I received my first issue just yesterday and found it to be very informative and useful. Who else got it besides me???? Now......it's all up you guys. We need to respond to this and let Chris know what we think so he knows what he needs to do, to make it better for all us MoFos.

Thx....Jason (Jrs)

I was going to start a thread like this, but I guess Jason beat me to it. Thanks, man. :)

Anyway, all registered users who chose the "Receive Email From Administators" should have received it. Very glad to found it helpful, Jason. And yes, feedback would be extremely useful, as I'm still deciding how to lay the newsletter out. I might add more threads, for example. All depends on what people like.

For those who don't know what this is all about, I sent out the site's first-ever newsletter yesterday. I'll be creating a small forum soon to store past issues in the next day or two.

I got my issue. It is a great idea, indeed! I only hope my name appears in the next issue. Maybe I will do something crazy, or say something extraordinary to get my name in the news. I'll think of a good thread starter in the meantime. :D

I seem to have got most of it. The Tatty Speaks Sense section didn't seem to make it through my email's crapometer, though.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to try to send it out every two weeks; usually on Saturdays, I think.

It's a little tricky, because there are always more threads worth highlighting than I'll be able to highlight (ditto for posts), so I hope no one takes it too badly if a given thread or post doesn't make it in there. I'll do my best to get a good cross-section of topics in each time.

Well hell! I never did have that turned on. I always figured you could just PM me, if you needed to say something. Oops! Had no clue.

*EDIT*

That was cute, what you said about my game.
Where exactly are these archives? I should probably know this.

*EDIT*

I found them! Looky there. Right at the bottom of the page.

I love the format here Chris, it is a great idea and reminds me of an outline to a story or a book report. That is a compliment. It entices and reminds one of current events, and if one has been laxed in visiting MOFO it alerts them of the latest gossip. It also stays focused on movies which I am sure may be tough at times on this forum. Thanks for all the work and time you spend into doing this.

Could there be a way of seeing the archived newsletters other than finding the links through this thread? Like on quicklinks or something? (Or maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet...). I know they get emailed out, but I don't remember let alone regularly check whichever e-mail address I'm registered under...

I haven't seen any of these posts yet, but this was damn funny to read . . .

New user "meatwadsprite" signs up and immediately begins posting hoards of "reviews" with letter grades and 4 or 5 bullet points about them. When he gives Rush Hour 3 a higher grade than "Good Will Hunting" or "Blade Runner", a riot breaks out that leads to the thread being renamed and several innocent bystanders sustaining serious injuries.

Great idea. There's a forum for the newsletters, but I've just added a link to it in the Quick Links menu. I might juggle the order around at some point, however.

Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Haven't seen one of these for a while...did you decide to drop them, or have you just been busy with other stuff?

Yoda

No, they're still going; last one was on October 20th, I'm just a little behind in posting the formatted versions on the site.

The latest was due yesterday, but I was away from the computer all day, so it'll probably go out tomorrow.

Yoda

My apologies to anyone who's received several copies of today's newsletter. The mailing script we're using has gotten hung up several times, and looks to be doing so again, so we might end up delaying the newsletter a couple days, at which time you might receive one more.

This should only apply to a few hundred people, but all the same: sorry for the inbox clutter.

I'm a little behind in posting them here on the site, but I can forward you a copy of the latest issue via the email address in your profile if you like, though. Just say the word. :)

If you'd like to start receiving the newsletter, just check the "Receive our sporadic site newsletter" option on the Edit Options (http://www.movieforums.com/community/profile.php?do=editoptions) page. :)
