IMO, Shakira is the most captivating female performer of today. She leaves Madonna, Britney and Mariah in the dust. Her Latin passion is ripe for parody but if you go with the feeling, it's damn entertaining.

Her face, the way she moves, her voice...all uniquely Shakira.

Gwen...Beyonce...or God forbid, Ashlee...boring. Give me Shakira. :D

One of the cool things about Shakira is that she has a unique ethnic heritage that she allows to inform her sound. So she has this arabic sound that would tend to stand out in a choir. Obviously though, not blending in has it's perks. The same thing (inability to assimilate) launched the career of Bebe Neuwirth. :up:
