I absolutely LOVED Wicked...and I'd see it again.
If you're interested, I started a thread on it awhile ago and posted some pic's of it. Go Here. (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=11485&highlight=Wicked) We can still talk about it here though. :)

I'd love to see Light in the Piazza this year, but we'll see.

What else have you seen that you liked UnderCoverlover?

When Sammy gets back from vacation I'm sure she'll contribute alot to this subject. She loves musicals too.

And...I wish susan were still hanging around. I know she's a broadway lovin' gal too.

Undercoverlover...if you ever get the chance to see The Producers, I'd recommend that one too. T'was alot of fun. I thought the show was better than either movie. Ulla was much more impressive and some of the scenes, like the accounting dance, were much funnier on stage than on screen. Of course, it may have helped that my brother the accountant was with us and almost fell out of his chair. :D

I saw Mame last year and it was ok. It was a nice evening out and a kick to see Christine Baranski...but the show didn't knock my socks off. And with the price of tickets these days...I want my socks blown off.

The weirdest show we saw was Disney's version of Cinderella years ago. Eartha Kit playing a hip a Fairy Godmother was....odd. :p

Anyway...let me know how you liked Wicked after you see it Undercoverlover. :)

i tried to get the near impossible tickets to see the producers while Lee Evans was in it on the west end. I went to the famous Dress Circle shsop in London to buy the wicked album and i spoke to the clerk (they know everything!) and he told me that Idina Menzel-who i desperately wanna see as Elphaba, was leaving at the start of January and for cheap tickets im better off queueing in the morning for a day show. £20 rather than more expensive seats for say a Saturday night performance!

did you read the book by Gregory Maguire, Aniko?

OMG soz to do a double post but i have to write this before i explode. Just spur of the moment type thing went to the apollo theatre to see if we could get last minute tickets and a miracle occured. About to go in and get tickets, a boy asked us if we wanted to uy his 2 remainder tickets, his friends had canceled on him and so we got them for £10 each! Not too bad either, middle of the dress circle!

Performance was brilliant, although i felt bad for Helen Dallimore cause she had to share the stage with the powerhouse that is Idina Menzel, and i think an american voice suits Glinda much better than an English one.

The only thing that was bad about it was unfortunately the equipment failed Idina in the Defying gravity sequence, she never made it off the ground and a stage hand had to unhook her dress from the apparatus. Oh well, theres always next time!
