That's my vote.If I didn't put your favorite part on there, then post it.:)

I would have to say mine is a combo of 1,2,3,4 & 6. Very good idea for a thread Sades. :D
Yes, very good idea: it allows me to bask in the glory of my own greatness, or something like that. :D And, of course, it honestly is valuable information at this point.

coolness...I actually thought this poll got deleted because I posted it in Intermission.I hope people find it over here.It took me awhile to find where it went.Thmilin-You're the one who changed my mind to stay...I love you.:)Spdrcr-thanks for the props, and thanks for defending me on the Kyra thing.I kinda shot my mouth off without thinking, and Chris deleted a post in her thread(it was pretty funny, but I'm glad it's gone:D)

You know you can delete your posts too Sades. I think I've posted a couple things before I regretted so I deleted them. I would rather be someone's friend rather than their enemy.
But anyways, I can't see why people find problems with this site, it's user-friendly, and everyone here is helpful in one way or another.
sadesdrk
10-08-01, 04:22 PM
Yeah...I was on my way to deleting it...Chris just beat me to it.I'm glad we have that option...it feels bad to have to get an e-mail from Chris...I felt like a bad girl...:(I hope you keep the option to delete.(OG said something about not keeping it?)
Yeah, I might have to ditch that option in the future...because it allows people to delete entire threads that they've started, basically.
sadesdrk
10-08-01, 05:30 PM
huh, that kind-of sucks. There's no way to keep the option to delete posts, and not threads?
Not sure...I'll have to look into it...but even the power to delete posts is a bit unnerving. It would really mess up certain discussions if a crucial post or something is deleted down the line.
Thats what Moderators are for!
<-------- :D:D

Well moderators aren't always doing their job. :D
Not trying to be mean, but it seems to me that its only just a title sometimes. But like I said, not trying to be mean. I think you guys do a good job keeping the peace so to speak. :)
I've only used my powers a few times, and mainly to censor words or phrases that shouldn't of been said. I haven't really seen much that I'd need to moderate...
Yeah, Spud is right...don't worry, no one is upset Spud. :) Peter has very rarely had to moderate anything...mainly because I'm so obsessed with keeping my own site running smoothly, and because the site isn't all that big just yet. It's mostly just a precaution, in case I'm not around.

Even if the delete feature is taken away, people can still mess with continuity by editing their post to delete all the information within and thereby leaving an empty post.
Yeah, I know...but it's the lesser of two evils, IMO. The editing, at least, is absolutely necessary. The web development forums I frequent now and then feature people who feel the need to delete their original computer question once it's answered...why, though, is beyond me. :)

I have learned that even though you figure something out after posting its always good to leave it up for those that might have the same problem sooner or later and need some advice.

sades, i love you too. glad i convinced you to stay! :D
OG, you suck! it's not fair. now you get the big bad title and i have to run around and play second fiddle. no one will remember the glory that was Ms. Thmilin Moderator in another ... day ... or so. :(
*sob*
oh sades, hold me, hold me!!

Yeah? Well I'm gaining on you...I might be a mere 2 or 3 hundred shy of my goal...but I'll superscede you spdrcr...especially after that comment you made about me being more confused than normal...Agh!

C'mon goes, talk about post counts was the same thing PLite was told off for, remember? :) Anyway, here's something related: on the new forum, members with a certain number of posts will be allowed to specify a CUSTOM title! :) Cizool, eh?
sadesdrk
10-09-01, 05:00 PM
That IS coolness.Of course you'll have to play Mr.Censorship again. You just know someone will come along and customize their's with something bad.BTW-we're not talking about post counts in a negitive way.I didn't even know how many I had untill I looked at it,first time in awhile actually.Thmilin-I'm the Empress of All That is Cool, want to be one too?I have an extra crown.TWT-have you thought anymore about those awards for post of the month,or whatever?
Actually I doubt it'll be a big problem...I'm fairly sure the censored words apply to all such things...posts, profiles, custom user titles, signatures, et-cetera...so all shall be cizzool. :) Not sure what the requirements for it and such shall be yet, though.
spudracer
10-09-01, 10:46 PM
I have an idea on what my customized title will say. :D..
You have no idea how impatient you are making me TWT. I don't think I can wait any longer for this new site. I'm getting to the point where I'm gonna pop anytime.
That's the idea, Spud. Get you completely batty over it...that way you'll visit compulsively in hopes that the new site will be up. :D Anyway, I do worry about hyping it TOO much...I have to wonder if it can possibly meet the expectation it now has set for it...but believe me, I'm putting lots of time into it. In fact, I can now reveal that the bulk of time in finishing it, from now on, will consist of making decisions. The programming has progressed quickly in the last week or two, so I've found myself spending as much time trying to decide what goes where, etc, as I have actually implementing the ideas.

In retrospect, you probably shouldn't have adopted the Stanley Kubrick Method (which states that everything should take eight to ten times longer than it should take). :D
Yes, good point...maybe then I'd be praised relentlessly. :) Seriously, though, I'm not full of hot air...it REALLY is coming along...and well, at that. Stopped working on it for a minute or two to write this post, ironically. :D

10-09-01, 11:53 PM
I'm seriously dyin' over here with anticipation! I know it will be good...it will be great! If it's any better than this site...then it will exceed my expectations.I'm just stoked I will be a part of it...on the WINGS OF DISCOVERY!!:)

I think I've asked this before, but I'll ask it again just to be certain. Is the site's address still going to be what it is now, or are you going to get a new one and still have this address point to the forums?
Same URL: MovieForums.com. However, since MovieForums.com will not longer take you directly to the forums, I'll have some other easy-to-use URL that you guys can use if you want to jump right to them...
spudracer
10-10-01, 10:15 AM
You should go with MoFo.com or something like that. Probably already taken, but it would be funny to see that as the address. :D
Yeah, 'twoud...but the Law Firm of Morrison and Foerstor already has it. :) Oh well...no big deal.
spudracer
10-10-01, 10:20 AM
That's funny that a law firm has that address. LOL

Some sites do this, and I have to wonder if you're going to do this as well, but like around Oscar time are you gonna change the sites look?? Then after its over and done with change it back. Just wondering. :D
Dunno. I'll probably have some kind of coverage. If there is a chance, it'll probably be a little Oscar statue plastered on top of the logo, or something like that, ya know? :)

Hey,TWT...you never answered my question about the awards for best posts and postee...are you gonna do it? Or are ya still thinkin' about it? I think the top 10 thing in the members pages would be more interesting if it was based on quality, not quantity. What sayeth you?
Sorry about that: I've thought of it a little bit, and I'll keep it in mind, but if you want to know if it will be part of the new site's initial release, the answer is no...don't want things to take any longer than they already have. As for the Top 10 Members: there's no statistical way to measure quality, I'm afraid. :( The new site will not have Intermission posts count against a member's total, however...so that'll help a little bit...though I don't mean to imply that there's no quality in the Intermission forum.
sadesdrk
10-11-01, 04:12 PM
Oh...well yeah. That will help a lot. Thanks for the update on that particular notion...:D

the way that every opinion is not the same about everything. It makes a lot of discussions more interesting and useful when there are 2 sides (or more) to an argument
spudracer

I agree with that mecurdius. Very opinionated people here, and that's always a good thing. Cause you may see it one way, while someone else will see it a totally different way. Always a resourceful tool. :D

I enjoy the the fact that I can use this site as a refrence tool as well as a place to voice an opinion. So often,I've said things like,"Who was that guy in..." and within a couple of minutes,I've got the answer.:D

The posters have always been the best part, which is why it's sad to witness what has happened here over the past few weeks.
I just glanced over at the other board, and it seems the rift between factions is nearly irreparable now. :(
sadesdrk
10-16-01, 05:23 PM
I'd say it's been the worst thing to happen on here in awhile, but the nice thing that came from all of that,is...there is no more fighting or hurt feelings.I feel that being forced to sort-of choose sides, helped to gain a tighter bond between posters too.We all got to know each other really well through all that mess. It's sad,I see what you're saying Art,but some good did come of it..."Always look on the bright side of life...wee-hoo,wee-hoo,wee-hoo,wee-hoo...":D
