Most of us have seen the movie Fight Club and it's crazy storyline. However, who would have thought it would have started a crazy thing such as actual fight clubs? Mind you, they aren't very well looked upon but, they are there. There's one at my school and I've taken part in their activities a couple of times. So tell me, do you all know of any fight clubs around your local area? Lol. Probably not I'd guess. :)

:nope:

I wouldn't join a fight club anyway. Somehow, I don't think real fight clubs are as cathartic and inspiring as the film leads on.

I'd think boxing or tai kwon doe or something would provide the same outlet, with the added benefits of
1. gaining skills
2. not getting seriously hurt
3. not getting kicked out of school for fighting

If you want to vent stress and get a good workout at the same time, try racquetball! Nobody gets killed and you still get the satisfaction of pounding that ball as hard as you can!

We've got several serious restrictions and a trained medical personnel near by at all times. It the strictest sense it really is boxing just we don't have much of a point to the fighting. :) Trust me, if I was worried that what we were doing was dangerous I'd more then gladly rat them out. :) You think I would be so dumb as to go out and actually do what they did in the movie? Lol. No. :nope: Life is not a movie. :nope: :)

We used to fight all the time at school too though it was because of hormones and not Fight Club.

Maybe they were cathartic hormones...

I don't fight at my school it cost too much to get into and if I would get kicked out then my dad would beat the s**t out of me.:D

There are some in the area (so I've heard at least) but my school is too strict for people to fight. They do sometimes anyway, but it never gets a chance to escalate.

Well, when you call it "Fight Club", you assume that it's like Fight Club in that these guys will fight each other until one gives up or goes limp and injuries be damned - but then you reveal it's like boxing with medicos, and it's just underwhelming.

But which is always your first preference, to love or to fight?

The book is better.

Bought it recently. Will start reading after I finish Orwell's 1984. :D

(As an aside, I started reading Palahniuk's Stranger Than Fiction here and there, and it's great.)

I started one in my area. It is a good way to vent. Location is hard to come by though. Fighting is not condoned.
