is there any other reward for getting 500+ rep than a green bar undr your name?
cuz if there isnt, then there definitely should b. like, if you get a lightsaber then you get to spend an hour with yoda in the flesh!!! more if you pay for lunch. or, iuno, if you get a lightsaber, movieforums.com sends you a fake ACTUAL LIGHTSABER!!!
or something more/less crazy. any better ideas?

I reckon earning the respect of the other members is a good enough reward by itself...

All Goblin-Zoo Excursions aside, I agree. The respect of fellow mofos is truly a worthy quest and worth the work.
I was thinking perhaps a dictionary and thesaurus....

So how come this person knows about the light sabers and who Yoda is and has been here a total of 2 seconds?
Perhaps he meant the fictional Yoda?

aye. maybe he IS yoda. this is all a test to see if we want to have lunch with him. ;)

Been there, done that. It's nothing to write home about (he chews with his mouth open) ... unless he's paying. ;)

Note: I was just kidding about the chewing with his mouth open part. I don't want to risk anyone's ire and bad rep, thereby keeping me from that upcoming light saber myself.... :D
Maybe lunch with Yod's mother then? I hear she has nice ears.

Hey, I don't have detached earlobes -- unlike Yoda, who has nearly detached ears....
Do I get more respect with a lightsaber? Maybe I'll carry one around with me...go shopping with a lightsaber, go to dinner, go to the movies.

You don't need a lightsaber for me to respect you  http://planetsmilies.net/star-wars-smiley-5472.gif

But you're nebbit, you have respect for practically everyone on here.
Except spammers of course...

I like the fact that I have more respect then the site owner's own mother :p
Well, to be fair, reviews and top 100 lists tend to produce a lot of rep, and I don't think she's done either. :)

Lol, I read that like Yoda only chews with his mouth closed when he's paying for lunch.

"Quote of the Day" produces a lot of rep if you use a good one.
I'd actually written that as part of a longer reply, but decided I was rambling and getting off the topic a bit and took it out. So, yeah...the quotes in "Quote of the Day" are definitely big rep producers. So much so that when we do end up ranking posts more prominently and such, I'll probably have to exclude threads like that.

Hey, I started that Quote of the Day thread ... on a whim! It's funny to me how it's mushroomed into one of those gazillion-page threads all forums have. I'm proud now to have started it. :)
Reviews? You have to actually see movies EARLY to do that, don't you? ;)
Top 100 lists... hmmmm....

Try taking a look at a lot of the review threads. A fair few of them review older movies as well, if not exclusively. Not all reviews have to be about new films.

Personal pictures produce a lot of rep, as well as hosting movie games...or anouncing engagements, weddings, births, saying Happy Birthday to someone..lol

I would absolutely love to see a top 100 list of yours, and in doing so maybe you could apply some pressure to that son of yours (the green one) to do one as well.
Just don't seem Christian to be runnin a movin pictures site without one... Ya Hear?

Gah so close!!!!
You are indeed close...which makes me feel awfully bad, given that we're probably raising the minimum rep required for lightsabers soon. ;)

HOW SOON??!?!?!
Well, I was going to wait until you were just a rep point short of the current mark, but in the interest of being slightly less evil, probably sooner.

How is that less evil? That's still sorta like changing a 200-yard dash into a 5-mile run in the middle of the race.

SERIOUSLY! IS THIS A STICKER THAT APPEARS ON YOUR COMPU, YODA?

I think you should have to do something in order to get a complete bar/be a real member, like write a review or some kind of quiz or test. If I really wanted a saber I'd just keep posting in the funny pic thread or post photos of semi naked woman, everyone reps you for that.
