View Full Version : Comments Link
Ya'll should see a "New Comments!" link below the "Movie Forums" text in the navbar on the forum home page if any comments have been left for you since your last visit. This should appear throughout the visit; until you leave for awhile, log out, or hit the Mark All Forums Read (http://www.movieforums.com/community/forumdisplay.php?do=markread) link. Hopefully no one'll have to continually check the User CP (http://www.movieforums.com/community/usercp.php) for new comments now. :)
Let me know if it works/doesn't. I didn't really have any time to test it; I thought of it about 15 minutes ago and just threw it together.
Ok cool. It wasnt there for a bit even after I hit refresh but it just appeared now. :)
Actually now that I've been playing with it, all it does is tell me what new posts have appeared since I last checked in even though it says that to the right of the forum in the "This Just In" area.

i think thats because the New Comments alert only shows up when you have... New Comments.

Yeah, ash is right; you need to have new comments (the new posts message also goes there; they're next to each otherm when appropriate). Also, the "This Just In" area shows recently posted in threads, but it excludes certain non-movie (or non-site) related forums, doesn't tell you how many new posts are in each, and cuts off at 7 anyway. So the aim of the two are fairly different.

Ok yeah, I get you now. Thanks.

I like this feature, as well as all the other changes you've made recently, Yoda.
Decent. I'm liking the 'This Just In' bit too :yup:
