I couldn't find a thread for this one , netflix highly recommended it to me - I'm not sure how much that's worth - but I'm about to watch it. Has anyone else seen it ? Thoughts ?

Haven't seen it yet but really want to... so let me know what you think. Seems like someone mentioned seeing it in the Twilight (?) thread...

Suprised it hasn't been in a thread before. By far one of the best foreign films in a long time. A vampire story of the most elegant weaving, and I would highly recommend it too you. Enjoy

Well, if you don't trust netflix, trust me; it's phenomenal. I actually just watched it today, and will probably watch it again later tonight and am going to buy the book as well. Yeah, I liked it.;) I really hope Lina Leandersson, the young actress who plays Eli, gets a whole lot more roles from this movie. She nailed that part.

Agree with Go, this is great, you get much more then you expect out of the story and cast. Not a typical horror movie at all, if you could call it a horror movie.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Nice cinematography and acting - but I didn't find anything too special about it. Some parts had me rolling my eyes or laughing, though...

Okay... so are any of you going to write a review??

Hint... hint... :D

This one is a bitch to do a search for (or I'm just stupid). I know swedish and powedered talked about it and I wanted to re-read their comments after I watched it but couldn't.

Look in the Twilight or New Moon threads... I seem to remember someone mentioning this in one of those threads... and I'll search too...

Used Future's Review (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showpost.php?p=492328&postcount=8986) and mine (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showpost.php?p=491682&postcount=8957).

Actually Holden pointed this one out to me. I watched it and highly recommend it to anyone tired of Hollywood machines trying, in haste, to rehash the story of vampires. Very good movie indeed.

Right, I knew there was something that confused me with other people's reviews (I think that's also a bit of a spoiler you guys). I took Eli's warning that she's not really a girl to mean that she's a vampire. Maybe I missed the innuendo there, but wasn't the bathroom scene supposed to clear that up? I mean I didn't see anything other than girl parts there...*unsure*

I think the bathroom scene was pretty inconclusive, it was literally a split second reveal, followed by a cut away to Oskar's shocked expression. Eli's gender is just one of the many grey areas that make the film so fascinating.

Yeah, you're revealing it again....;)

Just so you know... I tried a search earlier for a few threads that I know are on here and got nothing... so... I'm thinking out search engine 'may be experiencing technical difficulties' (isn't that what they always say when they don't know what's going on? :p)

Oh, and thanks for the links Mark...

Sure, I will soon enough. I'll have to re-watch it because it's been awhile and don't remember much, but I'll put one up a little later. My post above was just my initial reaction to the film, and what I distinctly remember liking.

Thanks for the effort...http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/diezelpower/mazi-1.gif The title is just unsearchable... can't there be an option to search something with quotes, like you can on google? *unsure*

I liked it but I didn't love it ... my review (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showpost.php?p=510622&postcount=1019) .

I would watch this a hundred times before I watch The Lost Boys though.

I believe this (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=9906&page=440) is where the discussion began in the Movie Tab II thread, at post #8787.

Wow, thanks, how on earth did you find it?

I knew that Swedish and Powdered (and I thought some others) were discussing it not that long before I saw it because it made me go out of my way to see it. Therefore, I just went back a few pages from where I mentioned it. Interesting note: Didn't you write a review just after their discussions of it?

Saw it a while ago and loved it. Bought it about a week ago in Amazon. Should be here soon. Can't wait to see it again.

Yes, Swan, you were "the others" in the link I posted. Thanks for being one of the first to see it. Where did you watch it?

At the time I thought the film was never going to be released on DVD, at least not any time soon in the US, so I thought I had to download it to ever see it. I did that, and then put it onto a DVD so I could watch it on a TV rather than a computer.
