Well, in reality, he pronounces his name (Polamalu) as PAH-luh-MAH-loo. But sportscasters tend to mispronounce it. Hence the song, which is hilarious. Although we all got tired of it here in da 'Burgh once it had been on the airwaves for several months straight.

Oops, no, there is some confusion here. The original song was a Sesame Street sketch from as early as 1969. (It was also on The Muppet Show later.)

It was also used in a Dr. Pepper commercial quite some time later.

The previous link I posted was to a parody/takeoff of the Sesame Street sketch, done in honor of one of this year's champion Steelers, Troy Polamalu.

Heh that's hilarious, unfortunately I only knew the song from the muppets sketch and have no idea who the football player is (living in Australia and all) but listening to Austruck's MP3 was still pretty funny.
