As some of you may or may not know, I have a web design business. I've had it kinda off an on since August. I had to sit through four hours of listening to people talk about things today and I started thinking about the future of my website. Although I'm not the greatest web designer out there (I know, one would wonder then why I'm trying to offer my services), I still think I can do a pretty good job considering.

Anway, onto my reasons for starting a thread for this. In the past, I've had a DVD Review/News website and I've been considering getting back into this, and just offering design on the side.

I would like everyone's opinion on whether or not I should continue the full-fledged design, or just drop it down to a side project. My website can be found at http://www.s-nine.com. The site would retain the name it has now, just be a different kind of site.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!

Side project. Sorry, but the design of your site wouldn't draw me in as a costumer. It had to be said.

Hey, don't worry about hurting my feelings, I'm thinking the same way. Thanks for the feedback!

Its actually not bad, easy to navigate, simple... The thing about most sites nowadays is that there is too much flash and not enough substance. Add some color, but add it judiciously, the design itself isn't the problem its the fact that there is no color, not even subtle. Create a template and fool around with color a bit. I think it isn't as bad as you might think.

I agree with Othelo, add color! Not too much. Keep it to no more than 3 colors. If you are going to use dull shades like beige, pale greens and greys, contrast them with darker colors like a dark blue or dark green.

Yeah, it's kinda bland. I'd work on it some more and see how you feel about it after some changes. Humanize it by adding a picture of yourself under contact. It'll make the site feel less... robotic? I would definitely add color and not make everything so white. BE STUDIO 9! Not Studio 0!

Well, I've already started designing the new look, I don't intend on really offering web design anymore, just don't have the time. My job is too much for one person and I'm the only one doing it. My new site will use greys, blue's, and maybe red...not sure yet, still trying to get it all worked out.

But again, thanks for the feedback!

Not bad, in the overall scheme of things, but right adjust...please... Just saying. That and more confidence in what you do. But all-in-all better than the majority....you can only go up from here.
