Yes, but I have truly mistaken them - in several movies I was wondering what Randy Quaid was doing in this type of thing (like Enchanted April)! Until the actor started to speak with an English accent and I realized it was Jim Broadbent.

First of all, it's spelled Melanie Griffith. Second of all, she's had such an ever-increasing amount of plastic surgery in the past fifteen years or so, I don't think she looks much like anybody anymore...especially Melanie Griffith.

Sadly poor Meg Ryan got all insecure or something and now she, too, has started a barrage of procedures that just make her look damn weird...and no longer like herself. If it's just the post-op offness that you see as similar in the two, OK, I guess, but I don't think at any stage before or after they started slicing and dicing their faces have they ever looked even a little bit similar. DEFINITELY not before. I don't know how you can watch Working Girl or Something Wild back-to-back with When Harry Met Sally... or Innerspace and be confused on which actress is which.

I have to own up to watching all of Slither thinking that Elizabeth Banks was Rachel McAdams. I've since seen more of Elizabeth Banks and I really like her. Similarly I had no idea until recently that she was playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games – the character always stood out in the trailer but it was only when I saw some of the original film on TV that I recognised who it was.

Those two aren't mistakable at all IMO. They are brought up as lookalikes all the time but unless you've only ever seen one picture of both i really don't see how you could ever get both mixed up.

This one's really out there, but there was this actor on Seinfeld - a tall man with reddish hair - and he appeared in over 30 episodes, but he was always just an extra who was in the coffee shop, walking on the street, waiting in a line, on a bus, etc. His name was Norman Brenner and his job behind the scenes was as a stand in for Kramer (Michael Richards) because they were around the same height.

I couldn't find too many good photos. Nigel Hawthorne's hair was different in most of his movies (so if he had a reddish toupee, he would've looked almost exactly like Brenner).
But yeah, in the face these two looked like twins - and I loved The Madness of King George which came out when Seinfeld was airing. So I used to catch this guy (Brenner) in the background and think: "King George must be like a really big fan of Seinfeld and must have begged Larry David to be on every episode, even if they could only squeeze him in as an extra in the background!" :D

One of the greatest plot twists in the Westworld for me (no spoilers) was the fact that the actress playing Theresa wasn't Lorraine Bracco. It was mind-blowing, I have to say. After watching the show I casually strolled to Bracco's IMDB page to see what she's been up to lately only to find out that it wasn't her at all, but a Danish actress by the name of Sidse Babett Knudsen.
Did anyone else encounter this problem? :)

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this before, but I always confuse Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro - but not in the way you think. I recognize each of them, on screen or in tv interviews. I just always forget who played which part they are known for. I 'm pretty sure I do know Bob was in Taxi Dtiver and Al was screaming in a courtroom about the whole darn system being out of order. But beyond that, it's a good gamble for me in remembering who was in the Godfather. Or Raging Bull Or King of Comedy. Really. I mean I'm pretty darn sure each one of 'em starred in each one of these movies- , But which is which or who's on first, so to speak- I dunno .


I m sorry if this sounds small minded of me , but I think it's b/c they're both dark haired Italians who are good looking in a non traditional way and very gifted in their craft.

And as I 've said, if I actually see them in a movie, I know who I'm lookin' at. But if I have to recall who starred in Serpico and who was hanging out with the Fockers:
