It is so great to have a place where intelligent, kind people gather to talk about film, music, literature, world events and how to have cybersex. :D Tons of people start message boards and many are centered around film, but precious few treat their membership so well. It's paid off in the tone of this place, and it's appreciated.

Happy Anniverssary MOFO! I think Sammy said it perfectly, it's very rare to find a place like this on the web, and i'm happy that this is the one and only online community i am apart of. The atmosphere is always perfect, the people are always entertatining and the newbies are always shamed ;)

I was thinking the other day, (whilst in the shower i'll have you know) that it is down to MOFO that i have learnt so much. Without being mushy i seriously owe this site and it's members so much gratitude for the things i have learnt about film and the wonderful people that are apart of it. The beautiful Cinematography of a film, the wonderful scripts, the eye popping editing and who would have thought a little film called Requiem for a Dream would make me want to vomit and cry at the same time, or that a strange film called Magnolia, directed by that bloke who made Boogy Nights would become one of my favourite movies. To experience that tingle of excitement after watching a truly wonderful film, or the utter devestation you feel for your favourite character, or the funniest moment you have ever seen, and share these experiences with people that feel exactly the same as you is a rare thing. God bless thee MOFOians.

I can't say anything different or better than others have so I'll just say, thank you to all you Mofos for being so kind and welcoming and making sure this remains such a truly wonderful place. That's right, it's so great I think of it as a place and not just a website. :D :D :D

Edit: the index adress is www.movieforums.com/community and it really is a community of people who really care about and respect each other. I doubt there is any other forum quite like that on the net and there aren't to many places like that offline either.

We've shared heartfelt moments; death of family members, loss of pets, control of our lives. We've shared our success; new jobs, new relationships, new milestones. We survived 9/11, hurricanes, fires and rolling blackouts. We've watched our world change before our eyes. We've been asked to remove our shoes at the airport, been felt-up by security and asked to hand over our lighters.
We've seen Spider Man; and it wasn't bad. We've seen The Hulk; which was bad. We've experienced the Star Wars prequels, Donnie Darko and the rebirth of the musical.
We've seen threads like "Which Movie is This?" and "Please look at My Website" infiltrate our screen. We've responded to "The Person Above Me Thread", "The Ups and Downs of Your Day Thread" and "What are You Doing at This Very Moment Thread" more times than we care to admit!
We've grown to understand the caustic wit of Holden Pike, Silver Bullet and Yoda. We endured the many faces of Django, each time hoping he would just listen and respond objectively (but we secretly enjoyed his little spats with Yoda).
All of this and we still log on to Movie Forums; most of us everyday. We still come together when we can. We check the CP and New Posts link. We check out the "Active Users" link-- We "Shout".
We are friends. 1-2-3-4-5 years later; we are friends.
