Hello everybody. I recently had a tough time when my grandmother died in Virginia. Her funeral really upset me. Since then, I had gotten ill and things got really confusing and distant. When I made my top 100 list, I practically had gotten confused on the whole deal, and it was really just a mess. So here is my top top 100 list, and I hope you enjoy it. ;)

I'm really sorry to hear about your grandmother, VG. :( R.I.P.

Can't wait to see your top 100. :)

I think you might want to leave doing your Top 100 alone for a while. It seems like you're still reeling from all your recent problems (sickness, family death, bad grades, etc) and I'm not sure if that'll really benefit your Top 100...

100. Superman (1978)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvhoGw6gzMs

When it comes to superhero movies, they are usually very good, or alright. To me it seems like there is not a good or bad side in superhero movies. Of course there are still more to come, but honestly that's where it seems to be going. I loved Superman because it has a great musical score, great special effects for a 70's movie, and overall (story and plot). If you like superhero movies, you will like this one.

99. Superman II
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68hRt0Pz7HI&feature=related

Most people like the original Superman. But, for me I liked the 2nd one the best. The special effects were better, the plot was thicker, and the story is more suspenseful. It is a really great chapter in the Superman series, and directed extremely well. This movie really just blew me away. Most sequels never pass up the original, but this one did.

98. Finding Nemo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2-Jrglx2BM

I really thought this movie was going to be stupid when I saw the trailer for it, but when I heard about the movie being so good, I had to go see it. It was just amazing and beautiful. The musical score was amazing, and the graphics of the ocean were just beautiful. Plus, I always loved the scenes that took place in the dentist office, awaiting... DARLA!!! One of Disney's best movies. Finding Nemo is truly beautiful.

97. Ratatouille
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYUjNQrokeg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYUjNQrokeg)

Ratatouille is not just a beautiful story with the best visual graphics of Paris (even though it is), but it's one hilarious movie. I always remember the part in the trailer: "What is that?" "I don't really know." "You don't know, and you're eating it." Seriously a funny movie, and it is fun to watch. Kids will love it, but it is truly touching for adults as well. Really great fun, and a cute movie.

96. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWutJqsk0IE

The best Terminator movie yet. This one outran the first one, but I'm not saying the first one wasn't a good movie. Arnold was awesome in this movie, and the beginning really got me. Robots destroying the world set in an apocalyptic doomsday war. It almost sounds like a Grindhouse movie, except Terminator 2 doesn't have that theme, however the plot sure does. It sort of reminds me of The Dark Knight due to the fact that it is darker and different from the others in the series. Directing was amazing, and the special effects were great. Must-see for all movie-goers.

95. The Fast and the Furious (2001)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG82JNkknTs

To me, this movie is a visually stunning roller coaster with great thrills and racing scenes. The movie was well-filmed and the special effects totally blew me out of the water. The ending is another thing that got me, it is seriously nail-biting and drives you to the edge of your seat (the train scene.) I wouldn't recommend this movie to everybody though, it really does good to the action flick lovers and racing movie fans. However, the movie was very good and I would watch this movie again anytime.

94. Hellboy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob9J3kCELXE

Hellboy was fantastic. I really loved this movie, and the way I see it, the movie is a comedy with action. What kept me going was Ron Perlman's performance, the humor, and the explosive plot and story. The movie was just really good, and it is a great superhero movie.

93. Disturbia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GHz3C5coSI

Shia LaBeouf can be a very talented actor, but I really didn't like Transformers. To me it was almost like a comedy instead of an action movie, and that's why I didn't like it. But Disturbia is a great thriller and it got me on the edge of my seat. I really love thrillers, so this movie was fun to watch. A really good movie.

92. Superbad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNpoTxeydiY

Judd Apatow's movies are really funny, and this one was just absolutely hilarious. It's a teenage comedy flick with hilarious twists and turns that make you question: Is this really happening? The night they have in the movie is really wild and crazy and I really loved that "chaos at every turn" tone. Plus, I really love Seth Rogen, so that's another reason I loved the movie. I recommend this movie to any comedy fan.

91. Alien (1979)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ale6RTqyeKI

This has to be one of the best sci-fi horror films I have ever seen. Sigourney Weaver I am not a fan of, but when I first saw this movie, it absolutely blew me away. It is a really great thriller, and the alien is pretty well designed, and not some stupid black-eyed oval head alien. Pretty impressive.

90. Burn After Reading
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6efh3QP0_lM

Burn After Reading is a really great comedy movie. I am a huge Brad Pitt fan, and I absolutely loved this movie. I really did hate Fargo, but after I saw No Country for Old Men (which is just breath-taking), I had to see Burn After Reading. I did, and well it was a really great film. Burn After Reading isn't just a comedy movie, it is also an action movie and a thriller. And Brad Pitt's character was hilarious, he acted so idiotic and he had stupidity written all over him, so that was really cool. Plus the Brad Pitt closet scene really took me by surprise. That was something I wasn't expecting. That turned the movie into a real serious dark comedy (and spy-thriller.) The movie was just really good.

89. The Incredibles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE_-pwRnLh4

This is my favorite Pixar film of all time. When I saw this movie in theaters, I really loved it. The special effects, sound editing and musical score were just amazing. And we also get to see an introduction into the lives of the superheroes. Honestly, superhero movies most of the time are really good. You wouldn't really call The Incredibles a superhero movie, but it sort of reminded me of Watchmen, due to the fact the movie is centered on their retirement, until they reform and save the world again. A really good movie. So far no Pixar film has beaten this one and I don't think one ever will, but I'm open.

88. Caddyshack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrTqenN1SqQ

This movie was hilarious, and one of the best comedies I have ever seen. One of my favorite actors, Rodney Dangerfield, was in the movie and he played his character really well (his character made me laugh and laugh when he did something stupid.) Bill Murray was alright, but he wasn't real good. I loved the golf club set scene, where Dangerfield listens to music from his set, and can access his clubs from shooting them out of the bag. Really funny, and another scene that sticks in my head, is the golfing scene when it is thunder storming. The end of that scene is why I love it, he got fried. Really great movie, definitely can be called a masterpiece.

87. Meatballs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQiX8ynRRjo

Now despite Bill Murray's literally "mental" role in Caddyshack, he actually surprised me with a great performance in Meatballs. This was a really great comedy movie, and I loved how funny it was. Even though Murray's performance was excellent, I still think the overall reason I loved this movie, was it was just hilarious.

86. Aliens (1986)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zRK4PHtruU

The best movie in the Alien series, just like Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the sequel can own the entire series. This was a really great thriller movie for me. The special effects were pretty good, too. The ending really got me excited, because it was a finale showdown battle. If you loved the first one, and haven't seen the second one yet, then you're in for a fun ride.

Harry Lime

Bill Murray in Caddyshack is one of the funniest things ever. I like seeing the first two Alien movies there.

85. Home Alone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CK2Btk6Ybm0

This movie is so classic. I have always loved watching this movie, because it is really great for the entire family. For the kids, it is an action movie. For the older, it is a Christmas comedy the seems to run forever. The movie is hilarious, and great. Definitely worth a watch if you loved A Christmas Story.

84. Gremlins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h24CFZqSEAA

Steven Spielberg is definitely the ultimate mastermind in Hollywood. One of Jon Dante's best movies is Gremlins. It is a really cute movie. Gremlins is a horror movie with comedy, adventure, mischief, and chaos. I really liked this movie because the Gremlins were hilarious, and the plot and story was clever.

83. A Christmas Story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvMLfSQrHKE

Sometimes, I watch A Christmas Story when it's not even Christmas. The movie was funny (the funniest part being the pink bunny costume scene.) I really liked the part where his tongue gets stuck to the pole. That is always classic. This movie is just great.

82. Cube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01hUyIrubWE

This movie happens to be one of my favorite movies because it is a really great thriller. It will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, and it's one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. The movie is smart and clever, and the movie focuses on the story more than anything, so that is another reason I liked the movie.

81.Speed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w4ms3zTNoE

Speed is another high-pitched thriller that definitely gets your nerves going. It is tense, suspenseful, and best of all: Clever. The movie is just a great thriller and I really enjoyed Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock's performances.

80. The Matrix
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtqU57sR0B8

Keanu Reeves is in this movie also. It is really stunning and a great action movie. The story, outline, and plot all run together to make a smooth but thrilling sci-fi roller coaster. One of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

Vertical Gunn

79. Saw (2004)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFQebvkii90

I really enjoyed this movie. I liked it mainly because James Wan focused mostly on the story rather than the special effects, budget, and acting (the actors were alright.) The movie is sick and twisted and it really got my nerves wrenched. A must-see for horror fans.

78. Anaconda (1997)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrAj3TUo-Po

This is another horror movie I find really great. Mostly, this movie was suspenseful, and it had a really interesting ending, which I loved. Definitely worth a watch if you're into Jaws or any of those creature flicks.

77. Ghostbusters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54l-Z24PPEc&feature=related

I honestly loved Ghostbusters, and I am a huge fan. A really great horror comedy, and Bill Murray's performance is excellent. I enjoyed this movie's ending as well. It's Cloverfield!

76. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1C2gCXo4Gs

The Coen Brothers are really great filmmakers, that's for sure. George Clooney lit up the screen, along with John Goodman, and Tim Blake Nelson. The whole "frog" scene was hilarious, too. This movie was a really great comedy drama, and is worth a watch anytime.

75. Unbreakable
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_f1uCWKZQs

One of my all-time favorite movies - Unbreakable is a really neat action drama film starring Bruce Willis, who held a great performance. The movie is kind of slow in a way, and it takes a long time to get centered on the "actually a superhero" idea, but the movie is great overall, and I loved it.

74. Signs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTgO18G5zjI

A really good film. M. Night did terrific in this movie, and like Unbreakable, the movie is kinda slow, but you jump into the plot and [terrific] acting right away. Sure to please any sci-fi fan.

73. Clue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHEpuz_gUGM&feature=related

I first saw Clue when I was really little. It is hilarious, and a great horror mystery. I honestly could not have enjoyed it any better (well I might have since it's not number 1 ::laughs::) and it really was just a great movie, and I enjoyed it alot.

72. The Exorcist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGdbbVcKJlc

This movie was scary as Hell and chilling. The movie just flipped me out and blew me away, it was just something I had never seen before. A really good horror movie, and the movie had a really good ending, something I wasn't expecting. Well put together.

71. Young Frankenstein
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOPTriLG5cU&fmt=18

A really funny and classic comedy movie. It may have too much of a classy tone, but it was really funny and I enjoyed it.

70. The Empire Strikes Back (Episode V)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tOdwVXg-cE

The main reason I liked this movie, was because it is darker and we get to see more of the Sith As a Star Wars fan, I loved this movie and it had terrific background and a great musical score, too. This is honestly in my opinion, the best Star Wars movie ever made.

Vertical Gunn
01-05-09, 05:27 PM
69. Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones)

Harrison Ford was terrific in [what I call] this stunningly original thrilling epic filled with adventure, noir, humor, and... SNAKES!? I HATE SNAKES!!!

Vertical Gunn

68. Bad Santa
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eeoI17A-1Q

I'm not a huge Billy Bob Thorton fan, but I have to admit that Bad Santa is just flat out hilarious. It is just one movie I can never get off my mind. "What is it with you and ****ing sandwiches?" Just a really great movie, and nothing but hilarious.

67. Beowulf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9qpqyO_dmU

I first had serious doubts for this movie when it came out in theaters. I am a huge Anthony Hopkins fan, Ray Winstone fan, and John Malkovich fan - So this was almost like Heaven for me. The musical score (including the "Army Song") is terrific, and it is extremely faithful to the original story.

66. Horton Hears a Who!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvF1TNGJEXE

After enjoying the two previous adaptions of Suess's masterpieces, I had to go see this one. And I am glad I did. The movie was just hilarious, and I could tell from the trailer before it came out. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell were perfect for the roles, and the movie was extremely funny.

65. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geNlXmmIp7w

I remember when I saw this movie for the first time, I was speachless. The movie just made me glued to my seat, and overall it can be called a [good] thriller, roller coaster, and drama packed in one 3 hour film. Honestly a must-see for fantasy lovers.

64. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlOAHoW-RBI

I honestly thought John C. Reilly's performance was Oscar-worthy. And I had heard he sang every song himself, and that made me think that nobody else liked this movie, or otherwise it would be absolutely praised by critics IMO, due to the fact he has extremely well talented singing.

63. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQMTBHYMDtw

I loved this movie, it is really funny and the acting is great. It is one of those comedy movies where you don't want it to end. Will Ferrell was great also, so cheers for this.

62. Night of the Living Dead (1990 Remake)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk0iGdsN_3M

Many people dislike the remake of the black-and-white classic Romero created. However, I absolutely love it. Not sure why people don't like it so much but to me it was chilling, and a pretty faithful adaption to the original.

61. Friday the 13th (1980)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEgahzAwOy8

Kevin Bacon did great in this movie IMO, and that's one of the reasons I liked this movie. I never really cared for Kevin Bacon, but I loved how well he did in this movie. But then again, the main reason I liked this movie was because it will always be a memorable horror classic.

60. Tropic Thunder
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpMGulWuRzg

I loved this movie. Ben Stiller and so was Danny McBride, but they did nothing compared to Robert Downey Jr. He played an Australian actor and a rough-trade war dog, and that really impressed me. Plus, the movie is hilarious.

59. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9podUETps8

Like Superbad, this one made me laugh so hard, I really couldn't control it at all. A really great movie. But I hate Russell Brand, but that didn't stop the movie from being good, now did et eh?

Vertical Gunn

58. The 40-Year-Old Virgin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzuemKlQnQU

Nothing but a comedic masterpiece.

57. Elf
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvtmsqyOkhc

I have no idea why nobody likes Elf. Everybody treats it like Gigli or something. I mean come on, it has comedic spirit, a great Christmas family comedy tone, and just humor which I find funny. I don't see anything wrong with it. Anyways, Will Ferrell did great in the movie and I think it is hilarious.

56. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smayrqLFKz8

One damn good movie if you ask me.

55. Seven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIBiVBkGwWU

One of the best cop films I have ever seen. When a thriller drama turns into a horror, when a movie appears that Brad Pitt actually is "touchy" in, and when Morgan Freeman is profound again.

Vertical Gunn
01-21-09, 01:01 AM
54. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pki6jbSbXIY

The best in the series IMO. Nothing else can be said, due to the fact it has everything the trilogy has, but better.

53. Wall-E
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC86heBo0d4&feature=related

This movie was great as a Pixar film, a comedy, and a movie overall. Filled with spectacle, humor, family, emotion, beauty, and power - Wall-E takes it all the way, and that's for sure.

52. Forrest Gump
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdsMqRaz2WY

Tom Hanks did damn well in this movie, and that is why it is one of my all-time favorites. Not only that, but the plot and storyline all runs together to create a perfect piece of art, and a drama genreized film.

Vertical Gunn

51. The Patriot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf8yQRQPDcM

Many critics like The Patriot, but they didn't love it like me. So overall, I find this movie really underrated. Mel Gibson did great in the movie, and so did Heath Ledger. I actually call this a war thriller, because at times it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I love a good thriller.

50. Saving Private Ryan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21DYekSbPzc

This movie blew me away. It is just so great. And one thing I loved about this movie, was that it just jumps straight into the action. D-Day can't wait. And the movie's cinematic style was wonderful. Twists and turns are followed by emotional sequences, which promotes the film's vantage point. Very good movie.

49. No Country for Old Men
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YLfpDBzhFI

No Country for Old Men is a gripping dramatic thriller that literally keeps you on the edge of your seat until its mind-blowing climax shoots you out of the water. One awesome movie.

48. Full Metal Jacket
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSQ2WRoqOCA

The beginning of Full Metal Jacket really surprised me. I wasn't expecting something like that. But it has to be one of the most realistic war movies I have ever seen. One thing that kind of made me scratch my head, was the beginning of the movie has nothing in it but cussing. But after the training section of the movie, it barely has any language at all. Not that it matters. I really liked this movie, so cheers to this.

47. Back to the Future
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yosuvf7Unmg

Who doesn't love Back to the Future? It's an 80's flick that is filled with spectacle and humor, sci-fi, and adventure. Very good movie overall, however I really didn't like Michael J. in this movie for some reason - To me it just seemed like he acted different. But the movie was still very good, and I enjoyed it.

46. The Karate Kid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I46ymLJB8r4

This movie is and shall remain a classic in my book. Extremely good and profound, The Karate Kid gained its kicks through the movie's acting, stunts, and storyline.

45. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBJCvPOMjQs

This movie surprised me. I was expecting something stupid and unfunny, but the movie grabbed me by the legs and kept me in my seat, because this movie is just so funny if you understand the tone of humor used in the film.

44. Semi-Pro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vk8RI5yW8k&feature=channel

This movie made me laugh so hard. Semi-Pro is supposedly based off of a true story, which I seem to find hard to believe, but the comedy in the movie is so hilarious. The bear scene is my favorite part of the movie, it is just flippin' hilarious.

43. The Green Mile
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_NH5rqeqe8&feature=related

One of the saddest movies I have ever seen, and a great adaption of Stephen King's masterpiece.

42. Letters from Iwo Jima
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcWso_pwDzU&feature=related

Better than the first one. Stronger than the first one. Clint Eastwood has proven himself a worthy spot at the Oscars, as well as proving to be a worthy director.

41. Big Fish
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfW8qaJL1Fs&feature=related

Magical, mystical, and touching. Big Fish is a tale of fantasy and adventure.

MovieMan8877445
01-21-09, 11:44 PM
Semi-Pro was very average to me, I don't even think I laughed once, and if I did, it was just a chuckle. That's coming from a guy who actually really likes Ferrell's stupid comedies, at least he had Step Brothers later in the year to make up for it.

Nice to see you're back on the list again Gunn.
