This was an idea somebody brought up when the site hosted that Oscar chat back in February. Is there any chance we could have a live running commentary, similar to the Oscar chat format, on a synchronized DVD? Is there any interest in that? Could it logistically work? I think it's a cool idea and either Holden or Mark mentioned they've participated in something like it on another site. I guess it'd be tough with all the European Mofos and then choosing the actual film to comment on, but I'm sure we could work that kind of stuff out all right.

So, anybody up for it?

I'd definitely go for it.

Definitely. As you said, we discussed this awhile back, and I still think it's a great idea. It works best if we get a fair number of people, though, so this sort of thing would have to be scheduled at least a few weeks in advance, and we'd have to agree on a pretty popular, widely accessible movie, I think. And it makes sense to do this in-between Oscar chats, for sure.

Any suggestions? I'm down for something in mid to late October.

Well I'm assuming it doesn't have to be a very recent movie... how about Goodfellas? A masterful movie that bears some discussion, in my mind. And it's always fun to quote from... :p

Yeah, I actually think it would be better to do a classic movie we've all seen multiple times before, like Casablanca or something. But, yeah, if enough people expressed interest, we'd definitely have to vote on the actual movie to be discussed.
