View Full Version : X-Men are Indigo
Yes, fear not, the X-Men are amongst us...
Are They Here to Save the World? (http://www.boingboing.net/2006/01/12/nyt_on_indigo_childr.html)
The full article's kind of interesting - New Agey's are so cute :D
There's lavish amounts of denial and dreamy wishful-thinking from the 'experts' and proud parents, but at least the idea of not Ritalin-ing all anomalous kids into a coma has a kind of sense to it ;)
I don't know what to believe about this, but it's interesting for sure. It would be good to see some studies done to correlate these kids with your average kid because there doesn't seem to be anything conclusive as of yet. But thanks Golgot :)

I couldn't get the whole article to load so will have to try later… but I read a book on auras once that said the darker ones were not a good thing…

This is true....but the labelling continues. Try to survive a day in the playground telling everyone you are an 'indigo' kid.
A good comparision to the X-men....soon there will be an uprising of indigo children similar but taller than the average A.D.D kid, who disrupt but justify themselves by their auras. 'You can't touch me, i'm indigo'.
Well, when you're accounting for difference some sort of labelling is still necessary i guess - it becomes more about avoiding unnecessary stigma instead. A mild example would be the way 'left-handed' has lost its negative connotations (and 'cack-handed' can now be applied to anyone ;))
Still, like you say, the indigo kids would have to band auras to survive any sort of playground ;). (The X-men comparison was made in another article i read btw - they focused on the proponent's idea that these are a new 'evolution' of humanity - and not just another scatty bunch of humans ;))
