throwing around new characters, old characters and anything else they can imagine up to pad the runtime out. Which is the main complaint of this film when it transpires it's following an INDENTICAL storyas the first, just not as developed or even clear. And that's saying something considering the first. However, end of the day, it's just another dose of what was in the first and i loved that so can take this for what it is and admire the fact they don't try to hide it. Jason Statham has a fantastic presence and Amy Smart is half naked most the time. Forget the fact Ginger Spice is in it and you got 3_5

Ok it's a must see for me then. I don't get the hate for the first one either. I mean, when people read the premise and realised Statham was watching it, what did they expect? An Orson Welles picture? The first was shameless entertainment. Jason Statham's quite fun to watch and Amy Smart is bare buff. Sounds like I will enjoy this one, too. Nice review, mate.

Okay, serious response: I might actually see this, if only because these two movies (two so far, that is...) are destined to spawn some of film history's greatest and most epic drinking games. And to commit suicide, drink every time he grimaces or yells.

Anyway, to sum up what I was saying - it's a film I like and dislike for the same reasons. For such a simple film, it's inspired a somewhat complex opinion in me - I can elucidate if anyone cares. And it's slightly inferior to the first film. 2.5

I hope they manage to improve for the inevitable Crank 3.

Okay, I know you won't care, but now that we're on the subject of this film's nudity, Jason Statham's ass has never looked better than in this film.

Since it won't play on some of my Blu-ray players, I had to take it back, but it would play on the player connected to the smaller TV, and I was taken aback. I mean, it just took my breath away.

They need to re-release this film on Blu-ray on a disc that'll play on every player cause you can only really enjoy Jason's ass on Blu-ray.

To be honest, I don't think I could enjoy Jason's ass at all, but to each his own, I guess.

Also, the way they shot that racetrack sex scene made me think they used a body double for Smart's character's breasts.
