Most of the art on my walls at home are things I bought from the artist/photographers themselves. Here are a couple of things that are google-able, that I also have.:
A small print of this:

And a larger, framed print of this, by Claude Monet:

A Maxfield Parrish print called "Autumn Afternoon" that has a similar feel to this other painting of his:

I have a copy of Dali's The Temptation of St. Anthony in my living room... He painted this one to enter into a contest held by Alfred Hitchcock

I'll be back to post a few more...
Love the Parrish, Sammy.
I used to have that Dali in my LR as well, Caity, but when we moved it got dropped, broken and creased. I rolled it up thinking I would try to save it, but it just got into more trouble that way...

I've got a few Giacomelli prints, just love his faces -

And this Seurat -

I've a few numbered prints by Irish artists too and there's a couple of Monet prints hanging in the bedroom, but we all know what they look like. :)
EDIT - I bought this a few weeks ago, no idea who it's by but the picture's got a nice simple quality.

That last picture is interesting - I like the colors and composition. Is it a painting or a ceramic tile?

It probably bodes well for you that you buy paintings in pairs. Something about that is nice.
That Giacomelli print - is it a photo or painting? It's really cool, has a folk-art feeling. You have cool taste in art, D.

On a side note, my dad once told Big Ian to **** off at Belfast airport in the 70s. The Fire & Brimstone merchant had apparently commented on my father's tie (records don't show if it was a positive or negative comment though, and your humble author wasn't there to corroborate).

That last one I really like, Sed... A bit spooky... What's the name of the artist? Unknown....and I really love it too.... The site I found it on says it's Dali, but it isn't.... At least I have never seen it in his collections, and I have three or four extensive Dali books at home. The man was prolific, to be sure, but I am pretty sure it isn't him. If it is, it wouldn't be the first time a painting has surprised me by being his when I thought it wasn't....
Well....I just found another site (asian this time), that has this posted in their Dali section as well....It might just be his....
There are six or eight paintings I don't recognize on the site, so it very well could be his, and my Dali knowledge = ****.
A lot of great Dali on the site, check it out.... (http://ebaomonthly.com/window/arts/dali/dali_20.htm)

Tacitus~ those are both wonderful. Bacon was off his rocker, but I love his stuff. That one is considerably happier than the Screaming Popes series! And the face in the first one is great - so cool how much is indicated with fairly loose brushwork.

Yup, art has to be seen up close - every swirl of the brush, every scratch of the knife.
I can remember when I was around 17, clueless about art and standing in front of a pretty minor Van Gogh painting at The Tate in London - we'd gone on a school trip and were doing the 'tourist' sites. I must have stood looking, staring for 20 minutes totally lost in the work...

Unfortunately I haven't been to the museum or New York since the MoMa's remodeling so I don't know where that Boccioni is displayed now (or if they have it in storage), but it used to be at the top of the first set of stairs to the left as you walked up.

Well your welcome, if you ever want to give me a private art show, be my guest. I like looking at art. It's calming and hypnotizing, you know?
Probably if you did suddenly gain the ability you'd want to give it up right away, lol.
Sure, maybe I'll send you the one I'm working on once it's finished. Yes, I love it.. I could look at art all day... it's kind of like looking into someone's mind, isn't it? :p

Haha You are very right. whenever I think of minds being read I think of the movie What Women Want with Mel Gibson. haha.
Yeah I think so too. I always thought it was like they were expressing what they felt inside about whatever they painted and took it outside for everyone to see. Art makes everything so much more beautiful because it's in another person's perspective and it makes you have a new view on something as simple as a cloud.

Mhm, I agree with that. I also like forming my own perspective of it, even if it meant something else for the artist, yanno?
I've found a lot of great art posted on Tumblr.

Yeah, I always liked to pretend I was there and saw them draw and why.
Do you like darker art? I like the last one a lot. I like how it makes me want to cry. :P
The first one excites me because I like anatomy. I'm in the medical field, or will be, in like a week! Yay! But I like how you see the inside and outside.
Does Tumblr have a lot of art regularly? I wouldn't mind looking online although my favorite way to observe is in art galleries. Do you have many in your city?

I'm into surrealistic, mostly.. I'm inclined towards darker stuff, I think, yeah.
That's awesome! \o/ anatomy is fun!
Good thing about tumblr is it has a lot of everything regularly it depends on what sort of blogs you choose to follow. I live in art-less wasteland, closest museum is probably 3 hours, haha. I envy you -.-
More art, rawr

Darker art used to scare me a lot like The Scream, but that has changed a lot since I've grown up. I'm more interested in it and envious of people who could draw like that because if I tried, I'm sure it would just look sad, lol.
What do you do for a living?
I think the place that has the best art in WA is Seattle although we do have a couple in my city. I think my state is overall just artsy fartsy, lol. Do you live in the US?
I really enjoy the "angel" It looks like it's breaking free from hell. Do you think the second one is of bugs or human bugs?

Well at least it would show some kind of emotion. I'm currently unemployed *Cue violin*... Yeah, I'm in the US, I'm jealous of your state, I wish mine was artfully-flatulent.. At least our trees grow buckeyes, so.. hah! Oh, yeah.. you're right.. I didn't notice that before. Maybe they were once humans but they were turned grotesque because of their gossiping over dinner..?

Do you mind me asking why you don't work? I'm not against. And I know it isn't always a choice thing either. I'm just a curious killer of cats! lol. I know someone from a state kinda like that. He takes my mom and siblings over there and they have a lot of fun apparently lol.
You know, I think you may be right lol. Damn gossipers!

I know it's a lot of people's favorites but I love this Starry Night more than any of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings.
Nice choice, that's one of my all time favourite paintings. He had a nice view, I believe he painted it while he was in hospital.
My second favourite from the artist, Wheatfield with Crows:

Oh I love that! I don't believe I've ever seen it unless I'm just blind, lol. I think my second favorite of his is the self potrait with cut ear.

I think he's like my favorite artist although I love Monet a lot too. I also really enjoy photographs.

Unicorn farts aren't in high demand these days. :(
Here's that drawing I was working on.

I like it, I like how you use your shadows, it gives your art depth. How did you get them on your computer? Scanning?

I used a program on the computer to do these.. so no need to upload. I haven't any paintings from real life on my PC.
Still hoping you'll post some of your stuff on here:p

I will lol, I just have to wait till I go get it. Or go by some supplies. I've been studying for finals all week and have two more tomorrow so it wont be until after that that I will be done.
Great thread.
How could you people allow this to die? Shame on you!
This forum could use a Search function, by the way.
I'm no fine art aficionado but I love it when people share beauty for mutual appreciation. I'm very fond of Romantic and Impressionistic paintings.
Here's "Draugen" from Theodor Kittelsen.

One thing I do enjoy is art
