What do you all think about the trailers for this film? I'm excited to see it. The story, about a guy who loses his job and identity and finds himself in a small town, seems sweet. And Carrey looks like he's putting on a great performance..

Im not a Jim carrey fan but this and "Man On The Moon" have both been pleasant surprises.

Directed by Frank darabont (The Shawhank Redemption) this is an old style story of morality that is as much a love song to cinema as it is to the era in which the film is set.

With attention to detail and a clever yet ultimately sappy script this film still delivers good entertainment for the most part.

I personally loved the feel, look and mood of the whole film. With picturesque cinematography and a brilliant cast backing him up Jim carrey is the centre of a feel good film that is at slightly above average.

Towards the end director Darabont lays it on a little thick, something i usually despise escpecially smaltzy music over alreayd over-sentmental scenes. In this however its forgivable for me because I was enjoying the little fable for what it is.

A predictable, mainstream message film that has flair enough and skill enough to rise above the mundane and capture at times anyway the essence of what cinema is all about.

The scenes at the old theatre alone make this worth a look and Martin Landua performance is also a high point.

For fans of Carrey this is must see, for people like me it may come as a pleasant surprise or a guilty pleasure.

Hated this movie with a white hot passion...I don't know what Jim Carrey was thinking when he took this role. Martin Landau was good, but his performance was not enough to make the film work for me.
