i'm a smoker, have been for about 10 years now ( i'm 24 so do the math )...i know it's supposed to be a disgusting habbit, i realized that much when i briefly quit and i fully grasped the stench of cigarette smoke, but when i smoke i don't smell anything so i don't really care...
as far as the health concerns, despite all the warning i have to say i don't take them seriously enough ( obviously, otherwise i would have quit by now ). to me "smoking causes cancer and heart problems" says, it MAY cause them if you're already viable ( that's the word right? ), family history and all, which means you could also be a non smoker and get cancer or die of a heart attack...it's all chance...
so i was wondering, what's your position on smoking and smokers?
I've hung out with friends in bars who smoked more or less non-stop, and it's never bothered me that much. As long as there isn't any smoke flying right in my face, I'm fine with it. Actually, if the smoke is drifting away from me, and therefore just vaguely near me, I rather enjoy the smell.
I dated a heavy smoker at one point, too, and I couldn't even really tell, though I suspect it'd be different if we were both older. I presume it'd be more noticable (and less pleasant) after a decade or two.
I don't smoke, never have, and never will. I don't particularly care to be around those who do, especially in bars and restaurants. It just becomes so overwhelming that it eventually impairs my ability to enjoy myself.
For me, though, I think it has a lot to do with positive and negative association. None of my friends smoke, my parents quit smoking several years before they had me, and my brother - a veteran firefighter - told me that he'd beat the snot out of me if he ever saw me smoking, having seen the kinds of things that fires started from dropped or non-stubbed cigarettes can do.
I dated someone who actually started smoking while we were together, and I hated that she did that. A year or two later, after having broken up with the previous woman, I met someone at work with whom I 'got along with' pretty well. Though we never dated, we probably would have. She smoked quite a bit, but it never bothered me, and I think it's because she was already a smoker when I met her, and because she was a really great person.
We ALL have our vices, and while smoking is not one of mine I understand the need. Food, alcohol, smoking, sex, gambling, etc..., addictions are a part of life, even: exercise, yoga, education, etc...
My Father indirectly died from smoking, but I do not blame anyone or anything for it. life is life, who am I to tell someone not to smoke? All good all good.:)

It's silly and clearly kills you.
I offer nicorettes as christmas gifts for my smoker friends.
Dont smoke, not interested in smoking and never will take up smoking. I can handle being around it in moderation (eg a pub, club, bar, etc) but not right in my face. If one of my mates is lighting up they know the rule, if they blow smoke in my face, im allowed to throw my fist into their's ;) asides from that it doesnt really bother me.
People know the risks and dangers of smoking, and they can do what they want.

I don't smoke, but I love the smell of tobacco burning in a pipe. The only thing that pissed me off was when my dad used to smoke in the car when I was a little kid, but refused to let me open my window.
He did have his window open by the way, but all that did was blow it back in my face. It was really unpleasant, and yet he wouldn't let me open a window if I was feeling car sick
I resent those kind of selfish attitudes.
[EDIT]
Sorry, I should clarify. I don't mind smoking, one day I may even do it myself, I just can't stand it when some smokers are so inconsiderate of others. Pubs and clubs are fine, cars or public transport with children = nuh uh.

I smoke although i am trying to give up at the mo, Its a hard thing to do though, especially when i am on my own at work (I'm a lorry driver) and then nearly all the people i see in the depot in the morning all smoke, most of the storemen i deliver too smoke and when i come home i'm surrounded by it, I live above a pub, So when i do attempt to quit everyone else seems to want to make it harder for me to do so, they start smoking more and keep offering them to me and there is only so many times you can say no before you end up giving in! I'll manage it one day though!

It still doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does some people. I'd still happily date someone who smoked, and so on. And I'm not too worried about it giving cancer to others because it seems very likely that you're getting it anyway. Honestly, what bothers me most about the image is how bloody unclassy it looks. I know it's meant to make you look inherently cool, but I must have missed that one somehow.
Of course it doesn't help that my mother had the great idea recently to start smoking cigarellos AND chew nicorettes. True class.

