So begins the countdown,

100. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (Steven Spielberg, 1984)

http://www.virginmedia.com/images/1banned-gal-indianajones.jpg

Probably my least favorite of the Indiana Jones movies, after Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull that it is. I personally really liked the darker feel to the Indiana Jones movies, I just thought it worked good, I mean not as good as the usual Indiana Jones, but still good. Harrsion Ford like always is awesome in the role of Indiana Jones, I also really liked Short Round.

99. The Bourne Ultimatum (Paul Greengrass, 2007)

http://media.brajeshwar.com/ojustme/i/movies/the-bourne-ultimatum.jpg

Now I was never too big a fan of the Bourne series, I actually really disliked The Bourne Identity. It just always seemed boring to me and nothing was ever going on it, so I almost ended up not seeing The Bourne Ultimatum. And I ended up loving it, all the action a Bourne movie should have with a great plot added to it as well and it didn't get slow once. Matt Damon plays the role of Jason Bourne perfectly, and I can't really see anyone else playing the role as great as him.

98.The 40-Year-Old Virgin (Judd Apatow, 2005)

http://moviesmedia.ign.com/movies/image/article/640/640240/40-year-old-virgin-the-20050809080619993_640w.jpg

Now I really love Judd Apatow, he's my favorite person associated with comedy because most of his stuff turns out hilarious. This is one of them as well, my third favorite of his. Just the gross out humor put in this makes it hilarious, some scene of this movie I just couldn't stop laughing, it was that funny. Steve Carrell was one of the main things that just made this movie so great, Seth Rogen was my personal favorite in the cast though. That may be a little biased though because Seth Rogen is my favorite comedian, so he's gonna be my favorite in a lot of things.

97. Scarface (Brian De Palma, 1983)

http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/resources/2006/11/scarface_million.jpg

Now I know some people may call this overrated, but it's really not, the film itself is not overrated, the 'Say hello to my little friend' line is the only thing really overrated in the movie. I don't really have much problems with this, I mean Al Pacino is just amazing in this, you could tell that he really got into his role in this. My only problem with this is it's length, while I do think that it needed most of the length, I just don't think it has that great of a rewatchability standard because of it's 3 hour runtime. The ending is just amazing, the ending to this may be one of the best action scenes ever in a movie, the shootout is just fun to watch. And I really love gangster movies, so that may be where this is coming from, but I can't deny that I love this movie.

Swan's favourite Indy movie was the one just released???

Nice to see you've started your 100 list MovieMan, looking forward to the top 10. As for Scarface, I usually agree with those who say it's overrated just because too many people I know have a Scarface poster somewhere in their home. Personally it get's a 4/5 from me, but I do believe that Pacino's performance is way better than the movie. I have seen the flick at least five times though.

Yep. What's your point? I'd say it's close to being tied with Raider's, and that actually basically true, although I think I like Kingdom just a little bit more for me.

Temple of Doom was okay, but mostly uninteresting. The Last Crusade was very good.

I know Kingdom being my favorite is like....... waaay out there, but I'm not going to cheat my feelings.

96. Hellboy (Guillermo Del Toro, 2004)

http://i.teenblvd.com/media/photos/1886/46598.jpg

I really loved this one, it was a great mix between superhero and fantasy. Superhero movies have always been one of my favorite kind of movies, but I was actually surprised I liked this one so much, because I'm usually not too big a fan of fantasy movies. The creature designs in this one were amazing though, especially the first creature that Hellboy fought inside that museum. But Ron Perlman was amazing as Hellboy, he just fit into the role so perfectly. I also really loved all the comedy moments that were mixed into the action, it was just one of the things about this that just made this movie so great.

http://a3.vox.com/6a00cdf7e37f6d094f00cd974040334cd5-500pi

Now when I finally got to watch this, which was this year on Halloween actually, I was a tad disappointed. I had expected something totally different, I was actually very surprised when I found out that Jason wasn't even in this one. I actually liked his mom as the killer though, it added a great sense of mystery to the movie, and that ending was just amazing, it really did make me jump, I definitely didn't see it coming. I also really liked seeing actors that I already know well in this, like Kevin Bacon to say, he hasn't changed much, from 1980 to his recent movies. But this was definitely a great horror movie and I'd recomend it to anyone to check it out because I'm sure you really won't be disappointed.

Great call on Hellboy, have you seen #2 yet? Next to the costumes I loved how Mike Mingola (creator of Hellboy comics) actually helped and if you're a fan of the comics (like muah) it's almost the exact same characters...

Yeah, I've seen The Golden Army, I didn't quite like that one as much as the first though. I've read the first comic, and I did love it. I've been a little shlow on getting the rest of the comics, but I plan to sometime in the future.

94. We Own The Night (James Gray, 2007)

http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/sony/WeOwnTheNight/WeOwnTheNight_8lg.jpg

Okay this movie is beyond underrated, I was so excited to see this in theaters last year because I thought all the trailers for it looked great. But before I saw it, I started seeing all these people giving it a bad rating and I was a little worried, but when I finally got to see it I was very surprised that people were giving it a bad rating. I loved it, there were some great acting in this and there were a few very intense scenes. Like the scene where they're driving the car in the rain trying to move places and then get attacked along the way, I would call that a very intense scene. Joaquin Phoenix was amazing in this, now I've always thought he was a great actor, but I thought he really shined in this one. Mark Wahlberg, who is another favorite of mine, also did an amazing job in this one, but I had already expected acting like that from Wahlberg. It was an excellent cop thriller and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it yet, and don't listen to what people say about it because it really is great.

Yeah that's another great thing about it. I thought Wahlberg had a pretty big part, but it sucked because throughout the whole middle part of the movie he was in a hospital bed. I did like that Pheonix got a great amount of screen time though, because I think he's a great actor.

http://www.bet.com/Assets/BET/Published/image/jpeg/f6cc3338-215a-196d-df03-b5be99928920-x_men_2.jpg

The X-Men series have always been my favorite superhero series after most of the Batman movies and Superman Returns. Wolverine has always been my favorite X-Men character too, so it was great seeing him getting most of the focus in this one. This one tops the first one in most ways, and I actually liked the third one too, I guess it can be considered a guilty pleasure of mine. I like that this one seems to focus more on plot than action, because I felt the first one focused more on action than it did on the actual plot. But Hugh Jackman was a perfect choice for Wolverine, I'm also glad he's coming back for Wolverine this summer, because I can't imagine anyone else playing him. The ending to X2 was really great though, I never really liked Jean Gray's character that much anyway, and it was just really epic.

92. Smokin' Aces (Joe Carnahan, 2007)

http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie-gallery/albums/SmokingAces2007/SAtoughkillers-1.jpg

Now I find this very underrated, I've heard this movie get quite a lot of crap, I just don't get why. Now I understand that this movie isn't a masterpiece or anything, but it definitely doesn't deserve all the crap it gets. I find it to be a great movie, I knew it was going to be a great cop action movie from the trailer. I guess it could be counted as a gangster movie, I consider it to be more of a cop or hitman type of movie. The Tremor Brothers were by far my favorite characters in the movie, they were by far the most awesome. They did whatever they wanted to do, and the scene with them in the hotel shooting at all the cops was by the best scene of the movie. This is a movie I'd highly recommend if you haven't had a chance to see it yet, because I hope you can love it as much as I do.

91. 300 (Zack Snyder, 2007)

http://img.timeinc.net/time/daily/2007/0703/300_corliss_0313.jpg

Now I know Zack Snyder seems to get quite a bit of hate, but I honsetly don't seem why. Now I love this movie, what I love most about it was it's stylized action, it was just done so well, and I thought the slow-mo stuff just added to the style of the movie. This movie is really just fun though, I don't consider it amazing or anything, but it's definitely a very fun movie. Now I don't Watchmen to be like this though, and from what I've read so far, it isn't gonna be a lot of slow-mo like 300 was. The visuals for this was by the best part about it though, they were just done so well. Zack Snyder seems to do a good job with visuals, and that's one of the things that makes me like him so much.

