Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the SithThis November 1st will be a landmark day for fans to celebrate the saga with two major releases in Star Wars home entertainment. The explosive and emotional finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, arrives on DVD.


Lucasfilm and Fox Home Entertainment present a two-disc set for the 'Revenge of the Sith' DVD, with uncompromising picture and sound mastered directly from the original digital source material. The DVD will include a brand-new full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. as well as two new featurettes -- one that explores the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, and the other that looks at the movie's amazing stunts. A 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's groundbreaking web documentary series, Making Episode III, will also be included in the set. A two-level playable demo of "Star Wars Battlefront II" is also included on the DVD.Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith


"Revenge of the Sith gave audiences an extraordinary experience, and we want this DVD to do the same," said Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. "From the beginning of production, George wanted to be sure we chronicled everything that went into the making of Episode III specifically to create an incredible DVD experience. This DVD has literally been three years in the making, and it's going to be a fantastic way to complete the Star Wars saga at home."

In addition to its November 1st debut in the U.S. and Canada, Revenge of the Sith debuts on DVD in most major territories around the world on or about the same day.

Looks like Fox are chucking out the version of Alien VS Predator that they should have done to start off with:

I've read on another site that this new version will come in at 115mins, which if true should prove interesting as the extra scenes being added apparently don't make up the time to make the feature run to 115mins (footage not yet seen????).

Warner home video has raised the SRPing on single movie only releases for some of its top titles. Although, always keep in mind that when a DVD advertises the SRP, it is just that. The suggested retail price.

Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/102-2870012-5924121) is selling both versions at $15.98. While Wal Mart's web site (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/search-ng.gsp?search_constraint=3944&search_query=batman+begins&ics=20&ico=0) offering the discs at a $4.00 difference...single disc for $15.87 and tyhe double disc for $19.88.Alrighty then. I love that unrated Land of the Dead art work I will definitly be picking that movie up the day it comes out.

And Jrs im confused The Book of the dead edition for Evil dead 2 is that region 1 because I know they made one for the first evil dead but I can't find it in any stores they just have plain dvd versions with no special features. So are these two region 1 or 2

Lionsgate Home Video will be releasing the 15th Anniversary Edition of Reservoir Dogs onto DVD October 24th. Arriving as a 2-Disc set, it will come with a limited collectible gasoline can packaging. Stay tuned for further details including cover art and complete specs. Expect a Blu-Ray disc to hit shelves same day and date.

Christopher Reeve Superman Collection November 28th - Complete Details

In celebration of the year of Superman Warner Home Video have announced a host of DVD releases to be released November 28th, all starring the late Christopher Reeve in his landmark portrayal of the Man of Steel. Leading the way will be the long-awaited Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut ($24.98 SRP), directed by Donner and representing Superman II as it was originally conceived [and intended to be filmed. An overwhelmingly requested title, the movie features Donner's original footage, shot but never used before, including a never-before-seen beginning, a never-before-seen resolution, with 15 minutes of restored footage of Marlon Brando as Jor-El and much more.


Other titles to be released include Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition ($39.92 SRP) which features both the DVD debut of the 1978 theatrical version as well as the 2001 extended edition with commentary from director Richard Donner and Tom Mankiewicz, archival footage of additional scenes and screen tests.


Richard Lester's ever-popular Superman II will be available in a new Two Disc Special Edition ($26.99 SRP) including a new featurette, vintage television specials and additional vault elements; and Superman III and Superman IV Deluxe Editions ($19.97 SRP). Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut


Superman II will delight fans who, for years, have been imploring Warner Home Video via voluminous numbers of petitions, letters, phone calls and e-mails to release the Donner cut.

In fact, Donner had already shot most of the Superman II footage during Superman: The Movie. But as production on the sequel continued, creative differences between the director and the film's producers became irreconcilable and Donner left the project. Although Richard Lester was hired to finish production, he chose to make major changes to the film, leaving only vestiges of Donner's original vision and concepts in the version of Superman II that was ultimately released to theaters.


Now, nearly thirty years later, Warner Home Video is honoured to grant the wishes of countless Superman fans. With this DVD release, Richard Donner has become the first director in history to be able to complete a film he left during production with nearly all his footage "in the can." Adding back a substantial amount of that unused footage, the director has seen his original vision restored and brought to fruition.


Most notably, the "Donner cut" restores the Marlon Brando role, filmed for, but not included in the final theatrical release version of Superman II. The legendary Brando's performance as Jor-El has finally been restored in key scenes that amplify Superman lore and deepen the profound relationship between father and son.


With so many other changes, large and small, including a variety of Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) schemes to unmask Clark Kent as Superman, this Superman II will prove to be an eye-opening experience and an important addition to film history.
