View Full Version : Celebrity Encounters.
Any one have any celebrity stories. Do tell... I've met Bill Murray...ummm...My dad knows Harold Ramis, my stepmom's friend is a writer for some newspaper in San Fransico and hes met a TON of stars. Lets see what else... I met Tonny Twist in an airport, he plays for the St. Louis Blues, and I've met Bret Hull and Mark McGwuire (I can't even spell his name right, i dont think so at least.) Thats about it though. Oh and if you watched the funeral for the former governer of MO, I know the rabbi who went on right after Clinton spoke. And I once saw Clinton and Gore running laps around my old neighborhood's park. Thats all for me.

I grew up in the same neighborhood that Tom Green was from. It is a development outside of Ottawa, Canada. I met him on several occasions throughout the area. I got his autograph after a performance at Gloucester, Ontario. For those who don't know....Tom Green started out as a member of a Rap group named "Organized Rhyme" when he had just finished high school. They were a successful group in Canada for a couple of years. Then when that was over he got his little show on the local channel 22 (using cheap cameras). And of course now he's on MTV. Anyways....his group was performing at Gloucester and he signed his rap goup name, which was "Bones." All the other times I've met him, he was doing what every other nutty Canadian does from the Orleans, Ont area (run around and make hilarious scenes or just bug people, making jokes). I saw him in the mall on several occasions and just skateboarding downtown Ottawa. He is by far the funniest bastard I have ever met.
I also have played basketball at one of the gyms I've been to with Laurence Taylor (LT), lifted with/played basketball with Keith Van Horn at another gym, and met Phil Simms because I played against his son in High school basketball.

I met Stevie Ray Vaughn at Love Field many, many years ago. I've met Governor Bush (before he was Governor) and Jack Kemp (before he ran for VP. I met him at a Dallas airport, too, but it was DFW rather than Love). I met Drew Pearson at the Mall in Grapevine. I met the guy who played Chekov on Star Trek at Universal Studios when I was 11 years-old. I shook Dan Quayle's hand at a Mall in Fort Worth in 1992. I met Martha Quinn (former MTV VeeJay) after a speech at a community college. I also met Art Linklater at the same community college, but I met him before he gave his speech. I'm friends with Lonnie Maclin, but he's not so much famous (he did play for the St. Louis Cardinals for a spell), and I met Todd Burns when he played for a minor league baseball team I worked for (Burns played for the A's and pitched in a World Series). And speaking of Oakland, I've met former Raiders QB Jeb Blount.
Oh, and I met Frankie Banali from Quiet Riot one time. He came into a record store where a friend of mine worked and hung out for a while when he was in town for a concert.
I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that I remember.
Alright, here goes (big one is at the end!!!):
I had the chance to meet Steve Forbes and Alan Keyes, but passed it up at the time.
I got to meet a New York Yankees scout and try on his World Series ring!
My grandfather originally discovered Mike Piazza while he was in high school.
Jean Claude Van Damme shot a movie near my old house - very near! At least parts of it, that is. It was "Sudden Death" the hockey one.
Remember the strip-club scene in "Kingpin"? I used to live in a house where you could walk to that strip club in about 2 minutes.
My parents saw James Earl Jones in an airport in San Francisco.
My dad has a couple TV shows and a radio show...
I talked with SF Giants pitcher Russ Ortiz through an Instant Message.
My grandfather is in the Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame...
I am Batman.
My stepmother was in a music festival with Trent Reznor - IE: Nine Inch Nails.
My mother is good friends with Diane Gabaldon - author of several bestsellers. Run a search for her on Amazon.com. :)
I've met Mr. Rogers.
I got to run all over the field and in the dugouts in Three Rivers Stadium...home of the 1994 All Star Game. I slid across the entire dugout seat, and stood in the batter's box...so basically I was in the same box/seat as Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken, Frank Thomas, Barry Bonds, and a bunch of others!
Okay, here's the big one!
My mother, brother, and myself go to a Weird Al Yankovic concert. My mom tells me that last time she went, they told everyone that Al wasn't going to come out after the show no matter how long they waited, but that she stuck around for awhile, and got to see him come out and sign autographs anyway.
We try the same after the concert, but keep getting refuted...eventually it becomes evident he's not coming and we're nearly forced to leave. We're all very bummed at this point.
We start to leave, upset with this dissapointment and lost time, when we see someone jogging across the parking lot - a fairly large parking lot. We recognize him as Al's keyboard player! We ask him if he wants a ride in our car - he accepts and gets in. We drive him to some hotel where he said he had a bet to pay off or something (might have been a joke)...he says thank you, and if we drive him back to the concert area, (just a few hundred feet or so, I think), he'd be glad to get us in backstage to see Al.
We wait outside while he goes into to get things approved for us, and lo and behold: we see the same security guy who almost forced us to leave earlier! He says "You finally got in, huh?" with a smile...we make it into a surprisingly small backstage area with no more than a dozen people, and we get autographs and a picture with Al.
It was amazing!
That sounds pretty cool, batman. Have you ever heard of a band called Godhead? I haven't but today I talked to their lead singer today. Their going on tour with Marylin Manson soon.
Never heard of them, but I sure don't think much of Marilyn Manson.
Now, if you'll exscuse me, I've got crime to fight. :)

