Microsoft has confirmed that it will soon be offering a limited-edition red Xbox 360 as part of a forthcoming Resident Evil 5 bundle.
The long-rumoured crimson Xbox 360 will launch alongside Capcom's survival horror game on March 13.
The bundle will include a red console with a 120GB hard drive, a wireless controller, a black headset, a copy of Resident Evil 5 and an exclusive Xbox 360 dashboard theme.
It will also feature a bonus card to download Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix from Xbox Live Arcade.
The exact price of the bundle has not yet been announced, but the firm has indicated that only "select retailers" will stock it.
Capcom has revealed that the Resident Evil 5 demo has now been downloaded over four million times from Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

I can't see a red 360 being very nice. I reckon the nicest colour the 3650 has been so far is black.

When the long-awaited Resident Evil 5 (http://tech.uk.msn.com/gaming/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=13802314) arrives on March 13, it will be the first game in the legendary Resident Evil series to hit the Xbox 360.

Duly excited by the prospect of their first Resident Evil title, the Xbox folks have announced a limited edition red version of their console to celebrate the incoming zombie shooter.
On the same day that Resident Evil 5 launches, fans will be able to pick up* the game as part of a bundle including the crimson console with 120GB hard drive, a matching red wireless controller and a (disappointingly) black headset.
Software-wise, buyers of the special edition machine will also get an "exclusive premium" Resident Evil 5 theme and a code for downloading Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, another Capcom title.
The bright and bloody hue of this commemorative Xbox 360 won't be to everyone's taste. The classic white and black models do a better job of blending with the average home entertainment set-up, after all. But fans of faceplates (http://search.live.com/images/results.aspx?q=xbox+faceplate&FORM=BIRE#) might be tempted to trade up.
What do you make of this oh-so-red Xbox 360? Would you prefer another colour? And shouldn't a Resident Evil 5 special edition model have some kind of zombie design on it? (*Supplies apparently "very limited", pre-ordering advised. GAME (http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/Console/~r339955/Xbox-360-Limited-Edition-Red-Elite-Console-with-Resident-Evil-5/) is taking pre-orders for the bundle, priced at £229.99.)

great so now we have a system color that will match when the xbox inevitably gets the red rings.

I really don't get very worked up over color variant consoles. How about one that doesn't die after six months, now that's a feature!

I was thinking the exact same thing.

That xbox matches the entire colour theme of my 'entertainment unit' and apartment :p. Black flat screen, black bookcase (modified into a dvdcase) with a red board stuck behind it to match the red carpet, which creates a pleasant contrast to the black sofas. To top it all of: the black and red Sin City poster within a red frame... But I do think that xbox would make it all too red you know?

Don't like it in red. Though I like the colour red. Just not on my consoles.

How about a pink console that says "oh-ah" everytime it ejects a disc ?
