Okay. So I'm back from South Shore Lake Tahoe. I saw David Spade's stand up, live and really close to the stage. I thought T would find it interesting that Spade was introduced with the song, Don't Fear the Reeper, playing in the backround.

Spud- I didn't bring my camera, because there was this huge sign that said, No Cameras Allowed Past This Point. Then, during the show...about a dozen people took pictures. Spade says,
I'm glad you all read the huge sign outside. Jeez." So, I'm glad I didn't take any...he seemed kinda miffed about it.

Anyhoo, the man was great. Very funny stuff. Only a couple bits from his act were familer; he did the thing about the show Cops. Then he also did the one about that true story where some kid all stoned, jumped into a pen of Polar Bears at a zoo...the kid thought the Polar Bears were motioning to him to jump in with them. Apperently, the kid was mauled to death. Spade told the story in his usual sardoni tone. It was a riot.

He also ripped on a lot of bands. He goes to alot of concerts. He was talking about how he's always pissed when the bands won't play their hits, or they change them from the way they sound on the album. I totally agree...

It was a sold out show. I would highly recommend that if he does his thing anywhere near you, to check it out. I was laughing 90% of the time...the other 10% I missed what he said because I was laughing so hard...

Good Show!

That's freakin' weird. I was watching him on one of those "Spade in America" things on the SNL re-runs. Funny crap.

He seriously, does a great show...well worth the ticket price of around 50 bucks. There's never a dull moment. Even when he takes a little break for a sip of his drink, he's mumbling stuff under his breath. And he does some freakin' weird impersonations of Kasey Kasem, Tom Petty, Michael J. Fox, and just like, random people. I love when he talks like a girl...

Remember the Gap Girls skit on SNL? The one with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, David Spade, and I think Sara Gilbert from Roseanne, was the guest...man, that was funny.

lol@spud.

Don't Fear the Reaper - I love that song. That's not weird; he's coming out to slay you with his witty repartee and has juuust enough of an ego so it' s not offensive, but "cute" (forgiveable) to explain why he'd have it played.

I think they've got one of those red, plastic milk cartons. Maybe 2...you can line them up...he can put one foot on each. Then you can call his agent, offer a sack of potatoes as compensation, and boom, you're set.

:))

If you must know, we have a large building for special events, Memorial Hall. If you've seen the old movie "Picnic" it was about Independence, although it was filmed in Hutchison.

We just upgraded from the milk crates a few years ago...:D