90. Blood Diamond (Edward Zwick, 2006)

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd151/OdRodyssey/BloodDiamond_movie.jpg

Now I really love this movie, I was actually surprised that I liked it so much, because from the trailer and the plot of it, it didn't really seem to interest me. Then my mom rented it and I watched it and was blown away, I went out and bought the DVD like a week after my mom rented it. Leonardo DiCaprio is another one of my favorite actors, mainly for this The Departed and Revolutioary Road. He really deserved 'Best Actor' at the 2006 academy awards and I'm glad that he won it. Djimon Hounsou was also really amazing in this, his acting just got so powerful in some scenes, and then there's Jennifer Connelly who also did a great job. So between the three of them the cast was excellent, and then you also have an amazing story added it to, and then you have an amazing movie, and that is definitely what Blood Diamond is. I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it yet because I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

89. Saw (James Won, 2004)

http://media.movieweb.com/galleries/2475/1809/lo/saw_05.jpg

Now this movie may very well have the best story that I've ever seen in a movie, topped off with one of the best endings of all time. But the reason it isn't so high on my favorites is the acting really, I didn't think it was absolutely terrible or anything, I just didn't think it was that good. I mean they were good, not great. Tobin Bell was great for like the 3 minutes he was actually in it though, he just has the perfect voice for the role. It's just so deep and creepy, and that doll scared me for the longest time when I first saw this when I was a bit younger. But the ending alone makes this one of my favorite movies, it's seriously that good. If you haven't seen this yet, I suggest you do, even if not for the movie maybe just for the ending.

88. From Dusk Till Dawn (Robert Rodriquez, 1996)

http://www.solarnavigator.net/films_movies_actors/film_images/Quentin_Tarantino_George_Clooney_Dusk_till_dawn.jpg

This film is just pure fun, I can watch this all day. Okay, well maybe not all day, but I could watch it a lot for the pure fun of watching it. Some of the effects looked really fake though, I could see that they were meant to be that way though. The effects also really reminded me of the effects for Planet Terror, they were just so over the top that it makes them very cool to watch. I also loved seeing Quentin Tarantino star in a movie because he's my favorite director of all-time, so it was good seeing him in an acting role. I also know he wrote this, which made it even better in my book. George Clooney was also very cool in this, I thought he did a great job playing the villain, he should really play the villain some more. This was definitely a fun movie to watch, so if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely need to sometime soon.

87. Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (Peter Jackson, 2003)

http://media-2.web.britannica.com/eb-media/80/79580-004-D6DE0F0C.jpg

Now I'm usually not too big a fan of the fantasy genre, but I really loved this one. The Lord Of The Rings series are like the only fantasy series that I love, and this is by the best one out of the whole series. It was just so epic, I loved all the battles in this one, they were just so thought out and they looked perfect when you actually got to see them. Viggo Mortensen was just amazing as Aargon, you could tell he really prepared for his role. The only thing that I didn't really like about this was that I felt the ending was a little overly long, it should've ended with all of them saving Frodo and Sam instead of adding like an extra 20 minutes to it. I didn't really have a problem with it's 3 and a hlaf hour runtime though, because most of it besides the last 20 minutes were all needed to it and it definitely wouldn't have been as perfect without it. But this is a movie you should really check out if you haven't yet.

The first Saw was okay, but I didn't like the acting at all. The twist ending more than makes up for it, but nonetheless. Saw II is my personal fave of the series.

I love the Lord of the Rings series as a whole (if I had to choose one, it would be the first), so I'm definitely glad to see that up there. :)

From Dusk Till Dawn rocks, too.

86. Saving Private Ryan (Steven Spielberg, 1999)

http://www.virginmedia.com/images/saving-private-ryan.jpg

One of my all-time favorite war movies, not quite my favorite, but it's certainly up there. Steven Spielberg seems to have a fasination with World War II because he's certainly done a lot of World War II stuff, and this probably one of his best. The action in this was just amazing, the first battle on the beach was my personal favorite scene of the movie. I was just plesently surprised when I found out the first scene was full of action and it was definitely satisfing. The last scene to it was also very cool, they have to protect the town with all the germans coming in there. It's just all done so amazing. Tom Hanks also did really great in this, I was very happy to see that.

85.Platoon (Oliver Stone, 1986)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/Green13/images%20for%20blog/Platoon-2.jpg

Now this still isn't quite my favorite war movie of all-time, but it is certainly up there. This one is more story focused, while Saving Private Ryan is more action focused, and that's why I liked this one just a little bit more. I also think I may like Veitman war movies more than World War II movies, I think they're probably about equal though, I still love them both though. It was actually sorta weird seeing Charlie Sheen in this, I'm just so used to seeing him in comedies and then I see him in a war movie, it was just odd. He certainly did a great showing he really is a great actor though, he should get some more serious movies instead of doing all those stupid comedies, even though I find his stupid comedies very funny. The ending scene to this was just great though, it was just great seeing them through some action in it after most of the movie barley had any action in it, I thought it was a perfect ending to it.

84. Forrest Gump (Robert Zemeckis, 1994)

http://upload.moldova.org/movie/movies/f/forrest_gump/thumbnails/tn2_forrest_gump_3.jpg

Now I actually saw this for the first time a couple of months ago, I was a tad disappointed with it when I finally got to see it because of how much everyone talks about it, I was just expecting something better. I saw it again recently in class though, a couple of weeks ago actually. I must say that I liked it much better with that viewing, maybe it was because my expectations for it just weren't quite as high, but all I know is that I liked it much more with that viewing. Tom Hanks did an amazing job as Forrest, you could tell he got into his character. I still don't think this deserved 'Best Picture' in 1994, when we had other movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, and Leon: The Professional that year, so there's something I don't quite agree with. This is a movie that really makes you feel happy though, and is one that I'd strongly recommend, and it's a movie that any fan of movies must see.

I plan on watching Platoon today. I've already seen the movie, but I'm in the mood for it right now.

83. Death Proof (Quentin Tarantino, 2007)

http://www.filmdailies.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/death-proof.jpg

This has to be my least favorite Tarantino movie that I've seen, I still haven't seen Jackie Brown though. I do think that the beginning was a little slow though, but after the first 20 minutes or so, once Stuntman Mike made it to the bar it really picked up for me. And boy, what an ending, it was what everyone was wanting throughout the whole movie. There were some cool action sequences in this as well, most of which was done in cars and that just makes it more exciting. I also really loved the music choices for this, it just fit so perfectly with the movie. This is one I'd recommend checking out if you haven't yet because it's an extremely fun movie to watch, so I doubt you'll be disappointed.

82. Burn After Reading (The Coen Brothers, 2008)

http://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/Burn_After_Reading/burn_after_reading_movie_image_brad_pitt.jpg

This has to be one of the weirdest movies that I've ever seen, it also has to be one of the most confusing movies that I've ever seen. I didn't even really know what was going on a bunch of the time, but I still loved it. It was freaking hilarious though, mainly Brad Pitt. I almost died laughing from his character at some times, one of those scenes was the scene where he was meeting with Malkovich's character in the car, it was just too funny. Now from the Coen Brothers movies that I've seen, they can really make hilarious movies, now this didn't quite live up to the expectations that The Big Lebowski set for for me, but I still loved it. Anyone who's a fan of the comedy genre would definitely love this movie.

81.Batman: The Movie (Leslie H. Martinson, 1966)

http://www.filmjunk.com/images/weblog/batmanandrobin.jpg

Now as some of you may know, I'm a huge Batman fan, and this was a great edition to it. It was a very more comical version to Batman, but I still loved it. Adam West is amazing as Batman, he can just play the role so funny, some scenes I really couldn't stop laughing at. I also loved how it got a bunch of Batman's most known villains in for this one, it was actually sorta weird seeing them in this because of how used I am to them with the newer actors and in the comics, they looked sorta different to me. The movie itself is very predictable though, but I'm pretty sure it's meant to be that way. And this is a movie any fan of Batman would definitely love.

80. Tropic Thunder (Ben Stiller, 2008)

http://img.timeinc.net/time/photoessays/2008/summer_preview/movies_tropic_thunder.jpg

I was actually really surprised when I liked this so much, I definitely hadn't expected to like it so much. Most of my hype for comedy this summer was going towards Pineapple Express, so when I found out that I actually liked this one more than Pineapple Express, I was very surprised. Robert Downey Jr. was absoluetely hilarious in this, I just couldn't stop laughing from the suff he was saying throughout the whole movie, and Stiller and Black were both just as great as him, okay maybe not just as great, but they were sure close. The three of them make an excellent team together, they should definitely do another comedy together because I'm sure other people besides me would love it too. I also really loved the first and last scene in this, it had a great mix of action thrown into the comedy, and I think most people could enjoy this movie.

79.Rope (Alfred Hitchcock, 1948)

http://thisdistractedglobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/Rope%20pic%202.jpg

It's really amazing that so much stuff could happen all in one room, because all of Rope mainly took place in one room. It was a great murder mystery movie, it had you wanting to them to get caught throughout the whole movie, at least I really wanted someone to find out the two of them killed their friend. Another thing that makes it so amazing is that the body is in the room with them, so they could get caught very easily. James Stewart is really an amazing actor, I think Hitchcock just really liked using him because he was in a bunch of Alfred Hitchcock's movies. Alfred Hitchcock is also one of my favorite director's, this wasn't quite his best, but it really sure was up there, this is a movie that I think everyone should once sometime, and if you haven't yet, you should.

78. The Shining (Stanely Krubrick, 1980)

http://philzine.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/the-shining-with-axe.jpg

Now I actually just saw this for the first time not too long ago, my expectations for it were really high, so I guess you could say that when I finally got to watch it that I was disappointed. It's definitely still a great movie, there's no denying that, I was just disappointed. The climax was just amazing though, everyone seems to know what the climax is going to be though even if you haven't seen the movie because it's the best scene of the movie, and it's also probably the most popular scene of the movie. Jack Nicholsen just gets crazy for this role, there were times while watching this that I actually thought he went crazy, he was just that amazing. And him with an axe is just cool, but you should never give a crazy man an axe. This definitely was an epic horror movie though, and any fan of the horror genre would love this movie, so if you haven't yet, you should see it soon.

I was surprised at how much I liked Tropic Thunder too, MM. Before that or Pineapple Express came out, I was excited for Pineapple Express (I like most of Judd Apatow's stuff), and Tropic Thunder looked lame. When in fact, I didn't like Pineapple Express much and Tropic Thunder was great.

77. O Brother, Where Art Thou? (The Coen Brothers, 2000)

http://www.weeklyfilm.com/images/Moviepics/obrother1.jpg

I just love this movie, it's very funny. The Coen Brothers are just so great with comedy, and George Clooney just does this movie great. Some of the parts of it seemed to get pretty weird sometimes though, it was still funny nonetheless. John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson also are very funny in this, them and Clooney make a great team together and they should do another comedy together. Then there's John Goodman, who does just a great a job as the other three of them, he really wasn't in as much of the movie as I had expected though. But any fan of the Coen Brothers would definitely enjoy this movie.

76. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest (Gore Verbinski, 2006)

http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainment/ht_pirates_060421_ssh.jpg

This was by far my favorite of the Pirates series, now I wasn't too big of a fan of the first one, I just thought it was a little too slow. And I thought the third one had a bunch of scenes that really weren't needed in it IMO. But this was was great, it wasn't overly long and the pacing to it was great. Johny Depp does really great in this, this is one of my favorite roles of his, he's just so wild in it, you can tell that he took stuff from the scrpit and added his own touch to it. Orlando Bloom was also very good in this, Bill Nighy was the best in it besides Depp though. I really loved Davy Jones as a character, he was a rally great character. I also loved that this ended in a cliffhanger, it left you something to be excited for, for whenever the next movie came out. And the Kraken was also a very cool creature which I was really glad that they put it in.

http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/13839/34_2008/appaloosa.jpg

Now I'm a little sad to admit that this was like the first western that I can remember seeing, I know I had seen some before this, I just can't remember them. I really loved this one though, this movie got me back into western movies, I loved it that much. Ed Harris is absolutely great in this, but my favorite in this is Viggo Mortensen, I personally think he deserves 'Best Supporting Actor' this year at the academy awards, okay well maybe not, because Heath Ledger deserves it more than anyone, but he would definitely be my second choice. There really is not much action in this at all, there's a couple of shooting scenes, but for the most part it's really just a drama. Any fan of westerns should definitely check this out because I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you do.

74. Mr. And Mrs. Smith (Doug Liman, 2005)

http://bridalbird.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/ushouseproblem.jpg

Now this movie is just pure fun, I remember when I saw this in theaters, it was so great to see in theaters. I would probably put this in my top 5 favorite action movies, Brad Pitt is really a great actor, he's not just an action movie star. Even though he is in this, he really is just more than that. Angelina Jolie is just really hot in this, I've actually been finding her pretty hot in a lot of things now, nothing tops how hot she was in Wanted though. She's really more than just an action movie star too, she can really be a great actress, Changeling is a great example of that. This movie just has so many cool action scenes in that, that anyone looking for a fun action film to watch would just really love this one.

73. Lady In The Water (M. Night Shyamalan, 2006)

http://thecia.com.au/reviews/l/images/lady-in-the-water-9.jpg

This movie just has some amazing storytelling, I honestly don't get the hate all this movie gets, then again I also don't really get all the hate that M. Night Shyamalan gets either. This isn't quite his best film though, this is his third best film IMO, not quite as amazing as Unbreakable or Signs, but it is very close to being as great. Paul Giamantti is also really great in this, sometimes while watching this I thought he's always had that studder because he just does it so great. I don't think many actors can studder that easily, but Paul Giamantti sure can. Bryce Dallas Howard really does an amazing job in this as well, and I was also surprised to see M. Night Shyamalan actually having one of the main roles in the movie and doing it so great. The score for this is also just beautiful, it's just so perfect. This is a movie I'd recommend for people to see at least once and give it a try, because a lot of people seem to really hate it, and I honestly just don't see why.

72. Four Brothers (John Singleton, 2005)

http://onlineathens.com/images/081005/20814_512.jpg

This is a very underrated revenge movie, and it also stars one of my favorite actors. Mark Wahlberg is the one I'm referring to, and to me, this is his best movie by far. You could tell he really prepared for this role because he just got so much emotion doing this. This movie also has a great amount of action that a revenge movie is supposed to have, Garret Hedlund also really suprised me at his role in this. He did such a great job, and this was the first movie I ever saw him in, he also did a great job in Death Sentence, not quite as good of a job as in this though. I would probably rank this in my top 3 favorite revenge movies, anyone who's a fan of revenge movies should definitely check this one out.

71. Wanted (Timur Bekmambetov, 2008)

http://www.indiewire.com/ots/2008_wanted_008.jpg

Now this would definitely rank in my top 3 favorite action movies. This movie was just so fun to watch, I saw it like 3 times in theaters, because I feel it's one of those movies that's meant to be seen in theaters to get the full effect of it. Because I saw it a couple of weeks ago on DVD, and I was a tad underwhelmed, even with watching it on a big screen TV with surround sound, because it's meant to be seen in theaters. James McAvoy was just great, there was also a bunch of similarties between Fight Club and The Matrix in this this, and James McAvoy did a great job playing the loser turned into action hero. I also really loved all the slow-mo stuff added in to it, even if it is a little overused in movies now. And boy, what an ending, the ending to this has to be one of the best action sequences I've ever seen. And the score for it is also really amazing IMO.

70.Raiders Of The Lost Ark (Steven Spielberg, 1981)

http://subbooks.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/raiders.jpg

This is my second favorite of the Indiana Jones series, The Last Crusade will always be my favorite of the series. Harrison Ford is just perfect for the role on Indiana Jones, and that beginning scene that introduces everyone to Indy was just great. It was a perfect start for the start of an action hero, that scene is also what a lot of people seem to know the Indiana Jones series for anyway, because you see it spoofed like everywhere. I also really liked Karen Allen in this, her and Harrison Ford just had such great chemistry together, they make a perfect couple on screen. That's why I was glad Karen Allen came back for Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. Some of the things in this just look so fake though, but I'm not really complaining about that since this came out back in the 80's.

69. Resevoir Dogs (Quentin Tarantino, 1992)

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd118/katiekat0619/Reservoir_Dogs.jpg

Now as I've said before Quentin Tarantino is my favorite director of all-time, and this is my fourth favorite movie of his. My only problem with this, but I felt this was a little too short. I loved that the whole movie mostly was told in flashbacks, it really added a lot to the story. Tim Roth's character, Mr. Orange, was my favorite character in this by far, he just did such a great job in it, even though he really wasn't in much of the movie the whole first half of it. Mr. Blonde was my second favorite character by far, he was just such a psycho, Michael Madsen did a great job playing that character. This may be the best heist movie that I've ever seen, and it's truely a great movie. Any Tarantino fan would definitely love this movie.

