What happened to Californication ?

Is it just me or is the second season nothing like the first season. Its not witty or thought out its more crude for the sake of crude. I'm a big fan of S1 and I've given up on the show completely after S2. S2 doesn't stand up next to S1. Does anyone agree ?

I am watching season two, it's only really just started in my country. I think it's OK so far. I do think that when an episode ends it always seems to be too soon, so I must be enjoying that forty minutes or so. ;)