I met Alan Keyes at my church. I met J.C. Watts at DFW airport.
I was in a tiny shoe store in the Galleria (Dallas) at the same time as Eric Clapton.
On our honeymoon in Hawaii, we sat at the table next to Oprah Winfrey.
We used to ski in Aspen and were always running across Goldie Hawn, Sonny and Cher.
My family and Jim Nabors were the sole customers in a restaurant in Hawaii.
My dad has had lunch several times with William F. Buckley, Jr.
Rick Cua (of the Outlaws) called me on the phone.
My dad was a consultant to Ross Perot. He worked with him personally.
I met Roy Robertson (creator of the Bridge Illustration). I met Bill Bright (Campus Cruscade) and John MacArthur. I've met and talked on the phone with Tom Nelson (Song of Solomon).
I met James Lovell (Apollo 13).
I know the former Governor of South Carolina, Carroll Campbell.
Last March, I got to meet Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S. Dak.), House Ways and Means Chairman Bill Archer (R-Texas), National Economic
Council Director Gene Sperling, Under Secretary of the
Treasury for Domestic Finance Gary Gensler, and White
House Deputy Chief of Staff Steve Richetti.

Oh, I forgot. One of my teachers from High School later became a romance novelist. She publishes under the name Jodi Thomas. I haven't read any of her stuff, though.
And it seems like the Dallas airports are a good place to meet people, especially Republican politicians. :)
I met tony dungi on a plane to tampa/St. pete; it's kinda cool, because you can just walk upto people on a plane, and what are they gonna do? they can't really walk away from you - esp. when they're on the window seat...
I've also met Jeremy Kissgner (Great Expectations, Dog of Flanders), who actually has the same agent as I do (Along with one of the guys from American Pie...I forgot his name though).
And I've met David Copperfield (The magician...not the mouse.) a couple of times.
And that's all I can really think of right now.

Hey, JRS....
Fill me in on some of the work you have done.
I havn't done a whole lot of stuff, and what I have is mostly in my area. Anyways...some of the stuff I've done is below:
Print
Jim Woosley, Fashion Photographer
Real Cool Colorado Places for Curios Kids
Stage/Media
Teen Violence (KNOF 95.3 FM, MPLS)
The Emporer's New Clothes
And I have a bunch of training and stuff - I'm also in about 6 bands where I'm the drummer. I havn't talked to my agent for a little while, but right now it's really slow, so I havn't been going to that many auditions.
My resume is actually longer than that, but those are the things that are most recent/funnest.