68.Die Hard With A Vengeance (John McTiernan, 1995)

http://z.about.com/d/movies/1/0/N/W/O/diehard42007prev.jpg

Now this was my second favorite of the series, not quite as great of an action movie as the first is, but still great. The first is like my favorite action movie of all-time, so I was glad when I finally got to see this, because this almost lived up to the first for me. Bruce Willis was meant for the role of John McClane, I really can't imagine anyone else playing the role besides him. Samuel L. Jackson also did a great job in this, and Samuel L. Jackson is like my third favorite actor of all-time, so it was great to see him in a Die Hard movie, he really fit in with it very well. This one also seemed to have more comedy in it than the other ones, even though the beginning was very racist. This definitely had as much action as the first though, maybe even more. This is a movie I'd recommend to any fan of the action genre, but if you're a fan of the action genre, you've probably already seen this.

67.A Fistful Of Dollars (Sergio Leone, 1964)

http://blogs.kpbs.org/images/uploads/Fistful01.jpg

Now Clint Eastwood is my all-time favorite actor, so it was really great seeing him in this. He's great for western movies, and this is definitely one of them. This was still my least favorite out of the 'Man With No Name' series, my main problem with this is that it felt really too short, the other two in the series are much longer than this one, and it really helped them more. The ending to this was very cool, shootouts are always very cool though, and it was also cool seeing Eastwood make himself a bulletproof vest sorta. He's just so great with guns, it doesn't even look like he tries to get them, but he does. Anyone who likes western movies should definitely check this one out because it's one of the best.

66. The Punisher (Jonathon Hensleigh, 2004)

http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/080325/Superheroes/The-Punisher_l.jpg

This is probably my second favorite revenge movie of all-time, I just find it so incredible. Now I've heard that this really wasn't a faithful adaption to The Punisher series, but I thought it was great for what it was, and I haven't even ever read any of The Punisher comics. Thomas Jane is such an incredible and underrated actor, he really needs some more movies like this that can just show his amazing acting. There were times in this that I thought his family really was killed just because of his acting, and his speech right before he attacked Howard Saints club was just great. That really showed that it had some great writing. And the story was just amazing, right from the very first scene with the weapons deal till right at the end where Jane's standing on the bridge. This movie is so underrated, and anyone who's just a fan of movies should check it out.

65. American Psycho (Marry Harron, 2000)

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/red/blue_pics/2007/03/23/americanpsycho460.jpg

Now this is just one of the weirdest and most insane movies that I've ever seen. This is IMO, Christian Bale's best movie acting wise, it's not my favorite movie of his, but he certainly had his best acting in this. There were times during this that I really had no idea what was going, and this by far has the weirdest ending that I've ever seen. I think I know how it ended, it was just really insane. My favorite scene of this has to be the axe scene though, that also is the scene with my favorite line from the movie "hey Paul!", it was just so funny, but really weird at the same time. So anyone who's a fan of weird movies should definitely check this out because once you're done watching it I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

64.Batman (Tim Burton, 1989)

http://batman.ugo.com/images/galleries/batman_1989_filmtv/batman_1989_9.jpg

This was the very first Batman movie that I ever saw, except I saw it when I was a kid, and I have to admit I wasn't to big a fan of Batman when I was a kid. So I watched it again recently, and I loved it even more than I remember. Jack Nicholsen is just great as the Joker, maybe not quite as amazing as Heath Ledger, but his Joker is definitely a great Joker. Michael Keaton is also great as Batman/Bruce Wayne, he may be tied with Christian Bale on my Batman's, but neither of them top Lewis Wilson as Batman for me. They're tied for my favorite Bruce Wayne though. I also really loved the ending, it was great to see Batman and The Joker face off, because we didn't really have that in The Dark Knight, well we did it just went to fast. I think to love this as much as I do though, you'd have to watched it when you were a kid or you're a fan of Batman, because I'm not sure I'd class this as incredible filmmaking.

63. Alien (Ridley Scott, 1979)

http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/040713/165732__ash_l.jpg

This is my second favorite of the series, not quite as good as Aliens, but still a great sci-fi movie. This one had more of a horror feel to it, while the second had more of an action feel to it IMO. Sigourney Weaver did a great job as Ripley, she really played the hero very well. I didn't really liked as many characters in this, Ripley was like the only character that I actually liked. I also like how the alien barely got any screentime in this one, it added a lot of mystery to what was actually on the ship, and then the ending was just great. It really showed that Sigourney Weaver was great as the action hero, and she should play it some more. And sci-fi fan would definitely like this one.

62. Zodiac (David Fincher, 2007)

http://www.filmcritic.com/misc/mepics.nsf/view/bestof2007a/$File/bestof2007a.jpg

I thought this was a great thriller, Fincher seems to do great thrillers. This is my fourth favorite movie of his, after Fight Club, Se7en, and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. I liked Robert Downey Jr.'s character in this the most, I liked him the most acting wise in the movie though. Jake Gyllenhaal also did a great job in this, it really wasn't his best movie acting wise though. My only really problem with this is length, I do feel it was a little too long. I mean I know it really needed every minute of it, because the movie took place over like 20 years, but I still did have sorta a problem with it's length. It's still a great thriller nonetheless, so any fan of thrillers whould definitely check this one out.

61. Revolutionary Road (Sam Mendes, 2008)

http://www.dailystab.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/kate-leo-revolutionary-road.jpg

Now I actually just saw this for the first time pretty recently, but I was pretty blown away by it because I had no idea that I would like it so much. Sam Mendes just did an extraodinary job with this one, it's probably my third favorite of his, and I'd be surprised if I don't see this take home some academt awards this year. Leonardo DiCaprio did an amazing job in this, he just keeps amazing me, with this, Blood Diamond, and The Departed. Him and Kate Winslet have great chemistry together in this together too, so they were the perfect choices for the roles in this. I do feel that the ending was a little overly long though, but besides this, the movie was great. And I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good drama to watch.

http://hollywoodlostandfound.net/pictures/films/gremlins/gremlins7.jpg

This movie is just so nastoligc for me, I remember when I was a kid, I couldn't stop watching it. This and Jurassic Park are my two most nastolgic movies, and seriously, Gizmo is like the cutest thing ever, I can't deny that. This is a super fun movie to watch, it's more fun if you watched it when you were a kid though. So if you have any kids or know any little kids, you definitely need to show them this movie, because to me this is the ultimate movie that I think kids would love.

59. Superbad (Greg Mottola, 2007)

http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00482/Superbad_482968a.jpg

This movie was my favorite comedy for the longest time, actually now that I'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that it still is. Judd Apatow is the best person associated with comedy IMO, because most of his stuff that I've seen have been absolutely hilarious, but it's a kind of humor that I don't think everyone would love. I was glad to see Seth Rogen in this, because as I said before, he's my all-time favorite comedian, and him and Bill Hader make a perfect team together. Jonah Hill is another one of my favorite comedian's, so it was also great seeing him in this as well. Any fan of the comdey genre definitely should check this out sometime soon.

58. American Beauty (Sam Mendes, 1999)

http://www.getfrank.co.nz/assets/images/Fullwidth/_resampled/ResizedImage450300-AmericanBeauty2.jpg

This movie is just so incredible, some of it seems so realistic. The movie isn't really that realistic though, because I mean seriously who has a family with a dad who doesn't have a job and smokes weed, a mom that starts having an affair with a buisness partner, and a daughter who's just very strange. The ending is just incredible though, you already knew it was gonna happen right from the very beginning when Kevin Spacey was giving his first speech of the movie, but it still blew you away because you didn't know who did it.

57. Superman Returns (Brian Singer, 2006)

http://blogs.e-rockford.com/movieman/files/2008/08/supermanreturns.jpg

This is probably my favorite superhero movie besides Nolan's Batman movies. The movie right from the very beginning is great, and Brandon Routh is such a great Superman. I didn't really like Kate Bosworth much as Lois Lane though, but besides that, I thought this movie was great. Any fan of the superhero genre would definitely love it too, so if you haven't seen it yet, you really should sometime soon because you won't be disappointed.

56. Cloverfield (Matt Reeves, 2008)

http://philzine.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/cloverfield-review.jpg

Now what do I really need to say about this. It's a giant monster movie, made with a very different kind of stlye, what's not to love about it. I loved that this was just such a mysterious movie, I mean we never got any explination of what it actually was or what happened after operation hammerdown. I'd really love to see a sequel about what happened after hammerdown, a prequel just wouldn't work for this though, because then the mystery of it would just be taken away. But if you like giant monster movies, then you really need to go watch this one sometime soon.

55. The Green Mile (Frank Darabont, 1999)

This has to be one of the most beautiful and touching movies that I've ever seen. This was one of those rare movies that brought me on the edge of crying at the end of it. Tom Hanks is just incredible in this, it's his best role IMO, he really gets into this role, and the 3 and a half hour runtime really gives him time to prove himself in the role as well. Frank Darabont is just an amazing director, and I loved all of his movies that I've seen, but out of all the movies of his that I've seen, this is my least favorite out of all of them.

54. Death Sentence (James Won, 2007)

http://www.firstshowing.net/img/death-sentence-firstlook.jpg

This is probably my all-time favorite revenge movie. I do know that the ending was a little predictable, but I can look past that seeing as that's how most revenge movies end. Kevin Bacon was outstanding in this though, some scenes just had some really emotional acting from him, I was actually plesently surprised. Garret Hedlund was also a great villain for this, I was surpsrised about that too, because I usually see him playing the good guy, but he played the bad guy for once. Any revenge movie fan would definitely like this movie.

53. Sin City (Robert Rodriqiez, 2005)

http://gallery.awn.com/data/514/sin-city.jpg

Now this movie was my favorite movie for the longest time, I'm actually surprised at how it went from my favorite movie all the way to in my 50's. This movie visuals are outstanding, it probably has some of the best visuals that I've ever seen. It also has an all star cast to go along with all of that. And I've read some of the graphic novels for this, and this was a very faithful adaption of it, some of the shots in this are exactly what they are in the comics, so it's definitely a great adaption. I think any comic book fan would love this movie because of how faithful it is.

52. Vertigo (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958)

http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/t/3/t3b/Tom'smediafolder/media%20SpCom%20415%20Spring%202000/vertigo3.gif

A great thriller from no one else but Alfred Hitchcock. I do gotta say though, for a Hitchcock movie, I was a little disappointed, because it didn't quite have the suspense that Rear Window or Psycho had. James Stewart is an incredible actor though, I want to see some more movies where he satrs, because the only movies I've seen him in have been a few of Alfred Hitchcock's movies. I really loved the ending for it though, I guess it sorta was a twist ending. And fan of the thriller genre would definitely love this one, and most of Hitchcock's work.

51. Mangnum Force (Ted Post, 1973)

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews37/dirty%20harry%20collectors%20edition%20blu-ray/magnum%20force%20IMG_6152.jpg

Now I really loved the first Dirty Harry, and while this one isn't quite as good as the first, it's definitely my second favorite of the series. Clint Eastwood is just so awesome, I don't think there's a movie of his that I've seen that he hasn't been awesome in. The ending to this was very predictable though, but I already knew it was because the endings to the Dirty Harry movies are supposed to be predicable. This is definitely a great movie to watch though, and Eastwood fan would like, and any Eastwood fan should check out the whole Dirty Harry series.

50. Schindler's List (Steven Spielberg, 1993)

http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/080616/schindlers-list_l.jpg

Okay, so I've seen this film once, and I think with some more rewatches that it will move up higher on my list, but for now, this is the spot that it's gonna stay at. I didn't really get the first hour of the movie, but after that it really got incredible IMO. I suppose with a rewatch that I'll understand the first hour better, but I'll find out sooner. But Liam Neeson is just amazing in this, easily his best preformance, and the scene where he breaks down saying that he could've saved more may be one of the best scenes ever in a movie.

49. Aliens (James Cameron, 1986)

http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/070503/scifigallery/aliens_l.jpg

Now this is my favorite of the Alien series, I think this would even make it onto my top 5 favorite sci-fi movies. As I said for Alien, Sigourney Weaver is perfect for the role of Ripley, I really couldn't imagine anyone else playing that part. I still haven't seen the last two in the Alien series though, so I don't know if this will stay my favorite of the series forever, but I'm pretty sure it will because I've heard a lot of bad things about the both of them, but who knows I may end up loving them. Any sci-fi fan definitely needs to check this one out.

48. Bram Stroker's Dracula (Francis Ford Cappola, 1992)

http://img5.allocine.fr/acmedia/medias/nmedia/18/64/49/73/18857503.jpg

Now I actually just saw this for the first time last night, so I was unsure of where to put it on my favorites list. I'm pretty sure for now that it's gonna stay at this spot, and I had to find a spot somewhere for it because after watching it I really needed it on my top 100. Anyways, this movie is great. The story really has you hooked right from the very beginning, and alomost all the acting is great. Keanu Reeves is the only one I didn't like, his acting just seemed very stale. Gary Oldman was perfect in this though, he's my second favorite actor of all-time, and this is just one example of why. Any horror or love story fan should check this one out.

47. 30 Days Of Night (David Slade, 2007)

http://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/Thirty_30_Days_of_Night/30_days_of_night_movie_image_josh_hartnett_and_melissa_george__1_.jpg

This is one of my all-time favorite horror movies, I find it very underrated. I've seen this movie getting a lot of hate, but I honestly don't see why. I personally love it, it's probably my favorite vampire movie of all-time. Josh Hartnett was great in this, he should get some more serious roles like this, because I mainly see him in stupid comedies. This movie is very gory though, so it's perfect for any horror fan. So horror fans really need to check this out.

46. The Mist (Frank Darabont, 2007)

http://jargontalk.googlepages.com/the_mist_film-lg.jpg

This is my second favorite Frank Darabont movie, right after The Shawshank Redemption. Like I said in The Punisher, Thomas Jane is such an underrated actor, because he was simply amazing in this. The best scene acting wise was in Thomas Jane in the very last scene of the movie, the acting in that one scene was just perfect. Marcia Gay Harden did a great job playing the 'bad guy' in this though, she really seemed crazy at times during the movie. And the effects for The Mist were just great, maybe some of the best I've seen. I think this is a movie that everyone needs to see eventually.

http://www.hollywoodfilmreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/indiana_jones_and_the_last_crusade_sean-connery.jpg

My favorite out of the Indiana Jones series, Harrison Ford like I said before is just perfect for the role of Indiana Jones. I don't know what it was, but to me this one seemed the most adventureous out of the entire series. I also liked the story for this one much better than the rest of them. Sean Connery was great in it, he did a great job playing Indy's dad. Any fan of action or adventure fans really need to check this on out because it's one of the best.

44. Kill Bill, Vol. 2 (Quentin Tarantino, 2004)

http://mesh.chattablogs.com/KillBillVol2.jpg

This is my third favorite Tarantino movie, I just barely liked Vol. 1 better than this. I loved the conclusion to it though, even if I was a little disappointed. It's like Vol. 1 and most of Vol. 2 led up to an epic ending, but it just wasn't what I had expected. I mean I didn't really have much of a problem with the ending, I had just expected something totally different. Uma Therman was meant for the role of The Bride though, she was absolutely perfect in the role. This like the rest of Tarantino's movies, I think everyone needs to see, because they are just so perfect.

43. The Departed (Martin Scorsese, 2006)

http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie-gallery/albums/the%20departed/the_departed-1.jpg

Now I'm actually a little sad to admit, but this was probably the first gangster movie that I've ever seen. Gangster movies are easily in my top 3 favorite kind of movies, and this was the movie that got me into them. I had like no idea what to expect when watching this because the only reason I really watched it because it stared two of my favorite actors, Mark Wahlberg and Leonardo DiCaprio. I thought that even it was incredibly long, it needed every minute of it, I don't think it really got overly long once throughout the whole movie, and it really picked up towards the end of it. The ending I would saying is daring because of how it ended. But anyone who's a gangster movie fan, needs to see this.

42. Rear Window (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954)

http://thisdistractedglobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/Rear%20Window%20pic%201.jpg

This is a perfect movie for suspense, this and Psycho are the two best movies if you're looking for suspense. Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favorite director's of all-time and this is probably my second favorite movie of his, the ending to this was just so great. Now this didn't really have the twist ending that Vertigo had, but it still had an extremely satisfying ending. James Stewart and Grace Kelly just did so great together, like with some other onscreen couples I've said before, they just had great chemistry together.

41. Full Metal Jacket (Stanely Krubrick, 1986)

http://thisdistractedglobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/FullMetalJacket3.jpg

This has to be my favorite war movie of all-time, it's also my second favorite Stanely Krubrick movie. I actually thought the beginning was a little slow, but for me it really picked up with the second half of it. I know I'm probably the oppisote of what everyone else says about it, but that's just my opinion on it. Anyone who likes war movies really needs to check this movie out soon because you won't be disappointed.