I've been a smoker but quit 5-6 years ago. That was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I hate addictions, I'm even annoyed by the fact that I need coffee every day. It's like once you're hooked on something most of the joy of doing it goes away. I quite because I felt like every cigarette felt like such a huge disappointment. It didn't match the my need for it. But when I quit it was really hard to do certain things in the beginning, especially go out for a coffee or a beer and I was depressed every time I had had a meal and realized I couldn't have my after dinner cigarette.
One or two years ago smoking was banned in all public places in Sweden, like cafés, bars, clubs, restaurants and so on, and I love it. Even when I was a smoker I avoided some places that I knew were smoky although it was a nice club or whatever. Now it's so much fresher - you can even wear the same sweater the next day without feeling like an ashtray.
I do enjoy a joint now and then though. ;)
I smoke(13 years now). But I hate being around cigarette smoke indoors...figure that one out.

Bah, they're going to do that in the UK too, some time next year (i think). Not really a fan of the idea - bit nanny state. Sounds like it'll help next time i try and give up tho ;)

Heh, well, IF that's the case, i hope i take after my Aussie grandad. He smoked like a chimney and lived til 80. My other grandad got taken out by the cigs at 50 tho.
(liable's the word you're thinking of btw - but with an infinitive after - like 'you're more liable to get cancer' etc ;))
I'm pretty sure cigs increase your overall chances of getting something nasty no matter what your susceptibility etc tho. And they can cause other probs besides cancer (as a doc friend of mine loves to point out).
I've been told there's a medical 'rule of thumb' that says if you quit by about 30 you're statistically much more likely to avoid the long-term effects. (But i don't know if they take ganj into account when calculating that ;))

I experimented with smoking during the summer of 2000. It was not for me. I smoked 3 cigarettes at a time and got sick. I also didn't really enjoy the act of smoking - holding the cigarette, puffing, everything about it. Someone bought me a pack of cigarettes, I smoked a few of them (at my job, everyone smoked at that job) and I remember that when I was down to only 13 left, I threw them all away. That was it - haven't had a cigarette since. I wouldn't want to smoke now, I believe they can kill you... but I don't mind the smell, or being around people who smoke, even though I've heard second hand smoke is more dangerous than actually smoking.
I smoked cigs for about 6 years back in my teen years and early 20s, then I gave it up. Occassionally, when I am quite drunk, I will have a cig, and it makes me feel terrible. Silly, me.

Well I started smoking cigs when I was 15. Very small at first, but now 17 I probably smoke a whole pack in the span of 2 hours. Yes sad I know. The only one I smoke cigarettes (aside from the kids at school, We're aloud to smoke cigarettes on the property) with is well my best friend. He started before me and him being 18 now he buys like 2 packs every 2 weeks or so. Also each time a different brand.
I want to quit just dont see it happing anytime soon But this doesn't really bother me much at all, forgive me for being a sucker for a cigarette while I do some project for school and Model United Nation positions papers, BLah blah blah. Its a stress reliever. Besides Ive done worser things than smoke a cigarette, and all my friends have there own vices as well: Sex, Drugs, Gambling, Alcohol, especially drugs, I believe they're no big deal
Also ganja's better :p and every pot smoker is not mentally retarded. I know kids who smoke pot more than I do, and there going to colleges, have straight A's the whole 9 yards.
Alcohol is a far more worse killer than cigarettes and weed.

Blah-blah-blah, we all know of other people who can smoke weed, drink every night, and walk on tight ropes over the grand canyon, but why in the hell would that mean you or I could do that? The percentage of people who can be productive while doing drugs is very small. I'm comfortable saying anyone reading this isn't in that small percentage. If you don't believe me, set the steamroller down and lay off the bong for 6 months and then try to tell me you aren't more productive. Stupid clowns.

I'm an occasional smoker. Took it up at UNi as everyone was doing it and it was nice to have a roll up and a cup of tea. Do you guys have loose tobacco in the States? When i was over there last, the only kind i could see was chewing tobacco. YUK.
I sometimes get a packet of baccy and might have a few roll ups when im stressed or relaxing. I see it as a guilty pleasure more than a habit. For example, i havnt had a ciggarette for about 5 weeks as of today as i havnt been stressed or felt like i need one. but i'm sure i'll have some more soon. As for passive smoking, i know this will make me sound like a hypocrite, but i HATE breathing in other peoples smoke. I HATE smokey clubs. i cannot wait for the smoking ban to take affect over here this July.
And as for the green. I smoke it about once or twice every two weeks, but i do make sure i smoke a day before i havnt got anything big to do as it wipes me out for the next day.

Unless I'm drunk? Alchol causes more deaths per year than cigs do, my fathers an aclholic, but also I have had my own problems with it aswell. Even so when I smoke pot with my friends we converse on philosophy, music and life. Not abunch of dudes just blazing up a telling eachother dick and fart jokes. Thats what the general misconeption of pot smokers are people who cant even count to five, and sit in there rooms doing nothing productive with their life.

Its a plant used for it's recreational value. It would be different if I were talking about Cocaine, or Herione. If you arent able to act or control yourself after smoking a joint. You shouldn't be doing it in the first place. But then again no two people have the same reaction to the same substance. Its either for you or it isn't.
I felt like an idiot when I drank, and now that I dont I choose to smoke pot instead, and there is nothing wrong with that. Because its my decision. If someone doesnt have the common sense to see and counteract with lifes "hurdles" (as you say) under the influence of these substances then they had no business experimenting in the first place. Yet I am not one of those individuals.
If you dont like weed, or ciggs more power to you. Like I said its your own choice. Thats the kind of society we live in. Everyone makes their own choices.
"You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist. "
Lol!! What kind of hurdles does smoking a joint in the evening create?
The same kind created by getting drunk. It involves spending time and money in exchange for a dulled reaction time, less coherent thought, and a severe lack of judgement as to what is and is not funny. If that's what you want, hey, that's your choice (as Kitsune pointed out). But don't delude yourself into thinking it doesn't mess with you. If it didn't, you wouldn't want to do it.
Trying to justify pot is like trying to justify candy bars. Both are entirely unnecessary and, from a strictly logical standpoint, pointless. That's not to say either is evil, or even much of a problem. But it's nonsensical to pretend that either has any genuine, redeeming value.
This should all go without saying, but seeing as how I only had a sarcastic reply (complete with superfluous exclamation mark) to go on, I felt the need to spell things out.

This should all go without saying, but seeing as how I only had a sarcastic reply (complete with superfluous exclamation mark) to go on, I felt the need to spell things out. Well, why do we do anything in life then, aside from things that ensure we make it 'till tomorrow? Pot's redeeming value is that it relaxes some people, makes them laugh a bit, and in some instances, makes you think, which to you seems like a paradox, but that's just because, and this is just a presumptuous assumption, you haven't tried it. From a strictly logical standpoint, I'd hardly call those things pointless. That's like saying watching films is pointless, but it's not, we do it because we want to be entertained. Same with pot.
Well, why do we do anything in life then, aside from things that ensure we make it 'till tomorrow?
What I'm saying does not exclude anything unrelated to basic survival. I believe in knowledge for its own sake, and it's quite obvious that there's more to life than things which directly increase your likelihood for living. But there are some things which feel good that people seek out for comfort, but that they would probably be better off without, overall. I group things like junk food and recreational drugs in this category.
Pot's redeeming value is that it relaxes some people, makes them laugh a bit, and in some instances, makes you think, which to you seems like a paradox, but that's just because, and this is just a presumptuous assumption, you haven't tried it. Again, I don't really have much of anything against pot. I think it should be legal and couldn't care much less who smokes it or why. But I think it's a huge stretch to pretend it has as much value as cinema, or any other art form, for that matter.
This next paragraph may come out convoluted, but let me try to elaborate on why I think it's incomparable: it seems to entertain by dumbing down. You can make someone laugh with a clever joke, or you can slow down their thoughts and lower the bar of what they consider clever. Getting high, with pot or alcohol, does the former. Cinema (hopefully) does the latter.
Blah-blah-blah, we all know of other people who can smoke weed, drink every night, and walk on tight ropes over the grand canyon, but why in the hell would that mean you or I could do that? ha I'm with you pimp....well sort of. Funny posts always seem to convince me more :P
Well to be honest everyone's body is different and to say 'because this works for me' then 'it must work for all people' is never gonna work. I've seen weed do some terrible things to people over time (schizophrenia and all!), but then i know people who use it occasionally and seem to be fine. It's all up to what's suited to your body and why you're doing it.
I'm not really into putting anything into my body that will change me from my normal state in any way; I don't smoke, drink coffee, do drugs and never get drunk. I just know so many people that come to 'need' these things to function normally. I'm fine now dealing with stress and I don't need to drink to have a good time (but I love the taste of course....mmm I could go for a Becks right now). I never want to have that 'need' in my life though, so I just avoid them altogether. It's a personal choice but what's most important is that I don't disrespect people who do choose to do that. To each there own.
Incidentally I don't mind cig smoke for the most part but if I worked at a pub or a club and I had smoke in all my clothes, smoke in my eyes and in my hair every time I worked and I don't even smoke, is that fair?

It is day 3 post surgery and he is stillin ICU because he has pulmonary obstructive disease directly related to smoking. This is another one of those bad habits that I had before I became pregnant and I stopped cold turkey when I found out that I was pregnant. The problem is am I going to continue to be able stop after I have my baby. During the pregnancy I have had some cravings for a smoke, but for the sake of the baby I refrained. Now that I am coming to the end of my pregnancy and this child is going to out of me will I no longer have that excuse to not light up again. I really want to continue to stay smoke free, but will it be harder after I have the baby?

I've been told by people who stopped smoking years ago that they still have cravings once in a while... but that they just get their mind on something else and don't give in. I hope for your sake and your baby's that you continue to stay smoke free....

Once a smoker, always a smoker.
I haven't touched a cigarette in years but sometimes the desire to do so almost outweighs reason.

I smoked for 10 years but quit cold turkey about 4 years ago and haven't craved it since the first month or so after.
I can't even stand being near people who are smoking now. Even when someone finishes their cig and then I see them I can still smell it on them.
The worst is girls who smoke and I have no problems telling any woman that. Making them aware of it is a step in the right direction.
So yes, ladies, no matter how good you look or what heavenly perfumes you wear, you still taste like a dirty ashtray if you don't go brush your teeth or gargle first!
I'm really looking forward to the new anti-smoking laws coming out here in Canada soon. Smoking in bars and restaraunts have been limited to people going into designated smoking areas for the last 5 years or so but at the end of this year no one will be able to do even that. Completely banned from all bars & restaraunts is a great step to me especially since at my work everyone has to pass through the 'smoking room' to get from the lobby to the bar or vice versa.
The higher prices new regulations and disturbing anti-smoking ads were mainly what got me to quit smoking in the first place so hopefully now more people will decide to quit as well.
Sorry if I'm offending any smokers here but these are only my own observations. :modest:

Only ganja man ;) Although I haven't smoked any in months.
every pot smoker is not mentally retarded. I know kids who smoke pot more than I do, and there going to colleges, have straight A's the whole 9 yards.
Alcohol is a far more worse killer than cigarettes and weed..
All the ones I've ever met are. I'd much rather be able to think and not need a crutch like weed to deal with life.
I don't like smoking, and I don't really hang out with people who do smoke, but I can understand the addiction.
I want to punch pot smokers in the face, however. I mean we all look the other way on it, but then when I go to Dairy Queen and some chucklehead can't even get my order right cause he's too high, thats the end of the line, people.
I like your thinking Monkeypunch. I myself DO NOT smoke. The smell of it on strong smokers when they pass by, just makes me wanna puke. I never sit next to or close to any smoker cause of second hand smoking. May hell freeze over before I even so touch a ciggarette.

I wish I had your resolve, adi, I really do.
I gave up for a few years when I was in my 20s but fell off the wagon after one particularly nightmarish week which began with a car accident and ended with me coming home from work to find my suitcase packed and sitting outside the front door.
I probably started again for the worst of reasons - a big '**** you' to someone - and it has been smooth sailing from there.
Yeah, I'm weak but y'know what MoFo? Being able to resist temptation was never one of my strong points and if ciggies are the only thing I'm addicted to these days I consider it a minor triumph...
I'd be a really crap counsellor, wouldn't I? :D

smoker... sorta... I have smoked since i was 12 however I only smoke when I am drinking or very high stressed. when I was 12 I thought it was cool, so there was much more smoking back then. I was in my teens when I stopped smoking for maybe around five years. Nowadays, I will have one maybe once a week or so... unless I am drinking then I will have any where from 2 to 10 cigs in one night... bah the feeling that causes in the morning erg...
On any day of the week I cannot stand the smell of smoke in the morning! or if it is too early in the day, after the sun is down I barely notice 'em.

smell of smoke sucks. mom was a smoker, used to sit beside a window or do it in the car with the windows down as if that helped.
i get headaches, dizzy, me no likey man, me no likey.
if i go to a location where smoke is happening (Vegas) then it's on me, not the smokers.
but as long as a person is clean, doesn't smoke CONSTANTLY and doesn't do it in their home then i can hang out in their home and around them.
living in california the way of things is if i have friends who smoke, they're outside smoking and I'm cool. :)

I'm a smoker, have been for 6-odd years now. I've made multiple attempts to quit, usually after I get through 40 the night before and wake up with an erratic heartbeat and a voice like a serial rapist.
The problem is, I'm the sort of person that needs a vice. If I stop smoking, I start drinking, if I stop drinking, I start eating, if I stop eating I start humming Christmas carols non-stop. Of everything I could be doing as a displacement activity smoking is perhaps the most socially acceptable.
Unfortuantely, it means I'm definitely on the wrong side of the line that divides normal, decent taxpayers from degenerates. If I spark up at the bus stop someone 12' away from me coughs pointedly, people are allowed to glare at you, give you unrequested medical advice and (in one case) grab your cancerstick from your mouth, dunk it in your beer and piously proclaim they're only trying to help you.
Good thing I like rubbing those sort of people the wrong way, but it can get tiresome.

I don't smoke. Never have...other than a few odd butts as a drunken lad, and it never took. But I really have no problem with it, either. In interest of full disclosure my Special Lady Friend is a lifelong smoker, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. And while I do agree smoking should definitely and obviously remain banned in spaces like airplanes (hard to believe now there was ever a time when you could smoke on a plane, it seems like so very long ago) I think it's absolutely ridiculous to ban smoking in bars and pubs, which has become the norm here in America. You can't frippin' smoke in a bar?!? What's the point? Next will you not be able to drink alcohol in them either? It's what one does in a bar, and surely nobody goes into one thinking they're going to avoid smoke. Or at least, they shouldn't. Same thing for areas such as outdoor stadiums, which generally all ban smoking in the seats now. Ridiculous. Though I also think if smoking is allowed in a stadium, if it's bothering the people around you and they request you put it out the smoker shouldn't be a dick about it. There's a two-way street when it comes to smoking in public.
And I say all that as a non-smoker. I'm a staunch non-smoker and can't ever imagine doing it myself, but I'm not a Nazi about it when it comes to others. It seems to me there's a way to graft some common sense into the second-hand smoke hysteria. Not that I discount the science on second-hand smoke, I'm inclined to go with it, but to me it doesn't then follow that you can't smoke at a bar or a baseball game. That's extreme and silly.
I think.