i'm jealous people you've had some real encounters eh ... not fair not fair!! this is cool...six degrees of separation (or something similar) really applies. everybody knows somebody who knows somebody ... cool.
as for me, no real heavy stars. sigh!! there's:
1) when I was a kid I was growing up in Singapore and that's an ex-British colony so ... roundabout, but Roald Dahl came through and sat and had an "interview" with the entire elementary grades, talking about his books (his KID books ... not the other naughty ones, we weren't aware of THOSE ;) and such. i was young so I just remember a crumbly old man, rather tall and with a cane. :)
2) also while I was in Singapore, Alex Haley (the writer of the book Roots that got made into a 9 hour miniseries starring Levar Burton in the 1980s and was a social blockbuster) was visiting and new a family friend so the daughter of the family friend and I, young and impressionable, went to harass him in his hotel suite for a pic and autograph (though at the time I had no real idea who he was, just that he was a writer :).
3. and by association, being here at Stanford I've seen the Clinton parents at our convocation, Chelsea passing by, and Mr. Bill gave a speech at the convocation. Also, Fred Savage left the year I came or something and there are all sorts of famous alumni and apparently other current famous students who i never see cause I"m always working or in class ... ah well.
4. Luke Skywalker (or the guy who played him) went to my high school in South Korea (Seoul American High School) ... of course, this was before my time but hey, association again!
5. While driving up through Napa Valley, near which my family lives, we were on the smaller highway (2 lanes each side) but which is more relaxed compared to the crazy highways further south of Napa, and as we're going up a hill into napa we see a nice sports car convertible and some long blonde hair flying in the wind on a beautiful woman sitting next to ... Kelsey Grammar, freshly married to his current wife. They went speeding past grinning like there was no tomorrow and family and friends gawked from the car but we were all going so fast in passing it didn't really constitute as anything.
6. In Fairfield/Vallejo (northern california between sacramento and San Francisco), places where there isn't much action going on, there's a silly miniature golf place (with batting cages and a little mini race track) called Scandia. Useless information until one day we learned that fresh after leaving later on that day Michael Jordan was in the batting cages practicing, and he'd come with a friend in the area he was visiting.
Most of mine were almost saw or kind of missed, the only in person one is the Alex Haley one. Outside of that, nothing so grand as your experiences ;D.

I read "Esio Trot" and wrote a crappy book report on it in 5th grade. :D Good book.
Naughty books? Wha? I've no idea what you're referring to.

Randy Travis sang some songs from his new CD called "Inspirational Journey" at our church service on Saturday night. I stood about 3 feet from him after the service while I was waiting for someone to counsel. Didn't introduce myself though.

Roald Dahl was quite a dirty old man. The same sick mind that made us delight in gas of all kinds in the BFG is the same kind of man who'd write randy books in the 1970s ... go to the library and you'll find them alongside Matilda and such... Um, your mom won't let you read them though :).
Oh...I had no idea! That's pretty odd. Esio Trot was a good book, though. :) I do love the word "randy" though. :D

well, this is baseball, but my dad just today ran into alex rodriguez in the lobby of the hotel my dad was staying at! my dad didn't actually "run into him" but he did see him sitting down talking to his lawyer, my dad was gonna try to get an autograph (dang, i'm surprised the gov. actually paid for my dad to stay at a hotel that was "worthy" enough of having arod in it! lol. I read in the newspaper today that arod was in Denver talking to the Rockies today.
I'm so jelous! i would die to meet him! (but i would be willing to have his dumb agent die!)

I was a student at the University of Missouri at the same time as Brad Pitt and Sheryl Crow. In fact, Brad's fraternity house in Greektown was next door to Sheryl's sorority house.
Whoa - pretty cool. :)

1) I met Martin Short backstage after a performance of The Goodbye Girl on Broadway.
2) Julia Roberts and Jason Patric were at O'Hare airport several years ago. They bought coffee and stood in line in front of me at the information counter for a flight to New York.
3) I've met and hung out with Jeff Gordon and his wife Brooke several times.
4) I saw Stallone at the Russian Tea Room, but couldn't get close enough for a really good look.
5) Saw Bruce Willis, Chris Farley (a few weeks before his death), Sandra Bullock, and Jean Claude Van Damme at the Indianapolis opening for Planet Hollywood...which by the way shut down about 9 months ago..:(
6) Met David Justice (he was one of the Braves at the time) and Dion Sanders (he was one of the Reds at the time) at a baseball game in Cincinatti.
7) Saw Sally Field at the Dallas airport in October.
8) Talked to Chuck Norris at martial arts exhibitions.
9) Saw Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell, and Penny Marshall at the shooting of A League of Their Own a few miles south of where I live.
10) Saw Vice President Al Gore get into a limo outside of The Naitonal Archives building in Washington, D.C. about 6 years ago.
11) Saw Jack Nicholson, Goldie Hawn, and Kurt Russell in Vail, CO when I went on a skiing trip.
12) Saw Melannie Griffith and Ed Harris filming Milk Money in Cincinatti.
13) Saw Paul Newman, Tom Cruise, and Jay Leno from a distance a couple of years ago at the Brickyard 400.
That's all I can remember.
Wow - Laurie's list puts ours to shame. :) Those are some fabulous sightings.

I was at my grandma's 80th birthday party(yes, she is still alive and well) at the Four Seasons in Chicago and a few tables away from us was Eric LaSalle and George Clooney from ER. Later on I went to the bathroom and got situated in my urinal of choice and i look up and guess who is in the urinal next to me!?! Eric LaSalle.
That's pretty cool - did you get a chance to say hello to either of them?

Ok, my little contribution to the list!
I was a volunteer at the Sydney Olympic Games, so I got to see a couple of people, mostly atheletes...here goes:
- I met the whole Team USA before the opening ceremony. I also saw Martina Hingis, Monica Seles and talked to Lindsey Davenport (she's REALLY tall!) I also met Ian Thorpe (young Aussie swimmer, broke a hell of a lot of records).
- Also during the Olympics, I got a picture with Michael Johnnson at Planet Hollywood for his birthday celebration!
- Met Alexander Karelin, Russian wrestler, never defeated in his career, nine times world champion, twelve times European champion and three Olympic Golds...of course lost for the first time to a US wrestler at these Olympics (I was there of course) :)
- Met those four guys from the USA team who won the 4 x 100 relay (you remember, the guys who were showing off :), got to wear the gold medal!!
- Got a pictre with Chelsea Clinton in front of the VIP lounge at the Gymnastics (she was surprisingly friendly)!
- Showed Bill Gates where the bathroom was!
- Finally, Juan Antonio Samaranch walked in front of me while I was trying to take a picture, by the time my camera refocused on him I got a pic of the back of his head!!
Well, that's all I can remember for now!

update to my little list ... aww, how the memories come back! :)
when i was in singapore, we had some presidential academic award in 1980-something and George Bush came to Singapore American School (the only american school in the country at the time) and handed out our awards.
and, i don't know how i forgot this, but Kerry Strugg (sp?), gymnast extraordinaire, also goes to Stanford and my first year going to school here i started working at my local dining hall. she lived in the same set of dorms and so came through the dining hall often and i often rang her up. very high pitched voice and very short! then, didn't see her at all really for the next few years but this quarter (the quarter i'm graduating, sheez) she's in one of my classes and has started showing up at the dining hall sometimes ... she often comes through with this girl who looks sorta like her, a little taller, maybe her cousin or sister or something, i think i heard she had a relative going here.
then ... chelsea clinton! now, like i think i said before, i only saw her and her parents at our convocation when we first started school, but since then, i've heard bits about people seeing her around campus and stuff. was at the hair salon this past weekend and my hair dresser said chelsea came in and bought some hair products - she rung her up, saw her credit card and everything, and the woman remembered to the last detail the price and items that chelsea bought! ;)
AND -
our men's basketball team (stanford) is currently the national best and also comes through our dining hall ... heheh, and so does the girls basketball and volleyball teams, and the football team. they come in after hours so we stay open just for them and i'm the only person there to ring them up so i get to enjoy the male teams (by view) and flirt a bit. very fun. i'm not into sports much so i don't even know most of these men's names, but they're all very cute, very sweet, and very silly.
stanford tends to get a lot of celebrities coming in/out, but i'm so lazy i never go to see them when they come for talks. my very first year, drew barrymore came and i didn't go. martin scorcesi came last year and i didn't go. bill gates has a building here he donated money to be built (and named after him) and came for that, and i didn't go. lots of stuff like that. that girl from dharma and greg came to give a talk on scientology, but i didn't go. obviously i'm not crying that i missed bill gates but i have regretted not going to see these folks. i think mainly i don't want to go cause everybody else would and it's that whole drool over the start thing and i'd rather meet them the way you've met them laurie - up close and personal! ;)
Crap, she's a scientologist? I liked Jenna Elfman. :(
Zephyrus

