View Full Version : Smilie Stuff
Ok, this is the thread I'll use to inform you all of new smilies, and take requests for others, etc. Potential new smilies: a thumbs up, and a thumbs down smilie. Spud has requested a smilie that, in addition to laughing, is rolling around. I dunno if I can find it, but if I do, I think it'd be a nice addition.
Any smilies you don't like? Smilies we must have? Spill your guts...
Check it out, Spudly:

Ah, staking your claim to ownership? Okay, then. I have the feeling, though, that that smilie won't be used in reference to food very often.

I see Toose abusing the  that's totally his thing. I'll only use it when I'm being cute. I'm never mean enough to sprout horns.
Kent, I could see you as this one: :dizzy:
I kinda want to use this one :king: with my I rule, sig.
Chris, the babbling one is you.
Hmmm, you're all REALLY agreeing with my choice. Not good. :nope:

a hmph! one, like the one on yahoo! crossed arms or a "hmph" expression.
and, one like the confused one on msn, bug eyes or hypno eyes, not quite like the green one we have, that one is "eek" in want one like "totally out of it"
i love that rolling one!! too cool. and the licking lips one. hee.
When I look at that smilie doing his babbling...I hear Chris's voice going," eh-um-eh-um-eh-um-eh-um."
That's so true... even when I'm speechless, I've got something to say. :yup: My parents tell me that, when I was really little, I'd talk all the time, but without any words. I'd just slur sounds together and act as if I was actually saying something. Or, when I did know a word, I'd just use that and fill in the gaps with miscellaneous stuff, like this:
"Blahscremelohrsh...car! Tinlotelromm...apple juice!"

My attempt at making a smilie...
Not bad; though it only bursts into flames the one time...
spudracer
03-05-02, 10:46 AM
one time around?
:yup: The flame bursts, and then the smilie is still.

OK, try this one. Forgot to add looping
Okay, I added it to the smilies list...but there's a speck of black on it around the horns...

03-05-02, 10:53 AM
Yeah I noticed that.
Don't know why though, it's a simple copy and paste kinda thing. I had to enlarge the devil smilie so the furious one could fit in. That might be a reason.

the licking lips one is very cool too.

Yes.
I still would like to request the screaming out of hate for others smilie.
Sexy Celebrity
05-18-02, 10:49 PM
I second that. I'm tired of having to just go:
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
How do you properly convey a scream? Isn't this smilie -- :furious: -- good enough?
Sexy Celebrity
05-18-02, 11:29 PM
No. That's burning constipation. A scream would be a smiley with its mouth wide open, eyes shut, and it would be yellow.
I dunno if that'd come off all that well...I don't really use smilies unless it's usually pretty obvious what they convey. Here's some I'd like to find, though (assuming I can find good ones, that is):
A smilie that looks highly frustated.
A smilie that looks hungry (the lip-licking one is decent, but not great)
A sleeping smilie. Now, I've seen a few of these...but usually they're a little too big/bulky, or just generally low in quality. I'm sure I'll find some, though. I have one laying around that is basically a puking smilie, but it's kinda gross, and kinda big, too.
Sexy Celebrity
05-18-02, 11:38 PM
I know... I don't lick my lips when I'm hungry. I'm not some lip-licking lizard!

chris, you silly boy, there's one exactly like Jason describes on AIM!!
it looks like it's mad but it's mouth is open and it appears to be screaming or doing something Cartmanish like, "*&%*^%&^&!!!"
This close enough? :)

Hey yoda I dont know if u ever seen this page but its kewl for smiles!
Crack Smilies (http://mysmilies.com/?cat=aliens&page=2)
Yep, I've been there many times. Not nuts about most of their smilies, however. Too big, or flashy, or amateurish looking, for the most part.
XetoxIc
06-06-02, 05:00 PM
true, but they do have some good ones....do u have another page that has good smilies....I could always use more!
I haven't run across many, no...try a search on Google.com, though...I'm sure others will turn up.

I like the new guys. You're right, skeptical is the best. He's such a good color of blue, too. Thanks for giving those to us, Master. :bashful:
Odd that you should mention the blue...I threw together a similar smilie using the same color/texture as the "main" smilie...I'm attaching it to this post...but you're right, I think the color helps it stand out more, whereas, with the one attached, you might have to do a double-take before you realize exactly which smilie it is.

I likey the blue. :yup:
i havent seen the blue one but i agree with sades, in my mind blue would make it look better, long live smilies! you just gotta love them
I made one today.

Made another. Looks kinda similar.

Are you using PSP for those Chris? I tried one in PSP and it sucked.
Yep, PSP. As you can see both are pretty simple, though. I might try something trickier down the line...so far it's all been relatively plain/simple, though.

Whatcha think? Is the pinky obvious/visible enough? :)
Now, I've got a few others lying around which ya'll may or may not like, so I'll just ask: Puking Smilie (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/puke.gif)
Smashing Smilie (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/smash.gif)
Smilies in Love (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/love2.gif)
Paranoid Smilie (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/paranoid.gif)
Smilies Toasting (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/toast.gif)
Smilie Kissing Another Smilie (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/kissyou.gif)
Smilie Lightsabre Duel (http://www.movieforums.net/images/smilies/lightsabre_vader.gif)Which ones do you guys like?
The Silver Bullet
08-09-02, 10:45 AM
I like the paranoid and kissing smilies, the others seem a little over the top, and the Smilies dueling is a blatant rip off of the Green Ball in Ball Wars...
;D
I find that the more and more smilies people come up with, the more and more seem to just be pointless novelty to me...
Although you may be ripping off ball wars  (and nothing else)...I'm going to say that the duel is the best.
And Smilies may be another pointless internet noveltie, but look at how colorful they can make speech:
" Hey little boy.... :licklips: Do you want some candy?:randy:"
see, without smilies, pedophilia would be a bland, and uninteresting venture. With smilies, it's fun fun fun.

lightsabre lightsabre! i love that smilie.
Need more votes. Whatcha'll think?
the lightsabre one looks the best but the two in love is probably the more useful.
i still think my drinking guy is cool