I am trying to quit smoking for a project for my Health Psychology class. I have got my baseline measure, now this week I am supposed to start the change....I have only smoked one less cigarette per day so far. It is hard! To be fair though, the average amount of cigarettes I smoked each day is 7. So really 6 ciggies per day is pretty darn good compared to many people I know.

I've smoked since I was 11 off and on. I currently smoke, and I don't really see a problem with it. I enjoy it and it relaxes me, though I try not to smoke around my friends who don't or around other people. But I'm frequently in bars full of smoke anyway so if I didn't I'd still be getting some insane levels of second hand smoke because those bars are insane. I never smoke inside though even if it's allowed. I feel weird about doing that.

Tennessee. They just passed a law here where you can't smoke in any business or anything. Just in bars, and bars are all now 21 and up if they allow smoking. So basically the only place indoors you can smoke in Tennessee is a bar.

As a matter of fact...I think California is trying to pass a law where you can't smoke in your apartment (doubt it will pass) and they are trying to build apartment buildings that are envirornment friendly where smoking won't be allowed.
Up here in British Columbia you aren't able to smoke indoors or doorways of any public place. Don't know about the rest of Canada but I think it's pretty strict as well.

No, I don't smoke. I haven't been to a bar in a few years, and I didn't go but a few times. I haven't done the bar/club scene, since I was 21-22. I did however, expect to be around smokers, and that was that. Again, it's a bar. You're going to leave, smelling like an ashtray.

Now that I think about it, I have smoked tobacco on a few occasions. Most these involved spliffs and blunts. I found that the tobacco did nothing to improve the experience. Quite to the contrary- it actually made smoking the weed less pleasant.
On two occasions however, I've taken drags from clove cigarettes. Oddly enough I found these quite pleasant. I have also enjoyed a visit to a hookah bar.

If you only smoke every 2 weeks the, yes, you're 'doing it properly'.
This begs the question - why do you even smoke at all? You're obviously not a hopeless addict like me and that's the only reason I still smoke. Please don't say that you think it's cool or something...
I remember, years ago, a friend of mine informed me that people who smoked "looked cool" and asked me for one of mine (in those glorious bygone days when you could smoke in bars and the said premises weren't all closing down through lack of trade...hmmmm). He stuck it in his mouth and motioned me to light it up...
...A good 30 seconds later the damn ciggie still hadn't begun its incineration process and he eventually asked "I have to suck in while you're lighting it?"
Needless to say, once he did actually 'suck in' he experienced his first and last cigarette. ;)
Don't start kids, unless you want to end up like me: Out of pocket, an addict and really really cool. :(

I quit smoking completely seven weeks ago, I feel great and now go running for an hour three times a week. I can taste my food again, and hence don't need to add unhealthy levels of salt anymore. I've also started working out with weights again (I used to work out four times a week three years ago) and am considering resuming my Wing Chun training (I also took up Kung Fu for a year at the same time). Essentially I'm getting really fit again, I've lost a few pounds (my jeans aren't tight anymore) and my outlook on life has steadily become more positive. Quitting smoking proved to be the catalyst for all this and I never want to go back to it.

Change down, man. Find your neutral space. You gotta rush. It'll pass. Be seated.

I used to smoke. I quit when I was 18, strange age to quit as most people tend to smoke for 20+ years before they decide to quit, but I felt it was the right time to do so as I had started at about 14. Now, thats not to say that when I have had a few to many alcoholic beverages I wont light one up for "old times sake" but when sober and have full control of all of my senses I wouldnt touch them ... however much I might want to ;).
My girlfriend is a pretty heavy smoker and being that I'm an "ex" smoker the smell and taste really dont bother me and nor do other people around me who smoke.
Now, if we're talking about the "evil green", that's a completely different story :D
The "evil green"? Whatchoo talkin' about? Tomatoes?

Although i hardly smoke (minus weed) i have been getting anoyed at anti-smoking campainers and people who get right in your face about smoking.
Like here in Australia anti-smoking adds are pretty intense. When i watch i think, can't they just let smokers be? We all have vices in life and smoking could be one for some people.
I also hate when someone says that they are a smoker and someone directly gets in their face about it. I know they mean well, but i find it rude when people say the ol "it's discusting". Like give the smoker a break and mind your own dam buisness.
Finaly i hate the ol' coughing extremly loudly when ever someone is smoking near you. It's so rude and it would make the poor smoker feel realy akward. I think you should only do that if the smoker is smoking near your kids or you actualy have a health problem. If thats not the case, then people who do that should get the balls to actualy say something to the smoker if they realy have a problem with it.
I feel i needed to rant on there.

I smoke ocasionaly like once every two weeks. I want to know if im smoking properly though.
If you get light headed does that mean i'm doing it properly?
Also why does that happen and has it happend to you in the past?
I thought I was gonna pass out and die the first time I smoked again a couple of weeks ago. I felt really, really relaxed... and also... HORNY! I became super turned on and got all over my hairy beast of a boyfriend.
Yeah, you're doing it properly. You're getting a high.

After taking a break from smoking, then lighting up again, I got light-headed, almost threw the cigarette down and walked away. Of course, that was a long time ago, I've been smoke free (with the exception of two cigarettes) since November of 2008.

I have to finish a job right now and I like the idea of leaving some of my bad habits behind, when I moving forward to the next chapter. It has to be a serious, clean cut. But we all know, that old habits die hard ... especially when you stay in the same old area.

A lot of people in my family smoke including my mother who smoked around me all through childhood, so it really doesn't bother me. I don't want to or plan to ever start though because it has no real positive effects. It's like lighting money on fire.

I've never so much as taken a puff off a cigarette in my life. Between my two parents, I had enough second hand smoke to last a lifetime. I seriously can't stand it. And it's not just the health factors that turn me off about cigarettes. People who are heavy smokers smell like cigarettes, it gets into their clothes and their hair, and they also taste like cigarettes.
And it's not just tobacco that bothers me. I can't stand marijuana smoke either. I went to a concert on Monday night and had a sore throat for 3 days after because of the thick haze of smoke in the venue.
Call me a goody-goody or whatever, but I just can't stand the stuff.

At my brothers school, each term (a term is a half of a semester, so there are two terms in one semester) his year level (he is in the 5th grade) spends about two hours a week studying a specific topic. Last term it was about racism. He has just told what this terms topic will be. It's tobacco.
Im very angry about this. Because i can garantee you that he and his classmates will not be taught the history of the plant, or the science of the plant, but instead just plainly about the dangers of smoking and how cigarettes are bad.
His classmates may not smoke in the the future, but they will leave the class with a closeminded opinion of smoking. I have seen how some of my brothers fellow class mates react when people smoke around them and its pretty lame.

I'm gonna try to stop for now. I smoked all day yesterday and when I looked at myself in the mirror last night, I had these really dark circles under my eyes... cigarettes will take my sexy crown away if I continue.
Theyre too expensive, and my lungs are shot. I smoke weed and actually consider quitting cigarrettes first. You get nothing from smoking a cig! Nothing! You smell, your breathes shot, your house n clothes will have a slight shade of yellow, and dont forget to hack! Truly the tobacco companies mustve put something in cigarrettes. Studies have actually determined cigarrettes have a higher relapse rate over any drug except heroin, and that included cocaine.

Na i don't really smoke because my grandad died of throat cancer at 50 and was smoking since 14, never met him and thats always in the back of my mind. But i'll have a few puffs rarely when i'm drinking/drunk because pretty much all my mates smoke, and a couple of spliffs now and then.
And when you weigh up the pros and cons it's pointless.

I started smoking because my new boyfriend is a smoker, but, TODAY, I SWEAR, I'm done for good. They are making me feel sick now. I don't like the way I feel mentally after I've smoked.
Or maybe Marlboro's just aren't my cigarette, I dunno.

Did you grow up with cigarette smoke? I did and I kinda like the smell too.