WHAT?!?!?!
Jenna Elfman is a SCIENTOLOGIST?! Aaaaawww crap :( I really thought she was a good actress, and very talented and whtnot, but this was unexpected! Hmmm I'm going to watch Battlefield Earth again...
Sharon Stone is in mensa, and Lisa Kudrow mastered in Biology.
Mira Sorvino speaks a few languages I believe - at least 2, but I could've sworn she spoke three. I think it's tough work to play someone stupid, so you need intelligent people to do so.
Intelligent people know how facial expressions and such work - it's almost like a sixth sense.
Laurie L

Jodie Foster is fluent in 9 languages. She told Larry King a few months back that anytime she shoots a film in a foreign country she learns the language in three weeks before filming starts. She also said she memorizes a script and never looks at it again throughout the making of the film.
I've got an update to my prior list. I went to Tucson this weekend. I got to the hotel early and had to wait three hours for a room. I waited in the lobby and noticed all these guys with guitar cases come in and sit down. They were talking about how it had been too cold to play the night before and that they were looking forward to getting back to L.A. After awhile I got up, went to the front desk to see if my room was ready, and saw Coolio come off the elevator. He stood right next to me and signed a photo for the hotel. Then he looked at me, probably waiting for me to ask for an autograph, but instead I said Hi. He said Hi, smiled, and went outside. He was so calm and quiet that I was kind of startled. I'm not really sure what I expected him to be like, but the whole time I was watching him, I kept waiting for him to break out into a rap or something...lol.
haha, that is so cool. Coolio is one of, if not my favorite, rappers.

I used to do movie reviews and as a result, I got to meet some pretty kick *** people.
All of the following are people that I met at the Toronto Film Festival.
Tom Cruse - Very nice, even signed an autograph for me when they were allowed.
Dan Aykrod - My idol! He was nice enough to chat with me about a possible Ghostbusters 3, which now looks to be not happening
Danny Glover
Jennifer Lopez - After getting chased out of the Antz press conference by some psycho press lady that was trying to yell at me for getting Aykroyds autograph I bolted to a back staircase to get out of the hotel I was in. When I was going down Jennifer Lopez was being escorted by her security. She looked at me...said "hello there" I almost lost it! I said Hello back to her and then she left...ahh.
Danny Glover
Christopher Walkin
Toby Maguire
Jeff Daniels
I was also able to meet James Cameron in Niagara Falls when his hometown celebrated his Titanic success.
Who have you met?
Steve
Pierce Brosnan bought a shaved ice from our store. I think he was with his ice--the first one. This was before he made it big in the movies. When he was in this TV show called Remington Something.

I met Cary Tagawa in the airport in Los Angeles. He was really cool. He sat with us while waiting to board the plane. Talked to my son about making Mortal Kombat(Shang Tsung). He said he was working on a "BIG" project that we would know about in a few weeks (turned out to be Pearl Harbor). Really nice guy!

I have never met anyone famous, but we have had a lot of famous people come out of the area around my town. Lucy's friend on I Love Lucy, what's her name? Tom Mix, who was a silent movie star, and a pallbearer for Wyatt Earp. Bill Kurtis, who does a lot of shows on A&E. I can't think of anymore right now, but there are a few of celebs, or not.
I had a teacher in high school who literally ran into Muhammed Ali at an airport. Big guy she said.
Other than that I've never met anyone famous, I don't do much looking either when Im out and about in the big city. Plus, half the time a celeb disquises themselves up for no attention, but that's only with the ones that can't handle it.
My dad ran into Dr. Ruth in the airport.
I myself though saw Jaun-Claude-Van-Damme (if that's how you say his name) in front of New York City's Planet Hollywood.

Hummm, celebritys I have known & had tea with, hahaha! :)
Eddie Izzard has come to our house, Pigsnie knows him. Ive also met Mr Bean, he laughed when I said he was the ugliest guy I ever seen. (I was 9.) I seen Jude Law & his wife in a pub, Clive andersen, Stephen fry, David Atenbrough, nicole Kidman (her skins so WHITE! like the underside of a fish!) & Jeremy northam. Saw him talkin to Pigsnie at heathrow and I wuz ignored of course.
Nobody wants to talk to crazy little kids! :(
Eddie Izzard!!! Sweet god! He is my favorite comedian. I envy you so much now!!!

