Just thought you would like to know the opinion of an "outsider". I have posted here now for many months but have not been able to find my way into the circle. Maybe it's an age gap thing I don't know. I post all of the time and I'm ignored all of the time. Anyways, I give up.

I'm not doubting you, but could you point me to a couple of instances? If this problem does indeed exist, I'd like to try and correct it. I think it's spelled "clique" anyway, and I agree that it shouldn't be like that, if it is.

I always feel talked over unless someone's argueing with me.Maybe you should start being argumenitive and disgrunteled.Or you could pick on everyone's spelling and grammer.Or you could be obnoxious.lol...I'm kidding of course.I don't know what the reason is,some of these guys have been posting with each other for a long time...give it time. It's still fun,I love it and I'm only a meager 'critic':D

Plite you would need more topics to talk about if basically all you're talking about is yourself. And how can you go out and do things over there when your head is too big to fit out a doorway. Or is big brother nice enough to grease the doors for you. :p Just kiddin...

i think what tends to happen is there are so many people and so many multiple linse of conversation going on in one thread that people will come and answer what stands out most to them and that may not include some people's posts. there was a time when I would respond to each and every post but the larger the forum gets and the more posts even 1 person makes, that gets to be difficult. so some posts don't get all the attention they might, or even any at all; which can indeed make people feel like they're talking and just not being listened to.

in your case Toose, sometimes you come in and say perfectly valid things to which I nod and have no response. I'm like, yup yup ... and I could post that, but I guess I figure someone else will have some more thorough response and I don't. Then someone else comes along and writes 2 paragraphs on something has nothing to do with your post and people come in and reply to that, if it was provocative, and your post, or others like yours from people, gets no love.

but that don't mean we don't love you. sometimes i post and nobody gives a d@mn what i've got to say. it comes with the territory. i dont' feel hurt. i come in, say what i've got to say, and it's cool if you get feedback and get some dialogue going, and cool if not. :-D

i don't think you've been here for "months" though, have you? i could have sworn your arrival post was within the last couple weeks. in which case you definitely need more time to establish your "persona" cause I don't think it's age, I think we just don't know where you want to go and how you want to play it. sometimes your posts sound more like serious announcements and like i said, i think no one has any beef with what you say so they don't say anything. :)

I think Spuds just insulted me, soo I wont speak to him anymore, Im a very sensitive bloke! :bawl:

Thmilin is right, toose. Sometimes I dont understand what she & TWT are gabbin about especially when its a deep philosofical question so I just talk about my underpants. And then when no one wants to talk about my underpants I just go on & talk about somethin else, like Pigsnies extra nipple@! If I dont say much to Thmilin, it doesnt mean I dont love her -- its just that sometimes I wish for the good old days when we were talkin about her frilly knickers, hahaha!!! :)

PS. Glad youre postin more, Thmilin, how are you? I hope you are seein fewer men this month.

Yoda
09-12-01, 04:27 PM
Wouldn't you want her to see more men? If she sees every man in the world, she'll eventually have to give you a try, PLite. :D And yes, your underwear-related diatribes are always amusing, if not incredibly odd.

PigsnieLite
09-12-01, 04:36 PM
YES you are absolutely right TWT! Im so stupid, dont listen to me, Thmilin! You have to see lots & lots of men (like 100 a month) becuz eventually you will come to your senses & realize that it was really PLite all along who is the man for you! Great idea TWT!!

hyah right!

i'm posting cuz of the momentous occasion and I come to these soothing charcoal and grey boards for love and support. also, there's very little to do at work today.

i have narrowed the beaus down to 1 likely guy and 1 maybe in the future but not likely. so that's that.

Yoda
09-23-01, 09:14 PM
The "condescending film student who's too good for Gladiator" clique. :D I'm in the "Republican without compassion who loves movies with boobs and exploding heads" clique. That's an old joke my dad used to make. :) If it has boobs and/or exploding heads, it's worth seeing. We've got a bunch of "movie rules" for things like that. Funny stuff.

What?!? Bah! Humbug! I LOVE movies with exploding heads and boobs. Preferably both. How about movies with topless women whose heads explode? Those are THE BEST. :D
Gladiator, unfortunately, still sucks. Boring and silly and pretentious. Why does everyone say Gladiator is so great? I think it's because it presents itself as great. Movies like You Can Count On Me aren't recognized for their greatness because they don't have a superior feel to them. It's the same reason people like the Sound of Music and West Side Story and Braveheart so much. Just because it feels great doesn't mean it is.

Yoda
09-23-01, 10:10 PM
See, that's the thing: I don't think it's SO great. I think it's a really good movie. It did not deserve Best Picture, but it was GOOD, fairly clever at times, and the whole thing was very grand -- because Rome was grand. It captured that very well.

It was great and it only made me feel good at the end.It took me two times to actually sit through the whole thing because I kept leaving during the torture scene.C'mon...take it back!

i'm glad to have just read through this thread....sometimes i feel like i shut down threads...they just stop growing after one of my comments....i think(know) my libido pushes it's way into too many of my posts. i love this forum and i really don't want to be an annoying poster....i have so much fun adding little flirty elements, but i'd like to put the question out there......(fearing the response), do i bug anyone? :( :p

You only bug me a tiny, tiny bit. You flirt a tad, but, for some odd reason, even though that kind of stuff usually gets all over my nerves, it hasn't concerning you. I can honestly, genuinely say that you don't bug me more than the tiniest bit (and EVERYONE bugs me a tiny bit for some reason or another).

I assure you, it's either me, T , or spud...you arn't the last post very often hon. I love you. I think you are hilareous, and I would miss you if you left. I'm sure you've noticed the lack of females around here, of couse it's fun to have a few of those sexual innuendos....you, me and thmmie( sometimes bohdigrrl & jozie) own the market on the femmine influence, if all of us left...the guys would only have each other;D How fun would that be? Who would Holden say sexy things to? Who would spud jump on every chance he gets? Who would T argue homosexuallity with? get me patti? They need us, or this place would be a locker room.:D

Yoda
11-20-01, 10:53 AM
Excellent point. :) If all the women left, things would be too akward amongst the guys to talk about homosexuality anymore. :D We sure as heck wouldn't talk about how good looking Brad Pitt/Hugh Jackman is! We'd just sit around talking about football and women, afraid that we'd be construed as less than masculine.

We need that balance!

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but the girl lives in the town I do...isn't very bright...and I can imagine this happening to her...

Meanwhile, back to the comments about West Side Story. Hello? That was a great film, and not because it oozed greatness. I had never even heard of it when I saw it, but I liked it. For me, "Tonight" was already a great song, and then what do I know?

In 1999, Mr. Crystal immortalised it forever with his pre-ceremony opening video for the Oscars. This was the video which did everything, ET, The French Connection, American Beauty ["This is your shower?!"], The Exorcist, The Graduate, and of course, West Side Story.

"Tonight, tonight, there'll be no dance tonight,
And yet this show will still run too looooong!!"

But back to my original outburst [;)]:

What's not to love about West Side Story?

Tenchi
01-16-02, 07:30 AM
Not a beef, really, but I found it funny the way they turned what was clearly a rape attempt into some kind of wierd dance number.