40. Kill Bill, Vol. 1 (Quentin Tarantino, 2003)

http://www.filmbuffonline.com/Reviews/Images/KillBillVol1.1.jpg

My second all-time favorite Tarantino movie, I loved the ending to this one though. It was extremely action filled, it's what I wanted the ending of Vol. 2 to be like. But like all of Tarantino's movies, Kill Bill is extremely dialouge oriented, but I find that great because this movie has a lot of great lines. I also really loved the music for this, I did notice a bit of The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly music thrown into this. I think everyone needs to see this film eventually.

41. Full Metal Jacket (Stanely Krubrick, 1986)

http://thisdistractedglobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/FullMetalJacket3.jpg

You've got to love this:
[Referring to Lee Harvey Oswald and mass murderer Charles Whitman]
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): Do any of you people know where these individuals learned how to shoot?... Private Joker.
Private Joker (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000546/): Sir. In the Marines, Sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000388/): In the Marines. Outstanding. Those individuals showed what one motivated Marine and his rifle can do. And before you ladies leave my Island, you will all be able to do the same thing.

It's nice to see a couple of Hitchcock films in there, but why did you include Vertigo on your list if it disappointed you? As for Jimmy Stewart, if you are a fan of I'd suggest checking out the films he starred in that were directed by Frank Capra, as well as The Philadelphia Story.

It didn't disappoint me much, it just disappointed me a little. I still think it's a great movie though.

39. Goodfellas (Martin Scorsese, 1990)

http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2007/09/goodfellasREX_450x300.jpg

Now I love gangster movies, and this was easily one of the best. Martin Scorsese just does great gangster movies, and this has to be one of them. Joe Pesci was freaking great in this, I really thought he was psycho in it. Robert De Niro was just as great too, maybe not as great as Joe Pesci, but still great nonetheless. Ray Liotta was also great, even though he was the main character of it, I thought De Niro and Pesci overshadowed him acting wise. This is definitely a classic, and I can definitely see why it's considered one of the best movies ever made.

38. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (David Fincher, 2008)

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_movies_blog/images/2008/06/24/bradpittold_2.jpeg

Now I just saw this for the first time very recently because it just came out very recently, but I have to include this on my list. Brad Pitt is just perfect in this, now they could've got someone else to play the part, but I think Pitt could've done the best job out of everyone, and he certainly did. I'd be surprised if I don't see him get a 'Best Actor' nomination this year at the academy awards. This still isn't my favorite Fincher movie though, Fight and Se7en are both still better than this, but this is still a great movie.

37. A Clockwork Orange (Stanely Krubrick, 1971)

http://moviescreens.tripod.com/clockwork/clock01.jpg

This was one of the weirdest movies that I've ever seen. I thought the first half was better than the second half, I thought after how great the first half was, the second half just barely didn't quite live up to the first half. I still think this is Stanely Krubrick's best movie, Alex DeLarge was just a great character and Malcom McDowell did a great job playing him. This is such a weird movie that I think anyone who's a fan of movies needs to see just because it's so weird.

36. Wall-E (Andrew Stanton, 2008)

http://boonage.pjss2.net/images/content/wall-e.jpg

This is my second all-time favorite animated movie, and my second all-time favorite Pixar movie. This movie was just so visually beautiful, this possibly has the best animation that I've ever seen in a movie. I loved how there was like no talking throughout the first 20 minutes of the movie, it really added to the sci-fi feel of the movie. It also had a great message, and I don't usually see too many of the messages that movies have, but this one just really stood out.

35. Signs (M. Night Shyamalan, 2002)

http://us.ent4.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/touchstone_pictures/signs/mel_gibson/signs3.jpg

This movie was just so amazing, right from the very start to all the revelations at the very end of it. Joaquin Pheonix is IMO, the best in the film, and this may his best movie. The story for this is the best part though, it's just so amazing. And the creatures design were very cool and they looked very great. Mel Gibson was also very good in this, but I though Joaquin Pheonix overshadowed him. I find it very underrated, because I've seen this movie get quite a bit of hate, and I honestly don't see why. It's just such a great movie and my second favorite M. Night Shyamalan movie.

34. The Big Lebowski (The Coen Brothers, 1998)

http://image.guim.co.uk/Guardian/arts/gallery/2007/jul/22/comedy.films/big_lebowski_kobal-3262.jpg

This movie is just hilarious. Jeff Bridges is just awesome in this, his character, The Dude, is one of my all-time favorite movie characters. Most of his lines in this are just so memorable, like how he says 'man' after most of his lines. This is probably my second favorite Coen Brothers movie, right after No Country For Old Men. The music choices for this are also perfect, mainly 'What Condition My Condition Was In', I listen to that constantly on my iPod. Anyone who's a fan of epic comedies, really need to check this out because you won't be disappointed.

33. Road To Perdition (Sam Mendes, 2002)

http://www.soundwavescinema.com/Cinema/2002/Images/RoadToPerdition-4.jpg

Now I really loved this movie, I liked the family take on gangster movies. I guess this could also be considered a revenge movie, I don't consider it a revenge movie though. Tom Hanks is just amazing in this, now this is my second favorite preformance from him, even though I still like this more than The Green Mile, I still think Hanks did better at acting in The Green Mile. Paul Newman was also incredible in this, this was actually the first Paul Newman movie that I've ever saw, actually now that I think about it, it's the only Paul Newman movie that I've ever seen, I'm a little sad to admit that. But this movie is just so amazing, I think everyone should check it out.

32. For A Few Dollars More (Sergio Leone, 1965)

http://www.italica.rai.it/cinema/film/qualche_dollaro/dollaro_big.jpg

My third favorite western of all-time, and my second favorite in the 'Man With No Name' series, right before The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. Clint Eastwood is great in this, like always, so any Clint Eastwood fan would definitely enjoy this. He does great in western movies as well, it seems to be the main kind of movie he does, but I can definitely see why, because he's just so great at it. So any fan of westerns or Clint Eastwood needs to see this.

31. Fight Club (David Fincher, 1999)

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h271/magicstorm/fight-club1.jpg

I love this movie, I persoanlly think that this is in my top 3 favorite endings of all-time, this first time you watch it is just so incredibly mind blowing. Brad Pitt and Ed Norton just are perfect together, and they're both incredible actors. I actually think that Brad Pitt is one of my favorite actors from all my favorites that he is in. This is a movie that I don't think everyone would love though, because I think you have to do some thinking for it, and some people just don't think much during movie. But I'd still recommend everyone tries to watch it at least once because it's quite an experience.

30. The Matrix (The Wachowski Brothers, 1999)

http://onemoreoption.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/5-the-matrix-trinity-dodge-this.jpg

This movie was just mind-blowing, not just the ending, but the whole movie was just mind blowing. It's probably my favorite sci-fi movie of all-time, and it's just filled with so much action too. Keanu Reeves was actually good in this, I thought, he's good for action movies though, so I really wasn't surprised. My favorite was Morpheus though, he was just such a cool character. And the scene where Neo and Trinity go to save Morpheus is probably gonna make it in my top 3 favorite action scenes, it was just that cool. I think most people can enjoy this movie, and everyone should try at least watching it once.

29. Knocked Up (Judd Apatow, 2007)

http://thevoidmovies.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/knocked-up.jpg

I really loved this movie, even if it was much more of a drama than it was a comedy. This is Judd Apatow's best movie by far, mainly for the drama take on it, it was really a drama with comedy elements thrown in. Seth Rogen is in it, so that already means I'm gonna love it because as I said like twice so far, he's my favorite comedian. This was a great movie that I think most people could like, as long as they don't mind a lot of cussing.

28. Changeling (Clint Eastwood, 2008)

http://images.starpulse.com/Photos/Previews/The-Changeling-movie-02.jpg

This was my third favorite movie of 2008, Clint Eastwood is just an amazing director, right now I'm trying to see them all. Angelina Jolie did just perfect in this, I'd be very surprised if she doesn't take home 'Best Actress' this year at the academy awards. John Malkovich is also really amazing in this, I persoanlly liked his acting and character in this better than Jolie's acting and character. This is a movie I'd strognly recommend people see because you won't be disappointed.

