Alright lads and ladettes :drevil:
Yeah, i'm back after a bit of a sabbatical what with coursework and deadlines and the like. I'm happy to report that it's all finished, completed, over, done with FOREVER. I'm off to Japan to teach English for 1 year and my gorgeous girlfriend has decided to come with me. So yeah, i'm gonna be posting from Japan from now on.
Ah, very cool. Congrats! :)
I've got a friend pondering the same sort of deal, though she might be staying in Japan to teach English indefinitely. Odd coincidence, no?

Cheers mate! Should be an interesting experience, Japan is supposedly EXTREMELY different from Britain. I also wanted to decide between Japan or touring around Africa, but I felt I needed to make some money so Japan it was.
Yeah, bit of a coincidence that. Do you know where abouts in Japan she wants to stay?

Lucky, i was quite tempted to teach English abroad (get loan paid off etc), tried learning Japanese in my first term but man is it a hard language with stupidly fast moving lessons.

Bugger. I thought this thread was a tribute to Leicester's favourite petty criminal soul singer but, hey! :D
The ex Mrs Tat did a TEFL course after her degree which meant we could bum around Europe for a few months. Mucho fun but I don't think she taught for more than a few days (but that's another story).
You'll like Japan....hopefully. My mate did a year's work placement there and on his first night threw up (after too much drink, natch) in the lap of a senior Sony exec - he'd been hired by Sony. One tip: take up golf. ;)
Oh, and welcome back! :)
