I've tried to record to this thing several times, but my mic is always too quiet to hear (despite that it works fine with other voice software). Just imagine a 20 year old who sounds like he has been smoking a pack a day for 40 years, because for some odd reason that is what I sound like even though I've never smoked a day in my life.

exactly , if i was too meet any of you in person i wouldn't think twice about how my voice sounds ( despite the fact that people hear me differently than i hear myself which freaks me out ), but when you talk or record you voice through the net, suddenly the voice is the main focus.....which is bad....the point being, i think it's akward because it's not how you hear yourself. if i could record my voice the way i hear myself i would have no problems what so ever....

probably not. Unless you think you have a quite deep voice and in reality you sound like one of the chipmunks :p but yeah it's the same for me I sound so different on recordings......well I think I do. Actually i've had a lot of circumstances where I've heard recordings of some of my friends talking and they get very self-conscious claiming they don't sound like that at all, but they do in reality......and they don't sound bad at all. Perhaps when we speak we hear differently through our ears :confused:
