View Full Version : Party Poker, Party Casino?
Does anyone know much about this? I wanted to join Party Casino but in order to deposit money I have to give up personal banking information. Do you know if it's safe?
Party Poker's logo (assuming we're talking about the same place) was emblazoned on the final table of the 2006 World Series of Poker, so I believe they're perfectly safe and reputable.

I've been playing at Party Poker a lot. They're the biggest online poker room in the world, and they're pretty serious about their business. I've given away my VISA info to a lot more suspicious places on the Net.

Btw, Chris. Did you follow the WSOP final? Do you know if I can download it somewhere? There was a swede that finished 8th I believe.

Yeah. I was going to have some friends over to watch it on Pay Per View, but there was a technical problem, so I actually had my mom order and tape it. I then trudged through about 14 hours of poker on three VHS tapes. Heh.
I don't know of anywhere to download it, though. Sorry.
And yeah, Erik Friberg finished 8th. Pocket jacks against pocket queens with uber-chip leader Jamie Gold.

Oh, right I heard about that hand. Apperently Friberg had some monster hands but didn't get any action with them...
I think it's strange. Everyone talks about the poker explosion and it all being thanks to television and then it seems to be impossible to watch it! Grrrrr....
So, finally... a poker thread!
Who's playing? Live? Online? Any favourite players?
I played a lot online for a while and mostly on party poker but right now I'm taking it easy. I would love to play a lot more live poker, that's so much more fun than the Internet thing. It's illegal to play anywhere else than on the big state-owned casinos here in Sweden, but of course there's lots of poker clubs all over the country. I used to be a member of one here but it had to close down after a newspaper made an article about them. Lol... Then I play for peanuts with my friends. That's fun too...
I love all those old timers like Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro and Sklanzky but I think that my favourite player to watch is Gus Hansen. He's all about playing the player, not the cards and he's ice cold. Devilfish is lots of fun too... Phil Ivey is incredible as well.

There was recently a story about those online gambling sites ... They all have .com and .net addresses for a reason. The .com addresses are actual gambling sites that take real money. The .net sites were added later as playing sites that don't use actual money.
But there are now a lot of questions about the legality of online gambling in the U.S., and one owner of a .com gambling site recently got arrested. So, all the other owners of other sites are now conspicuously absent at events like this because that's where this one guy got busted.
Anyway, Chris, if you look at the tape, I'm pretty sure it's the .net address and not the .com address on the table. And all the guys' hats that had poker sites were all the .net versions. For good reason.
I'll try to find the link to that article....
Piddy: As for playing poker; I usually play Hold Em at Yahoo Games. Then I downloaded Party Poker and Party Casino.. I really enjoy Double Down Video Poker, mostly because I kick ass. But if you are ever around playing at Yahoo, look me up as "fluffy_th3_tap3worm_lick3r"
