Hey people. Brand-freakin-new here. Joined as an alternative to bloody-disgusting, and because IMDB doesn't actually have forums (I don't think). Anyway, favorite movies are: Die Hard Trilogy and Friday the 13th series. I am a huge horror movie fan, but I do enjoy comedies a lot too. Music tops go to Rob Zombie. TV, well, I probably watch too much but love every minute. I am currently a freshman in college.

Hey. Welcome. :) IMDB does have forums, but they're pretty shoddy. Here's hoping you stick around.

Hey nricexbox. Wecome to Mofo.

A question...If you were to pick one movie out of the Friday the 13th franchise what is your fav and would that be your all time fav out of the horror genre? Mine is the one when that girl had telekinetic powers and kicked Jason's butt all up and down the movie set. :D

Of all the Friday's....I would have to say that Part's 5 and 6 are my favorites. I would have to watch those again to better decide. But traditionally I like the Jason stalk and kill in the woods. No big city, psychic powers, no passing from body to body. And they were far enough into the series that he was established. Part 1 was Mom, part 2 was his revenge, but was relatively unknown, 3 honed is status, and he started to kick off at 4. So you could actually say 4, 5, and 6. But thats how I break it down piece by piece.
The genre, I salute George Romero and the recent wave from the "Splat Pack." But I'm not sure there is a definitive favorite.

The only Friday film that is worth watching is the first one, IMO. Shoestring budget combined with some creative camerawork set this apart from all the junk that came after. It's the only actual thriller out of the bunch, to me...The rest is shlock slasher stuff...

Not that you asked me... ;)

The first one I think is more so phychological (sp?). You hear about "Jason Voorhees, the boy who drowned in the lake." So who does the killer turn out to be....but his mother who is mad at the counselors who were attending to each other rather than her drowning kid. I just like the whole slow-stalk angle by Jason.