Well he doesnt talk to me much. :( He just sez, youre in Harrow, poor chap & then he goes off into the library with Pigsnie where they start drinkin & tellin dirty stories. At least I think theyre dirty stories becuz the doors are always shut & I cant hear very well through closed doors, hahaha!
Anyhoo, he never wears makeup when he comes altho he does wear nailpolish. And he always wears a leather jacket, a tee & jeans & he never shaves & I dont think he even washes his hair very much.
That is soo damn cool. I wish I were you just to see him in person! That guy is insanely funny. Smartest sense of humor out of any comedian I have ever seen.
Michelle Yeoh was in the same swimming team as my Mother at school in Malaysia and they keep a fair amount of contact.
I met Michael Keaton's son this past weekend. He goes to the same college as my bro. He is really skinny. Looks like he has that back disorder that the woman in Pet Cemetery 2 had.
I once met Craig Charles (lister from red dwarf) in a pub!

I just got back from picking up a few things at the local market and saw Timothy Dalton there, for the second time.
My ex was in a show with Bebe Neuwirth and I got to meet her at the cast party. He was also in a movie with Mako, Shelley Winters and Patricia Neal. I was awed to meet both Neuwirth and Neal.
I went to see some theater a few months ago and we had to stand outside and wait for the house to open. The guy standing right beside me on the sidewalk was John Cusack. Also in the crowd: Susan Dey, and Angelica Houston. When we got into the show, my friend and I were seated on cushions on stage, right at the feet of the actors: Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.
I saw Gary Sinease at O'Hare airport.
I almost ran smack into Carol Burnette in the lobby of a hospital.
I did run smack into Ed Norton.
George Clooney laughed at me once... I saw him and Julianna Margolis having lunch at Warner Bros.
I've seen Scott Bacula, Matthew Perry and Alexis Bledel in traffic.
I've seen Elijah Wood, Brooke Sheilds, Kathy Griffin, Anthon Edwards, Noah Wiley, Geena Davis and Craig Kilborn do their jobs, on various sets.
My favorite though, is a guy I met online in a chatroom, who produced Animaniacs and was the basis for the character "The Brain". Have gotten together with him in person several times, and there is NO MISSING resemblance - they took his physical features, mannerisms and speaking rhythms for that little mouse. Nicest man with the blackest sense of humor anywhere. :)

You mean to tell me that the mouse is not real? What the Devil is going on? What's next?

I met Jim Carrey like 3 summers ago in California. It was very brief though. He stepped out of the limo, and I yelled hey Jim Carrey. And he turned and shook my hand and then yelled "HEY!" really loud in my ear. It was sweet. I couldnt hear that well out of it that one moment, but hey its a once-in-a lifetime chance that Jim Carrey will yell in your ear.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...
While dipping in my misguided youth. I found myelf in a state of trippyness.
Relaxing in trip-land I had the pleasure of meeting Woody Wood Pecker
driving a big yellow Pac-man. In the passenger side was Holli Would.
I hung out with them for a quick fix. We watched some tv and played Twister. Later I woke up at my friend Erika's house- in her closet with my pants, underwear, shoes and socks missing. I walked home wrapped in a towel.
I met the lead singer of Hey Mercedes a little less than a year ago. My girlfriend and I were at a free show of theirs and asked them to play our song, but he said they couldn't then he walked right off stage over to us and chatted to us for a bit, invited us to go out partying with them and was actually kind of hitting on me. It rocked...but to anyone who doesn't know Hey Mercedes, they won't care. So poop on you it was cool for me!

I saw him yesterday, going into a cafe in Hollywood, as I was driving home. This rivals John Cusack as the Best Celebrity Sighting Ever, if you axe me. :D

I was at a Bela Fleck and Edgar Myer concert. Myer was playing piano and Fleck was playing a dobro guitar (metallic, very shiny). After the song he lifted the guitar in a way that light reflected right into my eyes. "Ah!" I exclaimed. "Sorry," he said. I didn't exactly meet him but technically we had a conversation. ;) If you have never heard of him he is pretty much the best banjo player of all time. It would have been cool to actually have met him but I think this makes for a better story.

