Has anyone encountered this? I once saw a car advertisement (right before the interactive menu came up) on a family drama dvd that had nothing to with cars at all. I think that just seems sad and cheap.

No I can't say I have, but I'm against it. But I'm also against those warnings about copying movies and threats from the FBI and Interpol. (Actually I might have seen a Coca-Cola comericial once, the same one that plays in the movie theaters.)

Yeah i have the No Country For Old Men DVD and it has a ****ing car commercial on the beginning. So ****ing stupid.
I could be dreaming this, but wasn't there a Coca-Cola "commercial" at the beginning of the VHS version of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, featuring E.T.? I think I have it around here so maybe I'll check later. It was clever enough, whatever the heck it was, that I didn't care.
I do not really care what is on the dvd as long as I can go to main menu with push of button. Making me watch an ad and telling me that a certain operation is not availble is a bit rude. Making me sit through a do not copy this DVD cause it is illegal spiel after I just bought the dang thing ticks me off too. We should be able to insert DVD, hit main menu and be off.

It's the best when they're non existent, fine when you can menu-button past them, and irritating when you have to fast forward through them, but alas, I still watch the effin' movie.
To be honust I cant stand any sort of adverts on DVDs not even that bloody "you wouldnt steal a car...." rubbish. It was the same on VHS half the cassette was taken up by adverts for other films and rubbish. When I buy DVDs I just want to watch the film not have endless amout of rubbish before hand. Yes you could skip but why should I Ive got this film to watch, Just put the film on. There are some DVDs that wont let you even skip the Adverts even by pressing the DVD menu button.
Agreed. I mean, if we are plopping down the cash for the DVD, we should get a nice clean copy of the film, extras, and other items we want, and not some commercial for a candy bar, or, as n3wt points out, a short piece of info telling us not to be criminals.

Agree completely. The ads are lame, but I don't think twice about them unless I'm forced to watch.

I was watching this last night and I couldnt skip to the menu or the trailers for the films, the only way I could get thro them was to fast forward that was annoying!
