Anyone see commercials for this show yet? Its a neat spin to detective shows, the main character looks like he might hold my interest, hes the type of guy you would actually want to hang out with not like other socially weird genius detective types.

Really? He looked arrogant in the promos to me. I wanted to slap him.

Haha I could see where you get that, I found him to be pretty funny. The guy is smart and has pretty spot on intuition
That's one of the clips I saw:

Its airing next week so I'm gonna tune in and watch that premiere.
Well, I think he is taking a page out of Holmes' book. Sherlock Holmes was incredibly arrogant, but, he didn't mean to be. It's just how his mind worked.

Hmm, I never got really got into Sherlock Holmes but I know theres a new Holmes comedy movie coming up that I'd be interested in checking out.
Haha I also realized they have a whole bunch of clips on the CBS website and here I am looking for them on youtube like a dummy. They've got some funny trick you mind type vids too, its pretty cool.

Why do the promos for this show remind me of Life?
I've never enjoyed Holmes either. I just couldn't get into all those mental gyrations, particularly when the read was not let in on a lot of clues, talk about cheating!

The show looks interesting to me. I'll catch it.
This show reminds me of Psych, in so many ways... Psych is awesome btw.

I thought it did too at first but the more I look at it, the tone and the attitude is pretty different. I don't think you could transfer the jokes and funny moments from Psych into The Mentalist cause The Mentalist is a lot more serious and the cases aren't laughing matter type situations. I don't think the Mentalist is a total downer like X-Files cause the main character has a sense of humor. I love Psych too, but its pretty much a straight out comedy (I could watch that show on mute and laugh at just the guy's funny expressions, haha).

So, no ones watching it tonight? I realized the main character is the guy from The Mentalist and the guy from Devil Wears Prada (don't ask how I knew he was from that second one). Can't wait!
