Alright, hit me with it. What's the best movie site on the Internet? If it's not listed among the options above, vote for Other and post your choice. I want to know which you think is best. And no, I'm not including this site as a specific option, because the purpose of this poll is to find ways to improve on what I've got so far. :)

And no, I'm not including IMDB (http://www.imdb.com) -- it would dominate the poll mercilessly. :) I also happen to strongly dislike the folks over at Hollywood Bitchslap, but I decided to throw it up there as an option anyway.

I gave it up to RottenTomatoes, just b/c I love the tomato meter. I particularly enjoy how they break the ratings into two categories; well known critics and then everyone else. It's interesting to compare the ratings of the two groups. The composite reviews very rarely steer me towards a bad movie, but they have kept me away from some good ones (I am a sucker for stupid comedies).

See, Hollywood Bitchslap caters to my evil side. I don't visit it too often, though.

I don't like 'em. Owners of the site are rude and pretty ignorant, IMO. At least the ones I talked to. Punks. :D

I got into a discussion about Julia. We bitchslapped her a bit; hard to argue taste...I mean, if I can find people who are willing to dis' more than dish, about a certian subject...that's always cool. Like I said though, I don't visit much.

The Straight Dope ...... I'd have to go with http://www.cinephiles.net/ I don't post there much but there's more than a handful of post with my taste and they usually have some good to say with all of there posts.

Next I'm going with RT but there's few and far between good posters there.

Joblo's is the pits they always seem to be posting the same threads all the time, gets boring and very redundant.

I'll have to check out some of the others. There's a few I haven't heard of.

D'oh, I forgot Dark Horizons. I forgot about JoBlo's Movie Emporium, too. What are the best things about these sites? What should I emulate?

 Yeah, DH is good. And yeah. HB's forum is awful. That's how the argument started, really. I was offering them some advice. They eventually, at one point, basically said "we don't care what our visitors want." That's not an exact quote, but that was practically what was said.

I pretty much only use this site for the forums... I use Joblo for the horror reviews (the horror forum is decent), and Rotten Tomatoes for reviews.

I really don't have a particular site that I use for news... just whatever I happen to find.

If I was going to add anything to this site it would be a horror forum and more news... but that's just my 2cents

Have you heard that this site called MovieForums has a wonderful news section!?

Some of the information is even contributed from other members of the site. :)

So if you're wanting to add anything in, or help out with anything, LET US KNOW!

:D Sorry, shameless plugging for the site. :D

I humbly bow before Spuds as I stand corrected... guess if I got off my lazy a$$ and helped with some news this site could be all it could be :D

Well, Chris needs Movie reviewers...I need DVD reviewers, and anyone that volunteers to help out can contribute to any area, I believe.

I'd say that the Movie reviewers and the DVD reviewers are needed(for obvious reasons), if you want to contribute news...you can do that too.

www.cinecon.com (http://www.cinecon.com)
www.upcomingmovies.com (http://www.upcomingmovies.com)
These are two good ones for the latest news of upcoming movies.

I get the majority of my information from IGN. Hence my vote.
I get reviews from Ebert (the bias old fool) and post here.

That's it. I find it easier to do one or two things rather than thousands.

EDIT:
I'm willing to write either DVD or Movie reviews with the exception of course that I can't do anything up-to-date because you are ahead of me. I can however do older films, if the need arises. You know the name, you know the number, feel free to ask me whenever you want something done, either of you.

I was talking to Chris about that, and I think that older DVD reviews are fine, but movies are another story. :)

Sound good for you Silver?

IMO Dark Horizons (http://www.darkhorizons.com/index2.html) is one of the best movie sites out there at the moment

I did "Other" for obvious reasons! Do you really have to ask!?

Logan

Picked "other" mainly because I could.... but also because I think my site is pretty darn cool. None of those damned "pop-ups" for a start and we give an honest opinion of a movie and not a sold out perspective due to studio "kick backs" or "gifts".

cleaner looking site too :D