27. Jurassic Park (Steven Spielberg, 1993)

http://www.petesmoviepage.com/Jurassic/t-rex.gif

This movie is so nastolgic for me, I could watch this movie all day. I really mean it, this never gets old for me, this is the very first movie that I ever saw. I remember that when I was a kid, there were days that I'd watch this twice in one day. The effects were just so great, and they could definitely be considered ahead of their time because these effects are better than some of the effects we have today. Everyone needs to watch this movie at least once sometime, but be warned after you watch it once, it'll be hard not to watch it again.

26. Million Dollar Baby (Clint Eastwood, 2004)

http://www.blackmailmag.com/images/CINEMA/million_dollar_baby.jpg

I don't know what it is, I like automatically love anything Eastwood is in, and this is defintely not an exception. This movie is just as great as many of his movies, the ending is just so depressing though. The ending really adds to the story though, and I already knew what was going to happen, but I was still surprised when it actually happened. Morgan Freeman's narration in this was really amazing though, he does great for narrating movies. But seriously, go and watch this movie if you haven't yet.

25. Die Hard (John McTiernan, 1988)

http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainment/ht_die_hard_070626_ms.jpg

This is the ultimate action movie IMO, this movie also marked the birth of a great action hero, John McClane. I also know that Bruce Willis seemed to get really popular just from this one movie, and I'm glad, because if he wasn't in this, then he probably wouldn't be in a lot of movies that he's in, and the movies would be different. This movie has everything any fan would love though, a great mix of story and action, it's not just a full on action movie with no plot, it's a mix of both and it works so great.

24. The Shawshank Redemption (Frank Darabont, 1994)

http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2004/09/23/shawshank_wideweb__430x277.jpg

This is just one of those movies that after you finish watching, you just feel really happy for some reason. This movie has it all, including a great friendship story, between Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman narrates this like he narrates Million Dollar Baby, and like in Million Dollar Baby, the narration for this is great. Tim Robbins has some of the best acting that I've ever seen in this. I think to be a movie buff, you have to see this movie sooner or later.

23. Unbreakable (M. Night Shyamalan, 2000)

http://www.independentcritics.com/images/unbreakableSPLASH.jpg

My favorite M. Night Shyamalan movie by far, it may be because I love superhero movies so much. Bruce Willis is just an incredible actor, and him and Samuel L. Jackson just make a great team together. This movie also had one of the most beautiful scores that I've ever heard, the score is really just amazing, James Newton Howard is probably my favorite movie composer. I also loved how this was a superhero movie that was totally original and it's really not your typical superhero movie.

22. Se7en (David Fincher, 1995)

http://content9.flixster.com/photo/32/75/59/3275599_gal.jpg

This is one of those movies you have to see to get what's so incredible about it. Especially the ending of it, I think this may have my all-time favorite movie ending of all-time. I couldn't even believe the ending even after I saw it, it took me a few minutes after watching to calm down enough to talk about it. Brad Pitt is just amazing, he's just in too many of my favorite movies, he's just an incredible actor. Morgan Freeman is incredible too, I think he has to be one of my all-time favorite actors as well, because he's in a lot of my favorites as well.

21. 12 Angry Men (Sidney Lumet, 1957)

http://thesituationist.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/12-angry-men.jpg

This is just an incredible movie, the acting in it alone is way ahead of it's time. Henry Fonda is just an amazing actor in this, I think Lee J. Cobb just overshadows him though, mainly just because his character just has so much more emotion than Fonda's character. It's amazing that the story was even filled, I mean it's amazing that so much can happen just taking place in one room. I think everyone needs to watch this movie just to see the acting, and get what I mean by it's acting way ahead of it's time.

20. Dawn Of The Dead (Zack Snyder, 2004)

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b172/iancharo989/Dawn-of-the-dead-2004-zombies-2.jpg

I don't know, maybe it's just me but I really love this movie. This was one of the first zombie movies that I ever saw, and I automatically loved it, it's what made me love zombie movies so much. Zack Snyder is such a great and underrated director, because I've seen him get quite a bit of crap. I actually have a lot of hope for Watchmen because he's directing it.

19. Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock, 1963)

http://hahnathome.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/psycho3.gif

This was the first Hitchcock movie that I ever saw, and instantly loved it. This is like the perfect horror movie IMO, it just creeps me out so much. Especially the last shot of Norman Bates in the jail cell, that face he gives you is just so freaking creepy, it sends shivers down your spine. Anthony Perkins is just amazing in this, he does the perfect job playing a psycho, because at times I really believed that he was actually a psycho. This a movie strongly recommend for horror movie fans.

18. V For Vendetta (James McTeigue, 2005)

http://moviesmedia.ign.com/movies/image/article/674/674429/v-for-vendetta-20051208093357493-000.jpg

I just really love this movie, it's just so outstanding. Hugo Weaving was perfect in the role of V, the movie itself is very political. The scene underground with V and all the police was just awesome though, it really showed you how amazing the action for V For Vendetta are. The visuals are also very amazing in this, some of them reminded me of The Matrix, but it's from the same creators as The Matrix so I'm not surprised. There's also a bunch of great lines in this that are very memorable, I'd recommend it.

17. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Milos Forman, 1975)

http://www.geocities.com/lee_ngaifun/easter_images/ep_cuckoo.JPG

Jack Nicholsen is just amazing in this, this is easily his best preformance. He did a great job playing a crazy person, and it's a movie a lot could enjoy. I know some people could find ir boring though, I don't see why though, because I've seen some boring movies and this definitely isn't even close to being one of them. I think if you haven't had a chance to see this yet, you should sometime soon because you won't be disappointed.

16. Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood, 1992)

http://nighthawknews.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/unforgiven.jpg

Now I love westerns movies, and this is definitely one of them. Even though Eastwood isn't as young in this one as he is in his other ones, he's still great in this one. I think him directing it helped a lot too, this one focused more on drama than most of Eastwood's other westerns, but I loved that it did, because it added more to the story. And the ending was just awesome, great to see Eastwood back to his usual self.

15. The Godfather (Francis Ford Cappola, 1972)

http://basetta.pupazzo.org/site_media/postings/godfather.jpg

Now while I didn't quite love this one as much I loved Part II, this was still an amazing movie overall. It was really epic, and it's super long runtime didn't even bother me at all, I was very happy with that. I was surprised at how so much could happen in one movie though, it definitely needed it's long runtime because it was just so filled with stuff. James Caan's character, Sonny, was my favorite character in this, I just loved that his character took charge all the time, but I hated his fate, I was upset when it happened. But this movie is still perfect, you have to watch this movie to become a movie buff IMO.

14. The Godfather: Part II (Francis Ford Cappola, 1974)

http://upload.moldova.org/movie/movies/g/godfather_part_II/thumbnails/tn2_godfather_the_II_1.jpg

Now I just barely liked this one more than the first, it was just more epic and more greater stuff in it. Now that also may be because this one is like 30 minutes longer than the first, I was actually very plesently surprised that I had no problem with the length, because it's 3 and a half hours long. Robert De Niro as the young Vito Corleone in this was my favorite character of the entire series, it was just done so perfectly, I just wish that he could've got some more screentime in it. But much like for the first, any movie buff must see this movie before they consider themself a movie buff, because this movie is just perfect.

13. Gran Torino (Clint Eastwood, 2008)

http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0ecsbdu5BadmX/610x.jpg

Now this is my second favorite movie from 2008. It was great to see another movie directed by Clint Eastwood, I'm a huge Eastwood fan and this movie was just perfect. I loved every minute, and I also loved that it didn't have your typical Eastwood ending, I definitely didn't see it coming. This movie is incredible right from the very start of it, I recommend this to everyone to see before it leaves theaters, because I'm sure that you won't be disappointed when you walk out of the theater.

12. Gone Baby Gone (Ben Affleck, 2007)

http://thecia.com.au/reviews/g/images/gone-baby-gone-7.jpg

This movie is just incredible, and the ending is just amazing. Casey Affleck really surprised me with how amazing he did in this, I was so happy to see him do such a great job. Ed Harris, who is another one of my favorite actors, was also just as amazing in this, I was so happy to see that. I still haven't seen that many Ed Harris movies though, so I need to get seeing some more of his movies. Morgan Freeman was great for the parts that he was in, he really wasn't in as much of the movie as I had hoped though. If you haven't seen this yet, you definitely need to get to seeing this because you won't be disappointed.

