is anybody else totally into this guy? i'm reading a bunch of his stuff i got out from the library right now, and it's all really good. a lot of dialouge with interesting characters.... it's my thing. i was just wondering if there are any more of his fans. i know sadesdrk and ryan dig his stuff.... anybody else have an opinion? if you don't know who he is, check it out.. :D

I love his work.I saw a movie the other day of his.It was called Homicide.I was a little disappointed.William H. Macy was in it and I don't know...usually the dialouge is so good...this one,the cussing was a distraction for me.He even had little old ladies doin' it.It just sounded forced. Some actors do well with cussing a lot(Glenngary Glen Ross, another mamet film)but some...it just doesn't suit them.Any other thoughts?

usually, cussing never distracts me. really. in fact, when used properly, cussing is just a way to emphasize the way someone feels or is expressing themsleves. anyway, mamet is the king. reading his plays, i was suprised at how brief they are. also, the minimal amount of characters he uses is really an interesting trait. also, how many of his productions was william h. macy in, anyway? i was surprised to find that he's been working with mamet since the '70s.

That's a good question.I don't know.About the cussing though..if used too much,it looses it's impact.Homicide made poor use of it...and Glenngary made good use of it.I can still hear Jack Lemmon say,"F*** you and kiss my a**." then he does that turing around bit and motioning to his a**.great stuff!:D

i cannot for the life of me, think of a movie that i loved so much for the dialouge alone. and pacino rules. :D you just cost me 6000 dollars. 6000 dollars! what are you gonna do about it, a**hole!?! also that movie is a good example of an ensemble cast, and how to do it without trying to hard to put everyone in the showcase.