I once got to talk to Tom Baker (or someone who sounded remarkably like him to my kiddie-sized ears) as part of a raise-money-for-public-television drive. For those not in the know, Tom was the fourth (and widely considered the best, though my favorite was always William Hartnell cos I thought he physically resembled George Washington, and hense couldn't tell a lie) incarnation of Doctor Who, who with his trademark scarf would travel through time and relative dimensions in space thwarting intergalactic refuse cans, known as "Daleks".
[Edit] - The Daleks were the brainchild of fellow time traveler Stephen Hawking, who, under the pseudonym Davros, was on a fiendish mission to cop a feel, using his toilet-plunger-arm attachment on the ever revolving cast of sexy lady sidekicks the Doctor was always dragging around.

When I was young on holiday with my parents in England we visited this place with numerous 'spitting image' puppets, there among them was Mr Norman Wisdom. My parents made me go up and say hello....at this time I didnt know who the hell he was.
I met Tori Amos at a meet and greet.
I went over to Edinburgh for one night to a Regina Spektor gig, the next day I flew home and was sitting in the airport, she walked right past me. I sat for around five minutes thinking, should I, shouldnt I, so I did. I waited for her to get off the phone and asked for her autograph, I also told her to come over to Ireland to play, to save me flying over to the mainland for gigs. She was so sweet I wanted to take her home, but that might have caused a few problems.
When I was walking down the city centre in Belfast I once saw Juliette Stevenson sitting at the steps of the Royal Opera House.

I went to see some theater a few months ago and we had to stand outside and wait for the house to open. The guy standing right beside me on the sidewalk was John Cusack.

I probably am around musicians all the time, I'm in the musical part of Hollywood, but I wouldn't recognise them. There was once when I was at the grocery store and there was a guy there who was very clearly a rocker, but I couldn't begin to guess who he was. He was all done up in black leather though, with a spikey mullet and grey skin.. and was about 5'2" tall. ha!

Exactly. I've been stopped about half a dozen times and it's GREAT the first time, but after that it's sort of intrusive. And I'm totally not famous, so I can just imagine what it would be like for someone who people would have a good reason to stop.

I'm really close with Emily Browning. We met at Eltham High School when she came to my piano recital and we talked about how much she liked how I played. This was before she got the part of Violet Baudelaire in Lemony Snickets. It was around the Ned Kelly time. I didn't even know she was an actress. All I knew is she was very pretty. Probably what all boys see at first. Shortly after that I realized she was an actress and thought she would never be into me, but we continued to hang out and talk in school. Then I got up the nerve to ask her out on a date and she said yes and we have been dating ever since. She is a very intelligence girl who doesn't really know what acting will bring her next, but her brains will also take her very far. The picture in my avatar is me and Em at the Lexus Film Awards which was very cool for a normal guy from Australia.

*Bows down* John Craven is indeed a god. :yup:
Here's one that I haven't mentioned on a forum before: My Auntie Ruby in Belfast used to be Gloria Hunniford's child minder and would drop Caron and her brother off at the same time as my mum arrived with me.
Caron was about 10 years older than the baby Tatt and apparently used to treat me like her doll. It's an encounter that I don't even remember but I had a huuuuuuge teenage crush on her in later years. :)
For those non UK MoFos, Caron Keating became a well known TV presenter and sadly lost her battle with cancer in 2004 aged just 41.

5) Brittany murphy. She was having a meeting at hotel where i worked in 2005. She was rehearsing for her movie "love and other disasters" although the name may have changed since.
I told her i was a film maker too and working my way up industry.

This came many years after my dad told him to **** off at an airport so maybe it was some sort of Divine payback by the world's most belligerent octogenarian rabble-rouser. I dunno.
Wait a minute, I thought I read somewhere that she moved to New Zealand to retire and be by herself. No?

I've met, for the most part, 90% of the cast from the original Night of the Living Dead. Pretty much everyone involved with that film I met except for Romero himself, and Barbera, and some cast members who have passed on. I even went to the graveyard where they filmed the original, as well as the mall from the original Dawn of the Dead.
I have talked to Larry Zerner before via email. He was the kid in Friday the 13th Part 3(-D!) who gave Jason his mask. That was quite a humorus conversation... I might post it up later.
And I have met Toby Radloff, Harvey Pekar's real life best friend from American Splendor. And I actually have his phone number in my cell phone, in case I ever want to call him. (Which I don't, I just called to see if it was a legit number. When he picked up, I just went "Sorry, wrong number" and he said "Okay, thank you." No, I'm not a stalker. But can you say you have a celebrity's phone number on your phone?)