11. The Thing (John Carpenter, 1982)

http://i27.tinypic.com/2j506tj.jpg

I actually just saw this for the first time yesterday, and I think with another watch or two that it's gonna make it onto my top 10, but for now it's gonna stay at spot 11. This has to be my all time favorite horror movie, I'm still blown away by it and it's been a whole day since I've last watched it. The effects were very ahead of it's time, and any fan of the horror genre really needs to see it, because to me it's the perfect horror movie, and it's probably the most scariest to me.

10. Dirty Harry (Don Siegel, 1970)

http://www.tubapants.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/dirtyharry.JPG

This is my second favorite character from Eastwood, he just plays the role say great. I also really loved the 70's movie type of feel I got from this, I thought stuff from the 70's, like Starsky and Hutch, were great so I was really happy to see it in this. And the .44 Magnum he uses is just great, but I do think the 'Do you feel lucky, punk?' is a little overrated though, I mean it wasn't that amazing or anything. I think this is a movie that everyone should see at least once.

9. The Incredibles (Brad Bird, 2004)

http://www.workingnet.com/thunderbear/images/the-incredibles-pixar-family.jpg

This is my all-time favorite animated movie, I just really love superheroes. I also really loved the Watchmen feel I got from it, because a lof of things in it really did remind me of Watchmen. Jason Lee did a great job playing the villain, his character was probably my favorite throughout the whole movie. Samuel L. Jackson was hilarious in this though, he was definitely my second favorite character in this. Anyone who's looking for an animated movie to watch needs to check this one out because it's great.

8. Memento (Christopher Nolan, 2000)

http://starsandmoon145.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/memento.jpg

This movie is just a masterpiece in everyway, it's done so differently, but it works so amazing though. It's definitely not your traditional movie, but it's just done so amazing, I could definitely consider this movie art. Guy Pearce is just perfect in this, I can't express how amazing he is in this. Everyone really needs to watch this movie to get why it's so great though, you definitely won't be disappointed if you do.

7. No Country For Old Men (The Coen Brothers, 2007)

http://www.fest21.com/files/images/NO%20COUNTRY%20FOR%20OLD%20MEN.JPG

This movie is nothing, but perfect. I don't see how any movie fan couldn't like this one, because it's just perfect in every way. Javier Bardam is just amazing as Anton Chirgurh, Anton is probably in my top 3 favorite villains of all-time. He's just so amazing in it, I don't even think I can describe how amazing he is in it, because he's just so damn amazing. The ending is definitely complicated though, it actually took me a couple of watches to get, I guess you could say, because the first time I got done watching this, I was just ike WTF just happened when it ended. It definitely deserved 'Best Picture' at last years academy awards.

6. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly (Sergio Leone, 1966)

http://blogs.amctv.com/future-of-classic/The%20Good,%20The%20Bad,%20and%20The%20Ugly_560x330_MMDGOTH_EC001_H.jpg

My favorite western of all-time, with my favorite actor of all-time starring in it. The music for this was one of the best things about it though, it just really got me pumped. And boy, what an ending, I just really loved it. The Showdown between the three of them getting ready to shoot each other was just awesome. I would probably put that scene alone in my top 5 favorite movie scenes of all-time. Everyone who loves westerns really need to see this if they haven't already.

5. Batman Begins (Christopher Nolan, 2005)

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2005/06/15/arts/15batm.1.650.jpg

This movie is the perfect superhero movie IMO, it's still barely not quite the best though. Now I'm a huge Batman fan, so I absolutely loved this movie, it was the perfect Batman movie for the longest time, up until The Dark Knight came out. Ra's Al Guhl was also a very amazing villain, Liam Neeson is one of my favorite actor's though, he was just really great in the role, I just wish he could've got some more screen time. Christian Bale is the best Bruce Wayne though, maybe not the best Batman, but the best Bruce Wayne definitely. Any Christian Bale or comic book fan needs to check this one out.

4. Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994)

http://sachem.suffolk.lib.ny.us/advisor/Flick%20Picks/images/pulp_fiction.jpg

Now this was my favorite movie for the longest time, it got pushed down a few spots since though. Tarantino is still my favorite director though, and this is by far his best movie. This is also by far Samuel L. Jackson's best movie, he was just so perfect in this. Anyone who hasn't seen this yet really needs to check it out sometime soon because I'm postive you won't be disappointed.

3. The Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan, 2008)

http://www.filmmy.com/wp/images/The_Dark_Knight_Pics_35.jpg

Now I was hyping myself up for this movie so bad, I don't even think I could explain all my hype for this movie. And it certainly lived up to all of it, especially Heath Ledger, now if he doesn't get 'Best Supporting Actor' this year at the academy awards, I'll be really upset because he deserved it more than anyone. This movie is just like the Godfather of superhero movies, this is way more than just a popcorn movie and everyone needs to see this if you haven't yet.

2. Leon: The Professional (Luc Besson, 1994)

http://media.canada.com/gallery/movie_assassins/0124_leon.jpg

This movie is just so amazing, everyone really needs to see this movie, they won't be disappointed. It has a great mix of action and drama in it, and it's all done so perfectly. Gary Oldman is just amazing in this, he's my second favorite actor of all-time and this is my favorite movie of his. He just does such an amazing job playing the villain in things, and he also did a great job acting crazy because he sure can act crazy for his roles in movies. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you need to go watch it now.

1. Mystic River (Clint Eastwood, 2003)

http://img5.allocine.fr/acmedia/medias/nmedia/18/35/08/97/p2.jpg

This movie is just so amazingly powerful, all the acting from the entire cast is just top notch. The story for it never slows down once right from the very beginning of it, and I love that. And it has the most powerful ending of all-time I think, it also has a great twist added with it too, it may not be quite a twist like Se7en or Fight Club, but it sure is a great twist. This movie is just the perfect example of extrodinary filmmaking and Clint Eastwood is surely an extrodinary filmmaker, and he is my second favorite director of all-time. My favorite scene for this would definitely be the one in the image I added with it, because it's by far the most powerful scene of the movie with the best acting that I've ever seen. If you haven't seen this yet, you really need to get seeing this.

I'm surprised that Memento is on your top 10. I didn't know you liked it that much! Mystic River is also a great film. :)

I'll say one thing: I hated 300. But the more I watch Dawn of the Dead the more I like it. Such a great ending.

I've gotta say, I wasn't impressed by Dirty Harry, Clint's character was just to unbelivable to me.

Nice list, lots of my favourites. Probably too many recent films for a rounded list, i imagine many of those will have gone by time you come to doing a re-draft, as many do. Would suggest some foreign films as well ;)

Great top ten MovieMan, I had guessed what a few of them were going to be due to some of your previous posts. Thanks for all the effort you put in to making this. Are you going to add any new movies you see that you think would belong on this list, as a sort of supplement?

I'm probably gonna do it again a few months down the road, maybe even a year down the road, once I see some more movies, because there's still a lof of movies that I need to see, so once I see as many of them as I can, I'm probably gonna re-do this list.

I didn't really like Lady in the Water that much. I tell you, M. Night is ruining his career. The Happening sucked, and I bet 5 grand next movie he makes will be a flop.

Yeah, Watchmen might be on my top 10.

I really loved Lady In The Water, it just has some amazing storytelling with an amazing score to back it up. I liked The Happening, while it may still be one of my least favorite Shymalan movie, I still liked it. My least favortie Shymalan movie, which I still liked, was The Villiage, I think it was just too slow paced for me, I really loved the ending though.

Yeah, Watchmen might be on my top 10.

Yeah I actually doubt it, because I really love the movies in my top 10, and I'm not expecting to like Watchmen more than that. I mean I am hoping to love it, but I already know it's not gonna be perfect, I mean it's incredibly short for how long Watchmen is supposed to be (which I'm glad that they're gonna be a super long director's cut that's gonna come out), and the ending was changed. I'm still really hoping to still love it though.

Damn that Watchmen was good. I'm really looking forward to see what they do with it in the film (I mean, that ending alone is pretty crazy), not expecting it to be the same as the graphic novel though, I don't think that's possible. Hurmm.

But anyway, thanks for getting into that little discussion with me over 2009 box office grosses Movie Man, that's what reminded me I needed read it.

I had no interest in Watchmen until yesterday, when I saw that Carla Gugino was in it. Short of blisteringly good reviews that make it sound interesting, I still won't be seeing it on its release, but I might check it out sometime in the future. She is one sexy lady. :randy:

Her character actually isn't gonna have much screentime in it.

Well, she doesn't have much screen time in Sin City, but "what's there is cherce" (quoting Spencer Tracy in Pat and Mike).
