Anybody heard of this film? I found a game for it (vacancygame) and it's bloody hard. Well it's pretty bloody aswell. (I embaress myself.)

Not sure what to expect from it. Horrors can be very hit or miss. As a DVD it could be good as you get into the whole TV watching mode like in the film.

Its actually a horrible film in my opinion. I couldn't stand it. That's if you are talking about the one starring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale.

I was checking out some other websites and they seem to give it a positive review. I can understand however that some horror fans just love the genre and may not judge it if it's good or not.

Vacancy was a horrible movie. I thought that it had a clever premise, and in the hands of a different director and a more experienced screenwriter, it might have been good.

Wow looks nobody else liked this movie. I just watched this for the first time last night. I thought it was worth watching at least once. The tunnel scene with the rats I thought was pretty creepy! This guy is pretty creepy to

Did you guy's see the Direct-To-DVD prequel? Just from being Direct-To-DVD it look's like it's gonna be bad.

Anyways, I enjoyed the first one. Will prolly give the second one a shot just to see how it is.

I found Vacancy to be one of the only films to actually scare me with out using cheap shocks, such as monsters jumping out from no were. Vacancy is a very scary movie and i think it is one of the best horror movies i have ever seen.

I thought it was actually scary the first time I saw it, I wasn't scared a bit when I rewatched it recently though.

I like it in the horror movies where the bad guys(s) always die.

Why do they always have to cast "young" couples in these type of movies?

it was interesting, and odd movie to say the least - and in the nature of the horror movies of today, more of what I'd call a "romantic" horror movie, with the real premise being that a near death experience helps the couple renew their love/affection for each other.

at least that's how i saw it. let me think. .. .... ... yep. that's how i saw it.

moving on the the actual carnage - i think the story was told well enough, and the horror seemed real enough (though no, this was not a movie that had me on the edge of my seat perspiring) - one thing i think they actually failed to do was to humanize or at least give reasons for the behavior. We know several people were in on it. We know money was made. We know there was bloodlust. But we never really get a backstory, or even a real reason as to why a little hole in the highway motel became Murder Central.

which can only mean that the murdering part wasnt important enough to really think about - it only served the basic purpose of providing a suitable "terror" to bring the couple back together (yawn).

As far as horror movies go, i actually liked the way this one was done, with the seedy motel, the eccentric characters and the tunneling mystery. however, i do think it lacks a certain pizzazz or zing.

the Straight to DVD number looks even more awful than the first, and without big names like Luke Wilson or Kate Beckinsdale - cant say I'll even be watching it.

compare it to another seedy, roadside type of horror movie: Joyride. just as campy, but a brother-bonding horror film. and it worked because even though we dont know why the trucker is a psychotic murdering crazy man, we at least know what triggered him to lose it and chase the boys down. the devil's in the details, as they say, and Vacancy glossed over a whole lot of them.
