wow one night we had no way to cook our popcorn and my friend said to try our cell phone and we just called him crazy. I guess I didn't know what I was talking about

You would have to have a tremendous heat source, under the table to make them pop. With a heat source under the table, the whole table would be too hot, notice the hands on the table. Also timing would be a problem, premature popping before the call ismade etc.
