McClane's Prom Thread

Hey everybody! As some might have noticed, I've been talking about the prom at various places throughout the site. Well, today's the day and the closer it gets to "go time," the more nervous I get.

I picked up my tuxedo yesterday and did a major cleaning to the car. Now I have to go get some gas and pick up her corsage.

I will be most certain to take photos and upload them for you all to see. They'll be in this thread, of course. This is kind of a big deal for me as, some may know, I'm not really that social. I didn't attend any of the Homecomings or last year's prom. I thought, since I'm a senior, that I should just go to have the experience of doing it.

Awww, that kinda sucks. I went with a friend (a girl, couldn't exactly bring a guy) which made it a little more bearable...I totally understand what you're going through right now (I'm rather antisocial and shy myself). My advice would be drink, start now preferably, that takes the edge off for me... But I'm guessing you can't really do that...;)

I've not been to any of my Balls, can't be arsed with tuxedos etc. For my Year 11 one (16 yrs old) was going to go in a fir engine since i was dating the daughter of the fire chief but we broke up before the Ball so didnt bother going and not bothered since.

Well, I had a hell of a blast. "Danced" a lot, did the senior walk, talked with a few friends (mostly with my date, though) and now I will have one heck of a memory for high school. I am so glad I went to it. It's amazing how one thing can make high school an awesome experience. This prom, IMO, single handedly made my high school years kick ass.

Color choices for the suit and dress were great. Glad you had a good time. I went to my junior year prom and had a blast, but it was really the after prom stuff that I really loved. We went bowling - and I usually can't bowl well, but I was in such a manic mood that night that I ended up scoring three strikes in a row! Or, a turkey as I believe they call it. Later, I tried sumo wrestling, but I ended up being a loser at that.

ah john you looked so grown up and im glad u had a gd time, my yprom was this time last year and i had a terrible time - my dress was too tight and it made me throw up and i had to leave early!

its was just the dress, i had one drink cause i didnt want to be 'that girl' at my prom. Then they served really smelly food and that just set me off.
